I mistakenly left a review for Hotel B instead of Hotel B Unique so am writing another review ☝️ This one is correct. We stayed at B Unique for 3 nights but wished it could be more! The hotel is just gorgeous in every way & the pictures do not do it justice. I could not find any negatives. It is so beautiful & serene . I can’t wait to come back here . Loved every minute. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, and after reading the reviews of B Unique vs. The Westin, we opted to stay with Hotel B Unique - and I’d most definitely make the same decision 1000 times over. Everything from beginning to end has been wonderful! I booked online 30+ days in advance and the price was a significant discount. I reached out twice before our trip to the reservations staff and they were always so helpful and prompt to respond, especially Diamela. We arrived to Cozumel after 3 days in Playa Del Carmen. The HBU lobby is bright, breezy, and we were welcomed with a complimentary green juice, made from scratch right before us! We requested early check-in and our request was honored. The website room pics don’t do the Ocean View Grand King room justice - the space is open with many natural elements. The view overlooks the water and infinity pool. The bathroom is modern with a large rainfall shower. What I really appreciate about the B Unique property are the “small touches”. Great bathroom soaps abs products, purifies water in the pitcher in the room, robes/slippers, and nightly turn-down service with the most delicious handmade chocolate. The entire property is adults-only, and the ambiance is all about relaxation and romance… exactly what we were wanting. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended and extra night in Cozumel rather than going to Cancun for the airport proximity. Although our existing room type wasn’t available when I booed the additional night, Marcela worked magic and we were able to stay in our existing room. Great venue for holistic retreats and couples getaway. Every single detail is very well taken care of, all the staff is super friendly and the holistic activities are really well planned, guided by professionals. I enjoyed the Mayan Canoeing, Cacao Ceremony & ecstatic dance as well as the sound healing ceremony. You can't miss the temazcal experience in the middle of the jungle, its a life changing therapy.

I'm not a resort person and love boutique hotels. The reservation lady on Whats App was very accommodating and polite despite some hiccups (my fault) making reservations for myself and several friends and family. The front desk people are polite and check in process was easy, but its clear that the computer reservation system or something is difficult to navigate. This was my second time here and I've never been greeted with fresh juice, although I love that idea. David Morales, the bell hop, is funny and charming. I like that they now have a breakfast buffet! I didn't like that the bottle of water I ordered was $8. My hot bath in the Jr. Suite on the rainy day was great. It was essentially my honeymoon, however my sister and her husband got a bottle of sparking wine on ice delivered, while we got 2 glasses of (very bad and warm) sparkling wine delivered with kiwi-chocolate treats. Nice idea I guess, but not my thing. Over all, I love Hotel B Unique but the flaws are 1. Finding cheaper rates on 3rd party apps, instead of their main website. 2. Hoping and paying for an exclusive experience but then having to share the grounds and amenities and find a place to sit amongst all these day pass cruise ship people. Overall, we had a lovely time at Hotel B Unique, and we would go back. What was great: - Truly excellent snorkeling just off the dock - The look/feel of the place is great, with lots of options (hammocks, lounge chairs, lounge beds, a gorgeous infinity pool) available for seaside lounging. Strong recommend to get the ocean view rooms, the balcony with view are just wonderful - Most of the staff are very nice (shoutout to Marco, Jorge and Guzman!) - Pepe's Scuba shop, located next door at the Coral Princess, is a great dive operation. What was less than great: - The service is friendly but at times a bit slow and mystifying re: how to flag someone down for a drink. This was mostly an issue during the middle of the day when there were a lot of external (i.e. cruise ship) folks showing up. Some days lunch would take well over an hour to arrive -- plan accordingly! - The food was generally pretty good but a bit limited, especially at dinner time. I would have liked to have eaten more dinners at the restaurant, but we got bored of the options quickly. - As a result, we ended taking a taxi into town most nights. Which was fine, we had some great meals and even with the cost of round trip taxi the cost was usually less than we would have paid for dinner at the hotel -- but it was more than I planned on doing originally. What was bad: - Friday night they did some sort of DJ dance party thing that went until 11pm. Which would have been fine, except the music was so loud, and the bass so heavy, that it made the bed in my room (several floors up) shake and gave me a headache. I know I sound like a boring old lady her -- I like music, really! But this was really unnecessarily loud for a small venue. Beautiful hotel that exceeded our expectations. The hotel itself is beautiful and located on an amazing piece of oceanfront property. The rooms are huge and have beautiful big balconies, the breakfast included with our room was delicious and served until 11:30, and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They have a laundry service if you need, espresso machines in the room, and a restaurant on site. When you book with hotel B unique you also have access to their sister hotel (Hotel B) which includes a pool, a dock that you can jump off of into the ocean, and more chairs and beds. We cannot wait to go back!

a better solo getaway. Hotel was absolutely beautiful, relaxing, and the service was impeccable. I had an ocean view room on the top level of the B Unique side and the view was breathtaking. There are two properties in one and you can use amenities for both. I loved it so much, I ended up extending my stay for another 3 days. I had to work part of my time there and the Wi-Fi service in the lobby and by the pool area was great. The location is a bit further north on the island, away from the busy crowds near the town center, which I really loved because there was more privacy. Cabs are affordable but I also walked it a few times (30-40 mins) during the day. Vanessa at the front desk was extremely sweet, professional and helpful throughout my stay. If you end going please ask for her. She was lovely! The island of Cozumel itself is gorgeous, very safe (especially for solo female travelers) and doesn't have the busy crowds I've found on the Riviera Maya side. HOTEL B UNIQUE is awesome!!! Me and my girlfriend (we are between 28-30 y/o) had an amazing time on our 5 night stay at Hotel B Unique. For starters, definitely worth to stay on the unique side, versus the regular hotel B (nicer rooms, building, and that side is for adults-only, get discounts on spa treatments and more when you stay on that side!!!). Pros: - Staff: very friendly and attentive. Special shout out to Marco and David at concierge, excellent recommendations for restaurants in town, will help you book taxis, excursions, etc. and very trustworthy (i've been to other destinations and it wasnt like they were just sending you to touristy crap or to their friend's places, truly super helpful and nice). - Location: its a $7 cab ride to get into town and takes about 5 mins. 15 mins from the airport, just a great location and you can get to anywhere very easily - Room: We stayed in an ocean front room, definitely worth the bump as the views were breathe-taking and it really did not get noisy, as it's a small hotel, so super relaxing on the balcony! - Spa: Very nice and fairly priced to get treatments! The service really made the experience. The spa is fabulous - I highly recommend booking ahead - therapist Itzel is truly magical, a real healer. I had two massages - the deep tissue and the sports and both were incredible. The food is healthy and well-made and delicious. You can jump right into the ocean from the pool deck and swim and snorkel and see lots of sea life.
