Hotel B Unique has garnered mixed reviews, with guests praising its pristine cleanliness and serene atmosphere, complemented by stunning ocean views and stylish rooms. While the hotel's amenities, including snorkeling, the pool, spa, and yoga classes, are frequently commended, some visitors have noted shortcomings in breakfast variety and room service.
Despite the appreciation for the hotel's ambiance and facilities, concerns have been raised about the value, with some travelers feeling that it doesn't match the cost, particularly when service inconsistencies and other issues arise.

Detailed Reviews

We are an older couple and always try to find an “adults only” property. We absolutely loved Hotel B Unique and spent a week here (Wed-Wed) over Memorial Weekend. I had read reviews about the lack of drawers, dresser, etc which helped when planning the trip. I brought extra hangers which took care of that problem. There are a few open shelves in the closet for folded clothes so we really didn’t have any issues. The room is minimalistic but very tastefully done. We stayed in the Ocean Front Grand . The only difference in the Grand and the Jr Suite is the suite has a tub in the room, same sq footage. We would personally rather have the space then the tub. One of the selling points for me was the yoga every other morning- it was a wonderful way to start the day.
During the week we never had any problems getting a “sun bed lounger” around the pool. We also had a few meals in “the pit” which is the sunken area inside the pool. All meals we had were really good,, loved the beef nachos, we had thus often forlunch, We had made to order omelets served with fruit & bread during the week and a nice buffet on the weekend. Overall the service was good. Juan Carlos, Eric and Carlos always took care of us, there were other exceptional wait staff but unfortunately I can’t remember their names. There were a few meals that really took a long time but the view is so lovely and there wasn’t any place we needed to be so we were fine. Service was always good when we ordered drinks and food around the pool. The weekend was much more crowded as to be expected and luckily we scheduled massages on Saturday. I had a “relaxing” massage and facial with Stephanie, she was exceptional , one of the best massages I’ve had. She took her time and made for a most enjoyable experience. Our only complaint was the on-site water sports rental, Scuba Du is not a part of the Hotel but is an independent service. We had wanted to rent kayaks but the first try it was 3:00 and they close at 4, the next day they only had 1 oar so we couldn’t rent 2 kayaks and they didn’t have any 2 person kayaks and they weren’t expecting to get any oars in the next few days. I thought that was really strange since Memorial weekend was coming up and they didn’t have any way to get more than 1 oar?? Then we wanted to rent snorkel gear, there was no one at the rental booth the rest of the time we were there. The hotel was most kind and had 2 new masks & snorkels that they let my husband & I use. It is well worth snorkeling off the front of the hotel, we saw eels, starfish, turtles, crabs and lots of colorful fish. Memorial weekend they had a DJ and dancing in the covered pavilion, it was really loud & you couldn’t carry on a conversation even in the far end of the pool. Luckily the rooms have cement flooring and walls and is well insulated from the outside noises. We made some really special friends while we were there which added to our exceptional experience. We will definitely plan to come back to this delightful, small boutique hotel.

We were in the junior suite for four nights at the beginning of January 2020. The room was really pretty, it has an ocean view and a bathtub. The room was clean everyday.
The amenities are great, there is a beautiful infinity pool, there are four different entrances to the ocean (ladders and deck), and snorkeling in this area is amazing. The hotel offered different diving experience including snorkeling equipment rental, and scuba diving tours.
All compliments to the chef for great food, really high quality and great flavors. Both lunch and dinner were really rich and have many options. The included breakfast is nice and satisfied. Dinning experience was excellent especially thanks to the restaurant staff in general and Alejandro garduza and Marcos in particular. They were extremely kind and gave us the best service. They were both very nice and helpful, attentive and in a good mood.
The good experience we had was interrupted by an unfortunate incident with our room. We advise you to double check the room you received. We booked the Jr. Suite with ocean view and a bathtub 6 months in advance. When we checked in, we were told that our room is Jr. Suite and they gave us the room number. A receptionist took us to our room and we settled in. After a couple of hours we realized that the room missed some features, for example, a bathtub. We went back to the reception and asked about our reservation and current room. They told us that we are in the Ocean View Suite, and not in the Jr. Suite, although our reservation was for Jr. Suite. The shift manager, told us that the suite we booked (6 months in advance!) is not available for the first night because they overbooked it. We were shocked. The shift manager offered us a refund for the difference in the price of the first night, but we felt that we were deceived and mislead on purpose. A mistake was happened, and someone tried to wipe it under the carpet. We requested a full refund for the first night, because we received something that we didn't want, in addition to their attempt to slide it (with a lie). After talking to the hotel manager in our last day, we got a full refund for the first day. Unfortunately, we had to deal with it during our stay, until the last day.
The hotel manager was kind and helpful.
Other than this incident, the hotel is amazing and very enjoyable to stay in. There are some activities along the day (yoga, dj etc.), and the staff is very kind and helpful.

We returned for a third time in four years to Hotel B for a week stay. While 50% more expensive than the older rooms, the rooms in the new addition are quite an upgrade and are still have the price you pay for other oceanfront resorts.
The new pool area and restaurant are very attractive and the ocean views can’t be beat. The quality of the breakfasts and other meals continues to be excellent. Service is typically slow and wait staff tend to be inefficient but everyone is friendly and helpful even when some guests are rude and demanding.
My only complaint is related to the front desk staff. Compared to everyone else, they were sometimes unfriendly and tended to deny issues. We had 3 rooms where the key cards would stop working every two days. The same thing has happened to us in every previous stay at Hotel B, but the front desk will not admit it is a hotel-wide issue and instead says we are putting the keys by our cell phones.
I didn’t mind getting my key reset every two days, just their attitude.
In summary, we vacation in Mexico most every winter and this is my favorite resort.

We just left the property after a three night stay. The room we stayed in was beautiful. However, as others have noted the service and food are horrible. I’ll get into the details below which is more for the property than the actual guests. To sum it all up, it’s a nice property. I would probably stay at the Intercontinental or the Westin where the property, food, and service are better. A little pricier but well worth it in my opinion.
We were treated very well upon our arrival, but things quickly went downhill from there... to start there are no bottles of water in the rooms to begin. We asked reception and they responded we could get glasses to fill up at the bottom of the hotel. Rude, not what we were expecting, but ok.
We then went to get something to eat at the restaurant downstairs and the lady was outright rude. The food was 1-star. The shrimp were overcooked, hot, and had no flavor. The waiters were more interested in speaking with each other than making sure we had what we needed and enjoyed our food. They simply did not care. We had this experience two more times and then we just decided to eat out and avoid this issue all together.
Being that the hotels in Cozumel are at a 30% capacity it’s sad to see how little the employees and management of this hotel care about the guests. I hope the hotel owner reads this as it looks like they invested a lot of money in the new hotel for the staff not to care. Until things seriously change, we would NOT come back to this hotel or any others managed or owned by this group.

Dear mv948: Thank you very much for your valuable time and let us know your experience in our property. First of all, I apologize on behalf of each of the collaborators who work here. We are already in the process of solving all the situations you went through since they are not acceptable for any reason. I would like to clarify some of the situations mentioned here, indeed our rooms do not have plastic water bottles since we are doing our best to help our planet, that is why we implement the use of jugs in the rooms that at this time for the contingency is not being filled with water at the arrival of guests. In the restaurant area, the necessary measures are being taken with the people involved to confirm that the quality and service standards are being carried out. Our goal is that your stay here has been calm and totally pleasant, with this wonderful view and with 100% personalized service. I am very sorry that this was not the case. Please receive our apology, we would really love to have you back with us and reverse this first impression you took. Sincerely Marisol Zapata Front Desk Manager

We just got back from an 8 night stay at this property and we have nothing short of amazing to say about our stay!
Our room was on the 4th floor (Views to die for!), very comfortable and clean. AC worked fantastic, king bed was very comfortable and room amenities plenty! Small fridge to store some perishables/drinks. Safe in the room and beautiful decor! very spacious room and balcony! We truly enjoyed sitting out enjoying the breathtaking views of the Caribbean!
People who say food is horrible must be very up tight and should simply hire their own cooks. We ate breakfast everyday and dinner four times and we were always very happy with the quality, portions, taste and price. We just noticed that their happy hour delivery of drinks takes a very very long time, especially because there are not many people around ordering drinks.
We want to mention particularly one waiter whose name is Francisco! He was kind, always great smile and attitude, very fast and accommodating! He is amazing! We had him almost every day for breakfast and when we did not we actually missed his great customer service, Francisco made us feel very welcomed! Also Antonio for dinner! He was so nice and made us feel very welcome as well!
The hotel is sparkling clean, quiet, beautiful with many amenities and plenty of areas to enjoy private time (keeping safe distancing).
Lobby employees were always super helpful and everybody, absolutely everybody was super nice!
The infinity pool is sooooo nice! With separate Jacuzzi area.
The snorkeling at the hotel is incredible! So full of coral and fish!
We definitely want to come back! We adored our experience at hotel B Unique! Thank you all for working so hard to do an exceptional job!

I booked two nights at the B unique hotel because I wanted to end my week long trip by treating myself to a fantastic hotel. Unfortunately I was let down by the B hotel, which was not the best way to end my vacation. While it was much more luxurious to my Airbnb in town, it was not worth spending a small fortune, when compared against other hotels for $50-80 per night or my Airbnb $30, to stay here.
After a long day of traveling around the Yucatan, I wanted nothing more than to come home to a warm shower. At first the hot water wasn’t working and then the water shut off completely. Again normally this would be fine but given the cost of the room I was less than pleased. Combine that with the peeing and chipped paint on the ceiling, loud party music blasting until 11:30pm, flickering lights and brownish water in the tub and you lose my recommendation.
Overall the staff was lovely and the grounds clean. It’s just not worth the price and I would recommend saving your money and staying elsewhere.

If you are reading this today and the wind chills are 25 below zero. Imagine waking up in the morning to an armada of cruise ships that pass only a few hundred yards from your ocean view balcony. Then heading down to a freshly cooked breakfast on an outdoor patio with unbelievable service and views. When booking I was concerned that the beach and pool area may be a little small. We've stayed at much larger beaches that required getting up at 5am to lay claim to your palapa or beach chairs. Not here! You can enjoy morning activities and return in the afternoon and always find a place in the sun. It's a place you might not even want to leave your room because of the large ocean/city views from your balcony. We would turn off the a/c late at night and open the balcony doors so we could hear the waves that are only 30 feet away. Friday nights they do try to liven the place up with some dance music at the restaurant below.
Saturday afternoons we had a live singer at the pool.
Rooms are beautiful and well maintained. Some folks from the new Westin were complaining about their power going off all the time and being hot. I told them that our a/c had a remote control and I could bring it down to meat locker temp in about 10 minutes. We saw them at the pool a few days later. Special thanks to Marcos who alway kept our coffee cup full, Alejandro who always kept our wine glass full and Jesus who kept our bike tires completely full! Thanks to a great front desk. Gabriela in booking our trip, Damiela who helped extend our stay in the same room and to Marisol who makes all this happen. All this just 25 minute walk from 8 of the top 10 restaurants in Cozumel.

Gabriela in booking our trip, Damiela who helped extend our stay in the same room and to Marisol who makes all this happen. All this just 25 minute walk from 8 of the top 10 restaurants in Cozumel.

Dear Lidia O: I really appreciate your review. I am glad to read and know that your stay was pleasant and of your total satisfaction. The snorkeling equipment rental service and others are provided by a company totally external to the hotel, that is why they are not included. As you mentioned, the taxi is very easy to take from the hotel to the center or vice versa, it is not complicated at all. The advantage of being far from the center is that you live in a quite calm environment, enjoying the beauty of the sea. Give us the pleasure of seeing you again. You are always welcome. My best regards Suamy Ruiz General Manager

We were here for a couple of days and had the best time in this boutique hotel.
Our hotel room was ample and very clean. It had a simple and modern design to it. I like that it also had very unique items in the room that were for sale.
The staff was very nice and helpful. Jesus the bellman was always helpful and willing to give us advice as to places to go nearby.
The breakfast included was great: fresh pressed juices, delicious bread, freshly made jam and plentiful eggs plate.
The pool/sea area had many unique places for you to rest during the day.
Some minor inconveniences were that the wifi was slow (which it was a perfect excuse to disconnect) and the bigger pool was not working.
We sure wished we could had stayed longer.

a better solo getaway. Hotel was absolutely beautiful, relaxing, and the service was impeccable. I had an ocean view room on the top level of the B Unique side and the view was breathtaking. There are two properties in one and you can use amenities for both. I loved it so much, I ended up extending my stay for another 3 days. I had to work part of my time there and the Wi-Fi service in the lobby and by the pool area was great. The location is a bit further north on the island, away from the busy crowds near the town center, which I really loved because there was more privacy. Cabs are affordable but I also walked it a few times (30-40 mins) during the day. Vanessa at the front desk was extremely sweet, professional and helpful throughout my stay. If you end going please ask for her. She was lovely! The island of Cozumel itself is gorgeous, very safe (especially for solo female travelers) and doesn't have the busy crowds I've found on the Riviera Maya side. I will definitely be returning and staying at B Unique.

I’ve never seen any seaweed there. The ocean floor is covered in sea life but there is no kelp like say in California. It’s clear water!
Which airport? If it’s Cozumel take a taxi, the fixed fair is listed at the taxi stand.
I don't remember a iron but yes to the hairdryer
