If you love El Centro and have simple requirements, this place is 5 stars. You can’t beat the location—sit on your balcony and people watch the malecon. Retreat to the effective air conditioning. Then head out to the restaurants, stroll around etc. The staff is great, the courtyard is ancient and lovely. Cons: there’s only the two beds. No other furniture, no fridge, and low water pressure. No elevator, pack light. This was our first time there and we loved it. We bought day passes at Hotel Playa Mazatlan when we wanted that palapa lifestyle, but we preferred the bustle of el Centro for our home base.
Loved this hotel. Very good location and staff is very friendly. Would definitely stay here again. Beach view room are beat. All restaurants and shopping area is walk in distance. Recommend this with family or friends.
Very nice place!! I miss it already, great food, happy hour, pool and beach is right there. I didn’t even want to leave resort. I wish I could have stayed longer. Our room had air condition and a refrigerator. It was spacious! Staff were all wonderful!!
Reception was very efficient when we arrived. Our room was facing the beach and looked a bit tired. Paintwork was scratched but everything worked, although the shower head was in need of a good poking as the water only came out of about half the holes. This is the sort of hotel room that doesn't have a fridge or crisp sheets, but it was spacious and clean. The downside to having a nice view is that it comes with all the noise at night of a party town and a main road for cars with very loud music.
The rooms are clean and nice sized with nice views. On weekends the street noise is awful because the oceanview rooms are right above the street/malecon. I don’t understand the need to blast music from cars and pulmonias going up and down the street. Things start to quiet down on Sunday nights around eleven pm. One of the prominently advertised services is the presence of the “Shrimp Bucket” bar and restaurant. It’s closed. The staff tells me “maybe it will be remodeled.” In fairness, there are plenty of bars and restaurants very close by, including right next door. If you want, need, and expect decent WiFi service, this is not the hotel for you. It’s horrible. My first room had no service at all. I was moved to a room with “service” but it was unreliable at best. There is more than one WiFi signal but they all share the exact same marginal signal strength. There are frequent maddening dropouts. I was told by a staff member that they always experience “difficulties” when there are a lot of guests. (There didn’t seem to be a lot of guests when I was there.) Again, the rooms are fine (with the exception of horrible sewer gas in the bathrooms at times.) The A/C worked very well. The staff is polite and helpful. No complaints. The hotel is right on the Malecón and within short walking distance to numerous bars and restaurants, a great location. Admittedly, there is nothing much the hotel can do about the street noise, but if they fixed their significant WiFi issues I would happily rate it higher. I do wish the Shrimp Bucket was still open. It was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. They need to take it off of their website.…
