The Westin in Cozumel was just lovely. The room was spacious and very clean with soft fluffy towels and your choice of pillow type. Beyond that the pool and beach area were very nice as well. I especially loved the fact that you didn't have to race down at the crack of dawn to get a chair, there were plenty and I think the signs on the umbrellas and palm trees advising people that their items would be removed if left there for an extended period of time. The service around the beach and pool areas was great - plenty of staff. Drinks were good, as was the food from the snack bar. Our waitress, Diana was very gracious and prompt with service. Ricardo at the front desk went above and beyond with helpful advice and arranging our covid testing.
The hotel is very well located, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff is friendly. However, they did not deliver the invoice at the end of the trip, and they promised to do it electronically. We have had more than 5 emails, calls and they don't even answer the communications, which if they do read them, they will send a reading confirmation. Unacceptable and inexistent customer service.
Let me start by saying that it is a very nice and well maintained property. It is the first time that I go to an all-inclusive where there is the option for other tourists staying there, not to have all-inclusive accommodation. Every time the all-inclusive client consumes something they are presented with a bill, they are billed $0 but a tip is expected, EVERY TIME, like any other client staying without the all-inclusive option. In the other all-inclusive accommodations that we have been so far (on several continents) the tip is something that is left as a detail for the employee if you are really happy about the service received; Here the employees expect tips from both the “normal” client and the “all-inclusive” client, and even more so, since there is mostly American tourism, they expect tips with exorbitant amounts when one initially has paid for an all-inclusive stay. Example: 4 margaritas by the pool, left 50 pesos ($2.5 as tip, again, we paid all-inclusive option) and the waiter asked us if those were $50 US or pesos as a tip. If I had that kind of money, to leave $50 as a tip for a couple of drinks I wouldn’t stay there….…
My wife and I stayed at this property last month and we had a wonderful stay. The staff is super nice and the hotel is very clean and orderly. We took advantage of the all inclusive offering and were not disappointed! The beach is small but the water is incredibly clear and calm for the most part. Special thanks and praise to the pool and beach servers, especially Diana and Edgar. They made us feel very comfortable and appreciated. Also, the rooftop bar shouldn’t be missed along with the weekend sushi up there. Awesome service and bartenders. We’ll be back!
Have stayed at this property twice now. Staff was very friendly especially Carlos our food/bar staff by the pool and beach each day! Check in was slow and a little disorganized. Breakfast buffet was very good, but again service a little slow. Masks are hit and miss on who has them on and who does not. They offer COVID testing on-site ($31pp) for those who need a test to get back home. Great room with great view. Super comfortable bed. Did not eat dinner at property. Went in to town each night to try different places and meet up with friends. Would certainly recommend this property if you don't mind staying an $8 cab ride into town. We will certainly be back and thanks again Carlos for the wonderful bar service!
