My expectations for this stay were high considering all the reviews I read, but unfortunately they were not met. Let me start by stating that this hotel is beautiful and located in a great location with great access to the beach. The beach access at this hotel was spectacular. Our room was lovely and had easy access to the garden pool, so this was pretty great too. The hotel knows exactly how great the views and access to the beach are that they don't really have to try with customer service (or at least that's how it felt). Customer service at this hotel was pretty poor (considering the cost to stay here). The best customer service at this hotel that we received was at the SPA and our servers at the restaurants. My only issue with the restaurants was that it had limited menus and food was okay...not great...just okay for the caliber of the hotel. I also felt like the front desk was not super welcoming and nice, but this was specific to one person (Javier) who checked us in. During our check in I mentioned that I wanted to rent a jeep for a day to go explore the island and specifically requested a convertible and Javier pushed back and said that typically a covered jeep would be best for the AC since it was hot...He also proceeded to tell us that he could coordinate the rental for us via HTL rentals. We agreed, and he explained it would be $165 cash for the day, we felt safe coordinating this through the hotel because we had heard a lot of stories of tourists getting robbed or encountering issues with the rentals disappearing and getting stuck with the cost when booked independently. So, we agreed to the rental and when HTL came to deliver the Jeep Joel from HTL explained that there was going to be a $380 hold placed on our credit card but would be removed once the Jeep was returned. Joel continued to explain that this hold could take up to two weeks to be removed, but it would definitely be removed...Well flashforward a month after that transaction that hold was still there and they wouldn't remove it...We had to call Javier and HTL multiple times over the span of a week and a half to get them to remove the hold. Honestly, this seemed very shady because credit card holds aren't hard to remove...seemed like they wanted to double charge for the jeep rental (pocket the $380 + $165). After many back and forths the credit card hold was finally removed. This incident left a very bad taste in my mouth, since it was coordinated between the hotel and HTL. For this reason plus the poor customer service I don't think I would stay at this hotel again. The beautiful location and hotel is not enough for me to overlook poor customer service and shady dealings. …
After having a short stay here in may, I came back to stay a bit longer and explore the resort. The hotel entrance is absolutely beautiful. The lobby is peaceful with the design and openness of architecture of building. At check in we were greeted with a cold cloth and green juice. There is a large palapa that serves breakfast- buffet and menu avail. Arturo, Alejandro and Jesus are amazing and go above and beyond. You can also have lunch and dinner there. There is another outdoor restaurant next to the water for lunch and dinner. Ivan was wonderful at helping with our lunch being fantastic! He went above and beyond for us. At dinner there are an additional 2 options- Italian and seafood. Both nicer restaurants. Rooms- they have quite a few categories of rooms from ocean view, pool view, luxury presidente suite etc. Pools- one family infinity and 1 adult/quiet pool. Large hot tub area too Cabanas- cabanas over the water that are absolutely amazing as well as poolside cabanas available. Beach areas - Cozumel is rocky but they have an area where they have done an excellent job of removing the rocks. There are 2 other areas you can snorkel and see tons of fish! Spa- nice, and quaint. Very peaceful. They offer facials, massages, body treatments, mani/pedi and more! They have several pools of different temps as well as a vapor and steam room. Tennis courts and gym- both nice!! Sorry not more info- I don’t exercise much and don’t definitely on vacation. Kids area- area for kids and kids crafts. If you want a beautiful resort, with friendly top notch service to relax at this is definitely your place! I can’t wait to return!…
After booking the hotel though a travel agent two months prior, we arrived and tried to check in. The receptionist requested my credit card which I provided. The card transaction failed twice. I advised I would call the credit card company when in my room, as I had.no power in my phone, to identify the cause of the problem. The receptionist and manager on duty would not allow this. In the end we had to pay cash for one night in order to get to the room to charge the phone. After an hour on the phone, my credit card company advised they had no issues their end and it was the hotel chain that was causing the problem by wireless tapping for a large amount of money. I went back to reception, whilst still on the phone and the credit card company explained to the hotel it was their issue that had caused all of my check in hell. The hotel manager refused to accept blame saying it was my fault, even though the credit card company top them it wasn’t. The hotel were advised that they needed chip and pin for the transaction. The manager then tried this and my transaction was approved. I complained to the manager that this nightmare was caused by them. He then still tried to refuse blame saying we tried chip and pin earlier. Thankfully my credit card company Weds on the phone and told him he hadn’t. No apology from the hotel whatsoever. We were also not given an overview of the hotel, breakfast times etc. This is by far the worst check in I have ever experienced and did. It feel welcomed in any way. I have another three days here and not looking forward to it.…
This was our first time in Cozumel. We booked our trip last minute to find some sunshine during the winter. We were trying to stay at a different hotel, but the other hotel was sold out. I'm so glad because our stay her was absolutely AMAZING! Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the bell men with hot towels and refreshing drinks! We did stay with other couples. We opted to book the reef room which I truly believe was the biggest highlight of our stay. We were right on the beach. We got to wake up right on the beach every morning. We had a wonderful patio we could walk out to and enjoy our coffee. We were just a few steps from Le Cap and the Cabanas. It was really nice to have so much private beach available to us. The beach chairs were spread out enough to give each party plenty of privacy and not have to be over crowded within each others space. It was extraordinary relaxing. We enjoyed some very much, over needed R&R. We did rent the cabanas one day and the service was horrible! Some of the items we ordered we were told were unavailable at the cabana area. Unacceptable, at a place like this. How do you not have seafood available serving from Le Cap? We had much better service just sitting on the beach with the regular waiter. There was no such were as "no" for them. We also had dinner on the beach. This was also a great experience. Waiter did take a very long time to bring out drinks and food but non the less it was great food, great drinks in great company. We would love to return again but with our small children. Only set back was the cabana rental, we just wouldn't rent one again. …
My husband and I stayed at this resort for our 5-year wedding anniversary. The positives: the scenery is absolutely beautiful (it's right on the ocean), the food was great, and there's a really nice fitness center on site. Major negative: my husband had his cell phone stolen from our lounge chairs when we were swimming. We reported the stolen phone to the staff, spoke with the pool/beach security, met with the hotel manager, filed an official crime report, and even met with the head of security for the entire resort. Despite the fact that there are security cameras throughout the resort, they were unable to help us with the theft. Although I cannot prove that it was resort staff who stole the phone, I would be highly surprised if it had been stolen from another guest, given that it is an upscale hotel with affluent clientele. It felt awful to be taken advantage of, and that whoever stole the phone got away with it. The hotel staff were utterly unhelpful and dismissive, which made us start thinking that maybe some of them were in on it. They would not show us video footage from the security cameras, kept suggesting that maybe we had misplaced it, and even did an extensive search of our hotel room (with our permission). The incident ruined our trip and we will not be returning to this hotel. It's a shame, because our stay was otherwise lovely and we had a very positive experience with the scuba diving shop that's on site.…
Beautiful rooms, tastefully decorated, and a perfect setting. Much better than the on-line pictures suggest. Close to town, but far enough away to be tranquil and safe. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Any time I asked for anything, it was taken care of promptly and with a smile. The food and drinks at the restaurants on the property were delicious. Everything was reasonably priced. Could not have asked for better.
This was our second time visiting Cozumel and, due to our amazing experience at the InterContinental Presidente, it will not be our last. We booked the lowest rate double room and were surprised to have an ocean view. The restaurants were amazing and we appreciated the daily happy hour. The beach is pristine, as is the infinity pool and hot tub. A gorgeous spa and exercise facility are icing on the cake. The ratio of guests to space was optimal and there weren't many children (and none of them noisy). All told, we had the perfect vacation. We didn;t use the in-house dive operation but highly recommend the nearby Scuba Life!
Amazing stay! Exceptionally clean! Great staff all around resort! Great food! Over accommodating. Will get you what you want or need. Superb! 10/10!! The pictures below are mostly on property no filter real colors.
Went to Presidente as part of a PADI dive package. Package deal with dives. The dive operation with the resort = so-so. The resort itself, excellent. The room was an ocean front, spacious, fantastic, really. It had a patio with a rack for drying dive gear (great idea, Presidente). It was quiet with thick walls so you could not hear your neighbors. We heard no one. The bathroom was HUGE and luxurious. We had a living room and a very comfortable bed. We stayed in the ocean view tower and I highly recommend it. The staff at the resort are super friendly and helpful and the resort itself is super clean. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of fruit and pastries, and omelettes made onsite. We did not have kids with us but there were lots of families there with kids in the pool and snorkel area. We were less thrilled with the dive operation that is associated with the resort. If you stay here, I recommend that you do your research and find a dive operation with great reviews. We used a different one each afternoon (they picked us up at the hotel pier) and the were GREAT. So, experienced divers, do not use the dive op on site. Don't forget to only drink bottled water. I forgot and had consequences.…
We selected Presidente because of a PADI dive package. The room was spectacular, overlooking the sea. Very spacious with a patio (where we dried our gear) and lots of peace and quiet. The Presidente is spotless and the breakfast was over the top. We were there for diving but lots of families were enjoying the pool and snorkel area. Unfortunately, I cannot really recommend the associated dive operation. However, with many many dive operations on Cozumel you can select the one you want and get picked up at the Presidente Pier. I recommend that experienced divers who plan to stay at the Presidente make dive arrangement with Aldora Divers. Do your research, many great dive operations on the Island. One last thing about the room--HUGE bathroom, HUGE living area, comfortable bed, quiet rooms (cannot hear your neighbors), and super friendly staff--especially Paula. We were in an ocean view tower room and loved it.…
