Allegro is a great place for families. It would have been better had the front desk people were more accomadating. Do not stay in building 22 since its too close to the sewage treatment facility. Its noisy from the pump that runs all day and once and a while depends on the wind direction, you will get a smell.
Went with our family. Staff was super nice and kind. The scuba dive shop was great. They were patient and great teachers. My 11 yr old went scuba diving for first time and had the time of his life. So cool.
The view was great but the buffet was not good at all. Not a very good selection and you ate almost the same thing every day. I’m my opinion they need to expand their buffet and do more different options than the same stuff every day.
This was our second stay at Allegro Cozumel. A small and charming resort 16 km south of town. The staff is extremely kind and helpful (special thanks to Hector who went above and beyond to accommodate us in the room that we asked for at the check-in). The rooms are comfortable, with hammocks on balconies, mini-fridge, bathroom, walk-in closet. We chose every day housekeeping; Sylivia did a very good job in keeping our room spotless and a special thank you for providing plenty of bottled water! The gardens are nicely manicured; you get to meet iguanas, koatis and small lizzards. We loved the beach – rows of palm trees and crystal clear water, not deeper than 2.5 m in the watched area. The beach was not crowded, there were always plots of loungers. Lovely sunsets, too! Beach towels are provided, and you can exchange them often for clean ones. There are also showers at the beach. We didn’t use any of the pools, but they are well maintained, clean, and fun games are organized every day. The food was excellent, every night was a different theme: mexican, italian, international, Caribbean – plenty of choices for everyone – seafood fresh and delicious, lots of salsas, ceviche, fresh vegetables, as well meats. The fruit is especially delicious! There is live entertainment every night at the theatre, great dancers and singers. The Wi-Fi is now free (thank you!) and it works well everywhere in the resort. We can’t wait to go back!…
Allegro Cozumel 3-14 to 3-22-23 Beach/Ocean- plenty of lounge chairs, palm trees offer some shade. Warm water, sand, and grass in water. There is a drop off when you first get in the ocean. Snorkeling - 6 of 7 days the wind made the water too cloudy to see anything. One clearer day there were some fish, a small skate, and an eel. We had our own equipment. Out trip – booked with Ted Martin at Allegro. Easy, reasonable a 3 hour snorkeling adventure with Chac-Choc Tours with 4 stops. Only about 20 minutes from Allegro to reefs, with pick up at wharf on Allegro Beach. Saw turtles, star fish, rays, assorted fish and clear warm water. Quite delightful. Our boat was the MAMALENA. Nice basic boat plus it had a toilet. Entering and exiting the water was a bit of a challenge. To enter the ocean it is a 4 foot drop over the side of the boat. Re-boarding was by pulling yourself up on side ladder with round slip resistant rungs. I wished the ladder had flat rungs. You need to be able to pull up your own body weight. Room – Comfortable and cozy. 2 double beds in smallish room, good sized closet, safe, hair dryer, and big shower with great hot water. No AC, but good ventilation with a blower. Porch (bring clothesline and clothespins) with hammock. Did not hear anything from adjoining rooms. Room cleaned daily although we had said that was not necessary. Consider leaving a tip please. TV, mini fridge stocked daily with water, beer and soda. Must ask for face cloths (toallitas), but also bring your own and hair conditioner. Our room was close to theater which meant we could not sleep until 10 PM or later some nights. Not a problem. After that pretty quiet. Good Wi Fi. Night Life –They had usual circuit shows. The Mexican themed ones held our interest. Our last night, there was a Mariachi band that the children really got into it and that brought some of us out onto the floor. That was really fun. Sometimes there were children’s movies in the theater in the late afternoon. Besides taped music at the beach, there was no live music for us to dance to. Except on St. Pat’s Day there was a super live band for one hour at the beach. Try to make or bring friends to while away the evening. Food – I have food allergies. When we went to sign up for the restaurants, the staff became aware of that and at every meal they had someone available to help if I needed it. In the Oriental and Italian specialty restaurants, they custom prepared my food. I really felt it was a safe and responsive situation for me. Veronica Cruz, Head Waiter and Marcelino La Cruz Chef for all 3 restaurants were exceptionally helpful. Food choices are eased if you are an adventurous eater. Dishes are labeled to what they are, but not ingredients. Superior staff – They are friendly and responsive running Allegro efficiently and effectively. We felt well taken care of. This is a big family resort and includes a small waterpark. There were lots of little folks. Personally, I found them a great addition and fun to watch. …
We had a wonderful time at Allegro! The activities staff was amazing and so much fun! The rooms are small but clean. The bars were great! The resort is clean and easy to navigate. The food was as expected for an all inclusive.
A good value for your money. Beautiful beach and pools! Great staff and activities! Food was mediocre and rooms are small. Would recommend the upgrade to the premium level for better drinks and breakfast at the beach. Lots of mosquitoes!!
We had a wonderful family trip to Allegro Cozumel. The experience was that of a classic all-inclusive resort, with the best this model has to offer. The beach area and sea in front of the resort is absolutely gorgeous. Our elementary-aged kids loved the pools, water park, activities, music, and action and we felt safe letting them move about the resort with the many other kids with families. The beach/pool activities staff went out of their way to add fun and some structure to a very relaxing, leave-your-worries-behind week, from morning stretch to volleyball to activities for kids. The buffet food service was epic each day with many choices from gringo food to fresh, local, and flavorful! Enjoyed dinner reservations three nights as well. Drinks were delicious and bar service abundant. The front desk, hospitality staff, servers, bartenders, and lifeguards were excellent and their positive attitude pays off. Other notable activities: an excellent deep tissue massage and kid hair braids at the resort Spa. There were easy-to-book additional activities through the resort such as a banana boat ride, snorkeling, and scuba boats coming in and out each day. Unique family shows every night. The rustic rooms are small but refreshed beautifully everyday by housekeeping. If you're ready for a playful family resort, see you at Allegro! …
Had a wonderful experience! The staff and food exceeded our expectations. Rooms were a little smaller with limited storage options. Loved the hammocks on the front porch! Got alot of use during our stay.
This was my first time at Allegro Cozumel with my family who has been coming here for 3 years. Angel, Christian, Eliezer, David and Eric were so fun to hangout with by the beach and the shows at night. Jonathon is the best lifeguard with older guests and kids. Henri was quick to bring us drinks on the beach from the Santa Rosa lounge. Friars always made the best margaritas for me at the swim up bar! Overall an amazing experience. Angel and Christian were great hosts and made us feel special the entire time.
