I have been to a few RIU hotels now but this has to be the best. check was fairly quick and painless but I didn't realise you had an environmental tax to pay at check in which was around £23. The room was lovely and big with a huge balcony but we were right next to the party pool which to be honest we were at all the parties so didn't matter to us but if you want a quiet holiday make sure you ask to be in a quiet room. The fridge was stocked daily with drinks which was nice. We never had a working safe or iron the whole time we were there. we asked about the safe 3 times and in the end we juat locked the valuables in the case. food The buffet was lovely and could always find something. The steak restaurant was my favourite by far. The Mexican was okay and we missed the gourmet as I heard had reviews. We also liked the Indian/chinses. Entertainment We really loved the theme parties and were so unique. Make sure you take something for the white, pink, jungle, and neon party. The beach is beautiful, and did not struggle for sunbeds at all the whole time we were there. We did venture out to Cancun, and it was 1 dollar on the bus, but this was an experience in itself and was offered certain substances within seconds. You couldn't look in the shops as we were constantly harassed and the gifts were sooooo expensive compared to other places I have been. I was disappointed as it wasn't what I remembered. The alcohol and drinks selection is massive, and you won't be dissaponued. The sports bar has the most lovely latte. All in all, we had an amazing time and would return return again, child free. In my opinion, this is a cold free hotel. The staff were also lovely and worthy of tips but you still get a good service regardless. The refurb was well worth it. We will be back at some point 😄

Hotel's Favorite
The hotel was fabulous. All staff very courteous, welcoming and smart in appearance. The hotel room was very spacious and well equipped with a free mini bar, iron, ironing board, free safe, TV and plenty of plug and USB ports . The fridge was restocked with water and soft drinks every other day. All of the bars were well manned and we didn’t have to wait long for service. The pool bar was fab! Very busy. So close to the sea within 50 metres I’d say. There is a bureau de change and they will change any currency but we only had to change large notes to smaller ones. There were plenty of daily activities but we chose to watch rather than participate. Internal spa offers all manner of services but they are a tad expensive. PayPal is preferred but they do take cash and card aswell. Be prepared to tip! For a group of six we were tipping either $5 or 70-80 pesos each time we were altogether at any of the bars or the restaurants. The main restaurant was exceptional. Out of the other restaurants we only tried the Chinese restaurant, and this was only once as we didn’t really like the food. Nothing wrong with it but just our taste. If you go off site go in a group and take off any jewellery. And if you plan to visit anywhere make sure it’s a planned excursion. On our last day we had to leave the room at 12noon but we’re given full use of the facilities until we left. If we ever travel to Cancun again we will be staying here! Highly recommended.

Me and my partner stayed here for 10 nights in November, our first time in Mexico. We loved the fact everything has been recently renovated, everything was lovely and clean. All rooms are sea view rooms, we had a room overlooking the lagoon and the sea which was great. Plenty of drink choices in the room, and restocked every other day. All the staff were really friendly, and very helpful. The buffet restaurant had a great selection of food, something for everyone even the fussiest of eaters. We used the ‘al a carte’ Asian, Mexican and Steakhouse. Bare in mind Asian is full buffet style but the food was really tasty. Mexican was buffet starter and deserts but made to order mains, we didn’t enjoy the food in here that much and preferred the Mexican food served in the buffet. Steakhouse is fully ‘al a carte’ we ate here twice during our stay as we enjoyed it so much. There is also a gourmet restaurant but we didn’t get chance to try that. Huge selection of drinks, definitely try the frozen margaritas!! Entertainment wise there is always something going on. 4 days a week they do themed parties. Always lots of activities happening during the day. We tried a few times to watch the entertainment at night but found the music so loud in the theatre room. Download the RIU app so you can see info on the activities etc before you arrive! This isn’t the most relaxing resort, so if you want to totally relax it may not be the place for you. We usually go to adult only hotels and they can be rather boring at times. This is one of our favourite holidays we have ever been on, we never got bored once, but also came home feeling like we had a really nice break.

We spent 5 nights/6 days at Riu Caribe. Every staff member we came in contact with was so warm and welcoming. Any questions we had were quickly answered. The resort was so clean and fresh. Our room was beautiful and the ocean view did not disappoint! The food was great and there was a nice variety of restaurants to choose from.

We went on a family vacation, arriving at the RIU Caribe on November 9. Our group consisted of my wife and myself along with our two daughters and their families. Our first contact at the Caribe was with Carla at the concierge desk. She personified the warm and courteous service that we received for the entire week. Everyone was extremely helpful. This made our trip a special one. Our three couples were celebrating milestone anniversaries and we were thrilled to have rooms on the sixth floor with each room having a gorgeous ocean view. The rooms like the entire complex was immaculate, very well furnished and exceptionally clean. The hotel has been designed very well. Everything is within close walking distance. We have heard that in some other hotels in Cancun there is a 10-15 minute walk to get to the beach. At the Cariibe it only took a couple of minutes. The beach itself was very nice with many beach loungers. We walked on the beach past other hotels Our beach was definitely the best. Others that we saw had difficult access with rocks surrounding the beach and very little swimming area. We really appreciated that no reservations were required at the specialty restaurants. They all were very good. We were able to visit each one and enjoyed them all. The buffet restaurant, Coral, was also very good. Breakfasts and lunches were great. There was a restaurant adjacent to the swim up bar where burgers, , hot dogs nachos and fries were available. The bars served whatever you asked for. They even had Caesars and customized them according to my preference. The pool bar was very popular. At the Sports bar there were pool tables and also large TVs to watch various sports. The entertainment staff was wonderful, organizing various tournaments which included darts,. Bocci ball, cornhole, pingpong and even an iron man competition. The entertainment at the Calypso theatre was very good although at times a bit loud. There was nothing scheduled on the nights that the pool parties were on. Our granddaughter attended all four of the parties, pink, white, jungle and blue and really enjoyed them. Our hotel rooms were really soundproof and for those that didn't go to the parties, we weren't djsturbed. Both the pool bar and the pool ladies are restricted to those 18 years and older. When checking in, you are given a colored bracelet which shows if you are an adult or not. This was our first "family" trip since the pandemic. We had a ,great time and this was in large way due to the wonderful sfaff. They are genuinely nice.I this made our vacation very soecial.

Myself and my friend have just got back from an 11 night stay at Riu Caribe and are both very sad to be back. The weather, location and hotel all exceeded expectations. It’s a little far from the airport but once you arrive absolutely everything is taken care of. The hotel was recently renovated - only this summer - and it’s simply beautiful throughout. The only real exception was the entertainment theatre / bar ‘Calypso’ which still wears the old decor and makes you wonder how they ever sold rooms here before the renovation. The buffet serves a wide selection of food and there’s always plenty of fresh meat, vegetarian and Mexican dishes to try. There’s also specialty restaurants which operate on a ‘first come, first served’ basis but you can join a wait list and you’re not limited to how often you choose to use them during your stay. These are prettier and more intimate than the buffet restaurant but food is of a similar standard. The hotel has three pools, one with a poolside bar. There’s also a 24 hour sports bar off the lobby serving light meals and drinks. Also off the lobby there is a small shop selling essentials as well as tourist souvenirs. It’s expensive but the selection is good. Also on offer are activities like dance classes and aqua aerobics as well as the Riu Party which takes place at the neighbouring Riu property. At the Caribe there is also a good (but small) gym and a pretty (but very expensive) spa. We chose against any treatments as simply couldn’t justify $100+ for a massage which was a shame as the facilities did look nice. Besides the all inclusive offering is already so generous that you don’t necessarily feel the need to go for more. If you did want a massage, there are other places locally and the buses run regularly in both directions and cost a meagre $1 regardless of distance travelled. All in all, this hotel delivers pretty much on every level. I like to keep it interesting and try new places but I’d still happily return to the Caribe at any time. To all the staff, management etc. putting in the work to deliver a fantastic holiday to all, thank you.

This was a great trip for my partner and I, everyone at the front desk was informative and helpful! Daniella helped me out on the phone prior to coming over and then introduced herself when we arrived! And it was greatly appreciated! We also had a room switch during the trip which was nice and the breakfast buffet never disappointed. The only draw back was never receiving the Birthday package we were told about.

Newly renovated rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable and the blackout blinds are great, couldn't hear any noise outside or from other rooms next door during the night. Our room did smell of sulphur on occasions and the fan does make a noise which you can't switch off so some light sleepers may struggle. Overall we slept really well but had to sleep in the separate beds because each double bed was too small. Our fridge was stocked well and the room cleaned daily. Food was plentiful and lots of choice. It was lukewarm most of the time and a bit bland for my liking but that could just be my taste. Best food we had was the steak in the gourmet restaurant nearest the main entrance lobby. Lovely white sand beach and pool bar, the only issue we had was the amount of people bringing down their own large speaker so you ended up listening to 3 different types of music at once which was a bit annoying. The RIU parties were great, lots of effort went into them with different music genres playing throughout the party. All staff were amazing and although we tipped on most occasions the odd time we didn't we were still treated with the same high level of service. We enjoyed our holiday as a couple but it would probably suit bigger groups better. Don't expect any peace and quiet on the beach or pool so if you want that this isn't the place for you.
