I did my research prior to coming to Cozumel. I was a little discouraged when I got there. Bed and pillows were fine. This is NOT a fancy place and is very low key. Food was gross. Overall experience was a 3 out 5. Please see FB review more details.

Hotel's Favorite
First visit to this resort, 6th to Cozumel, I'd do it here again. I had it narrowed down to three resorts and read many reviews. Location & snorkeling were my biggest wants. I knew this area and saw good snorkeling spot. It didn't disappoint. From other reviews I knew it was a dated resort. Man made elevated beach area. Some rooms had shower updates. They had two bottles of water for you. No washcloths, drawers that could fall out if pulled too far. And firm beds. So I planned and prepared for all that. Brought insulated water bottle, good on plane too fill after security point! There were several places to fill it from chilled water coolers. Also insulated cup great to keep other beverages cold longer, know cup is clean and holds more. I enjoyed the variety and quaintly of the meals. Hot enough mostly, no pizza or nuggets. No wait usually on omelets. I didn't pull far on drawers so never fell out. Took wash clothes. Didn't mind firm bed, would prefer thinner pillow. A/C on remote was perfect. No trouble getting room cool at night and back to 76'/day. Loved the beach area. Never crowded, lots to watch on ocean, many chairs and lounges (some with foam pad). Like 6 hammocks. Several palm trees. Beds to rent. Beach bar, Mario was great! Tip well. And wonderful easy entry into ocean for swim, snorkeling or scuba. Maybe not ideal for all, kids or beach walkers. Spent many hours every day down there snorkeling. Don't feel limited to small area, go beyond the ropes left towards yellow/black cargo pier. Or right a few properties down. BUT watch for incoming boats if you get away from the coral banks. Others were right about the staff being great! Kiera around the snack bar pool area was full of energy. Hard worker, loves her job (heard her say it). I told her I read good things about her. Louis in main restaurant was very good, as were others. Didn't enjoy eating in Grand Sol, auditorium, lacks charm and views. Hope place by ocean is done for future trips. Front desk was wonderful and helpful. When checking in asked if I had updated room, said no, but moved me up and over to 1120. Aka 2nd floor. Oh my young cleaning girl was great, kind, friendly and understanding. Kudos to her, name lost. I knew the hotel as orange/gold, that had more curb appeal to me. Needs some color out front on sign...blue waves by dolphins maybe? Also darker curtains would be nice. FYI deck lights go off at 10:17. Watch your head in shower area, towel rack feel like accident waiting to happen. I missed. Also beware of little curb near sink area! Blankets in closet top shelf, or inquirie. And lastly...if you are still reading lol. Walking to Mega or Chedau(?) about 10 min to right as you walk out front. Think Walmart! Good deals. Must wear mask yet there. Also at buffets! Sidewalks are fine, always watch for gaps, garbage etc. Taxi to ferry...$6US. To Chankanaab $9. Ferry to Playa $500 MX roundtrip. Tip well...and relax! Pool area wasn't too busy during spring break. To manager/etc: the feast by pool was nice but poorly organized. Nobody knew where to stand and wait. Beach feast was perfect! Needing to sit 1st wait to place snack order defeated snack bar! I get if due to food waste. Also saw man there use bare hands for buns and grabbing fries. Never saw or got map or info re grounds. Yes, it's way smaller than many in Rivera but nice to get info. Eating hours, bar hours. Water locations, ice from bars only.

Had a great time we were a group of 20. Everybody had something to do love being close to downtown. Cannot express how we all love Keira was our favorite waitress. She rocks and hustles all day to make sure everyone’s glasses are full. Rooms are always clean. On complaint is the beds are hard.

We always have a great time while in Cozumel at Hotel Cozumel by Wyndham. Keira Is the best pool waitress and a hard worker and we had a lot of fun with her all week. February was very busy there as it was our first time during that month. Can’t wait to go back.

Just returned from our week at Hotel Cozumel. Perfect week! Good was good and room was excellent. This hotel has the best staff. Keira Valdez was so much fun to be around. She is always smiling and a great server. Daniel is our favorite bartender but all the bartenders at the Monkey Bar did an outstanding job. The staff at this hotel is what keeps us coming back every year for the past 20 years. See you in December!!!

I lead scuba trips and this was my 15th year at this hotel. Carnivale was in full swing with Super Bowl and Valentines thrown in. The hotel was full and staff was over worked but still worked very hard and were friendly. They through together an amazing SuperBowl party with two large screens and all the food and drinks. The only complaint this year was the hotel food. Last year it had become better than years past but this year it was worse. The breakfast buffet was supposed to start at 0630 but wasnt set up till almost 0730 which was too late for those boarding boats at 0830. Most all mornings we only had bread and fruits or cereal to eat. One morning i discovered that the muffins were contaminated with gasoline. I pointed this out to the waiter how alerted his boss and they were quickly removed. I would avoid the crowds of carnivale and in the fall avoid triatholons.

What happened is near the resort there were people painting walls with thiner, and is the smell what you probably felt, so that is why our team removed them, just in case and only for prevention. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we look forward to see you again soon!!!

Excellent wait staff very friendly staff overall. Louisa is the absolute best waitress we have ever had anywhere! Rooms still need upgrading, the food is good & they’ve added dinner outside at the pool area with themes i.e. steak night, seafood night, etc. it’s a short walk to town and shops, etc. It’s not a 5 star resort, but we always have a nice stay here. This resort has really gone down hill. We stayed here last year and were happy to return. But to our surprise they’ve removed all the furniture out of the rooms….no dresser, desk, chair not even a luggage rack. Instead they put hammocks inside the rooms. Not on the balcony but inside the actual rooms. You have to take the hammock down to get to your patio. What is the purpose of this 🤷🏼‍♀️. The food has also gone down hill as well as the front desk service. We won’t be returning here again. We heard many guests complaining saying Wyndham has used false advertising for this resort. So sad. Time to find another resort in Cozumel.

Was very disappointed… For a hotel that boosting that they are doing renovations not sure where those are happening. 1. Room -Main door frame was pretty busted up no trim and you could fully see thru the door edge where it latched (looked like the door had be kicked in a few times) .Website states that all standard rooms are finished with marble with tub and shower, our room was old tile, no tub, shower had no lip to keep the water in and drained into the middle of the bathroom( So the full bathroom floor was soaking wet with puddles while taking a shower. Dresser was situated inside the closet -couldn't use the hangers for anything as there was no space, Tv was a a small 32” flat screen and was not clear at at (lines and fuzzy). No fridge. Two beds and only one bedside table. One chair on the balcony. We were on the ground floor facing into the pool - curtains were not black out so at night our room did not get dark at all due to the spotlights from the pool area. Heard everything from the adjacent room (absolutely zero sound proofing). 2. Pool area -hot tub did not work for the first three days -was cold and jets not running. Both hot tub and pool are in need of repair -ton of missing tiles. Pool is only open from 8 am-9:00 pm. Pool bar closes at 10:00 pm- and then upcharge from what they call preimum liquor (basically any branded liquor) malibu rum was classified as a preimum liquor. Pool snack bar was decent but limited running time. -Service from waitresses at the snack bar was really good. 3. Meals - nothing really good to say about the buffet meals- Everything is cold ( even things that should be served hot were cold. Dinner leftovers seemed to be served at breakfast. did the ala carte steak dinner on valentines day and was probably the worst meal I have ever had full meal took three hours -Ribeye steak was well well done( even though asked for medium rare, baked potato was ice cold as was the corn. (some people got beets and were told that it was baked potato). Dessert was cheesecake -did not taste or even resemble cheesecake. 4. Dive shop - was a total *** show - Completely disorganized, Each day had to pay marine fee (had to be done in cash)- which for a resort dive shop seemed kinda odd that you could pay everything else via credit card but not the daily fee. boat broke down first day out. suppose to have two morning dives a day and back by noon 1 pm each day. Boat was either not on time in the morning or was so slow going out and back in that dives didn't finish till 2-3 pm each day. Have to turn in the weights at the end of dives on the boat. Couldn't even get seated on the boat and gear all sorted before boat crews were asking for weights to be handed in. Coordination of extra dives and tanks was painful. Dive lockers are old most were hard to open and keys and locks not maintained (and not very conducive to drying your gear out). in reality this is a 2 star resort charging 4 star pricing. This will bot be a resort I will go back to or recommend.
