It's January 13, cold in the room, and there is NO HEAT. It's going down to 54 degrees F tonight. No heat and no space heaters available. Rooms are nice enough--small, no microwaves or refrigerators--but appear clean, and the staff is very nice, but we're freezing! Kind of cancels out the good. Except for the no microwave and refrigerator, it would probably be fine in the summer if you're not staying long. Rooms are too small for a long stay. Someone described this as a businessman's hotel. I would agree. Internet is good.
Please do not get a massage here. My mom and I had a double massage here together a few weeks ago. Our masseuse’s were unprofessional and inexperienced. It was basically a lotion application and it was very intrusive and completely inappropriate. We have both sent letters to corporate headquarters explaining in detail our terrible experience; we still waiting to hear back.
Rooms were clean, it is on the beach. The bar and Carlos are good, the restaurant is iffy- breakfast was totally carbohydrates, nothing for just protein, supper was not great either. Only 50 rooms, narrow lot, not good for a long stay but ok for a couple of days.
We had to stay here for 3 nights after our flight home was cancelled and the airline booked us into the BW. The WIFI was limited and we really had wished there had been a mini frig in the room, but the staff were polite and the hotel although dated was very clean. What we did like was how close the hotel was to some great restaurants (El Capitano and Ristorante Villa Italia) and a fun bar (Gus&Gus)
The section of the city is excellent with the hotel right on the beach. The staff are wonderful and the amenities top notch. nightlife and culture are right outside the door and there are good restaurants in the area too. I would return.
