The hotel is located in a scenic bay and the bungalow rooms are pretty with a rustic, natural feel and spectacular views (and comfortable beds!). However, it feels like the owners are trying to sell a high end holiday and hide a lot of information. To get to the hotel its about 45-60 min drive along road and dirt track. The return transfer is 1000PHP (per person!) which we weren't told when organising and found extortionate. You do get driven in a brand new 4x4 pickup truck, but the owners also use this journey to transport family, staff and/or supplies and only offer two transfer times a day. They also refused another couple a transfer to catch the same flight as us even though there should have been 2 spare seats (another member of staff got dropped in town instead). They made the couple spend one of their nights at the cheaper hotel in town. This is not a location to stay if you wish to reach town, you should expect to spend the entire duration in borac bay. There is also no where else to eat so be prepared to pay for lunch and dinner in the hotel at around 400php per meal per person (cash only). The food is good with freshly caught fish plus meat, veg and rice at each meal. Expect some canned veg/fruit and powdered drink at breakfast (water with lunch/dinner). If you are vegetarian you should email beforehand because otherwise you will be hungry! Be aware that there is work on a new peer happening across the bay and there will be machinery noise at night until
12pm (not their fault and the owner has asked them to stop after midnight). They offer kayak at 500php for the day, massage for 500php and a boat and driver for 1500php per person. We were very excited when we got here and left feeling confused, we loved the place and the area and expected a slow 2 nights before flying home so it could have been perfect. The local staff are lovely and helpful and some prices are reasonable but we left feeling a bit like the owner and manager see us as walking cash machines and are not very upfront.

you get to experience paradise even for a couple of days and escape the hustle & bustle of city life. No internet & electricity, lights & fans are solar powered, but no worries, because you are after all there to unwind. How would you like to wake up to amazing views of the sea, and hills just like Bohol, only this time they are surrounded by serene waters, oh, and your bungalows, very cozy and with picturesque windows looking out the sea, you don"t want to leave your rooms. Amazing staff, and a very friendly & accommodating owner Jim. Can't wait to go back to this place next year, again with my wife, but this time with our kids as well.

We chose Borac Bay because of the nice discreption and pictures of the Hotel/Spa. But going to Borac Bay was horrible the infrastructure is not yet finish, they forced us to take their Van for 600pesos. The standardroom costs 3000pesos and the Bungalow which have a very beautiful view costs 4000pesos/night. But the Television was not functioning and their is no electricity coming out the outlets because they only have Solarsystem which can only charge a Mobilephone. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is only available in Borac Bay

If you want get ripped off by a not honest owner, you should go there.

The first thing is that the description is not true:
- there is no private beach, and don't expect to swim as the place is full of gelly fishes
- there is no wellness center or spa, but only a room in which you can get a massage
- the description dors not say that this place is so remote, with such a difficult road to access it that you simply rely on the staff if you want to go to coron. Ans they make you pay EACH TIME 1000PHP per traveller round way. Insane!
- they do not talk about all the additional costs: 1000 php to go to coron (if the unique 4x4 is not already used by a someone, otherwise you'll have to wait they come back), 400 PHP per meal but as it is remote you don't have choice but to eat there. 500 for renting a kayak, 700 to rent a scooter ( while the average price is 500 normally)
-cleaning is not done: we have left for few days, when we came back the room was in the exact same state that when we left that place.
- we almost missed our tour because the cat was already used: we had to beg the owner to find a solution: she eventually called a motorbike taxi, but it took 20 mins of negotiations to get there.
- no Wi-Fi but no network too: so booking any kind of tour is just a hassle.

The good points are that the view is amazing and the food freshly prepared.
I think it is the worst place I even visit in my life: I always had the feeling of just being a kind of ATM for them, and I also felt like the horrible occidental tourist complaining, however after talking with other guests we just realized this feeling was shared by them too. It is simply not acceptable to not be honest about the description and prices. This is just the bare minimum.

To conclude, this place described as a remote place, amazing to rest is literally a trap, a jail in which you will be locked and force to pay. If you want to enjoy your holidays, avoid this place at any cost.

The description of the hotel is fake. There is no wellness center or spa, you can ask for a massage for 500 pesos but the wellness center doesn’t exist. They also said that there is a private beach, which is wrong. You can’t go in the beach cause it’s full of jelly fish. Then the owner will tell you you can go in the island in front of the hotel for 1,500 php per person, which is unacceptable. You are really isolated (1h from Coron and the road is not even finished) with nothing around you. The owners will make you pay everything at a high price : 400 pesos for the dinner, 1000 pesos per person to go to the town. You are there and you are basically stuck so you have no choice but to pay. In addition to that, there is no network so you can’t call anyone to get out of there or just to book a tour. When we asked the owner if we could make a phone call to book a tour she said we can’t call this number because this is a number using Globe network and she can only call Smart network phones. You are a hotel owner, please just get a phone line, this is just basics. We finally succeeded to book a tour but the owner has only one car to do the transfer from the hotel to coron city and the car was already taken by other guests. So we missed the tour obviously because we needed to be in coron for 8am and we were there at 9:30am. They also don’t clean your room, the shower is cold (which is fine) but not for that price. This place is so expensive for what it is. We felt so isolated, trapped and scammed that we decided to leave after one night even if we already paid. Other guests felt the same way, I am wondering if those other reviews are fake.

We booked a long stay in Coron Town and did all the tours offered, we searched the map to find an adventure and had a road trip in whole part Busuanga Island, we stumbled at Borac Bay Bungalows Resort far east of Busuanga Island via dirt road and was stunned by the amazing view and tranquility of the place, we inquired and booked as walk in for 2 nights as the personnel in charge explained to us that there is nothing to do much, just a day tour and Exclusive Island Tour because it is far from Coron Town.

Upon check in, we are greeted by their nice staff and their signature welcome drinks (lemon grass flavored fruit juice) it was so refreshing, our challenging trip is worth wile. We stayed in Bungalow #3 because it was the best location with sea view and mountain view. It is also very windy and cold at night even if we turned off the fan, (take not they don not have AC because they are run by solar panels, just open your door at night, it is safe don`t worry you are the only people there and their other guest).

We availed their day tour in the afternoon of our arrival and did the kayak and paddle board around Borac Bay, it was worth it and scenic. We did the exclusive island tour the next day after our sumptuous breakfast we went to Diwaran Island w/c I consider an all in one, corals, turtles, large fishes and a fine sand beach, even if you run naked no other people there except us and their boatman who is just sleeping and guarding the boat. Their lunch inclusive in our tour is fine, just a grilled fish and chicken BBQ but why eat a lot? We need more time to swim than to eat. All in all it was quite a bit pricey @ pHp1500/pax for the whole day but it is super worth it compared to what we experienced.

You can order lunch and dinner, all their food are fresh and yummy, we just known that their chef came from other countries and just want to settle in their

TIPS i learned from them while we are staying:*

If your are coming from Elnido:
-Ride a tricycle outside the port and tell them you are going to their sister hotel Casa Montemar Coron Town(50php/pax)

If your are coming from the airport
-Ride their van bound to their sister hotel casa montemar in Coron Town(150/pax)

From Casa Montemar, You can select a:

-private van going to Borac Bay (500/pax)

-public van going to Borac Bay (200/pax) leaves only @ 11am in Coron Town Monday - Saturday only

-rent a dirt bike in Coron town and take Borac Road Route

The property is an off the grid resort, they use solar panels and water gravity and they help in promoting our ecological tourism.

They offer exclusive tour for sight seeing sites such as beaches, island and sand bar near Borac Bay.

If you are willing to be isolated and enjoy a tranquil place. This is the perfect choice.

If you are eyeing for Coron Island Tour and other sightseeing tour offered in Coron Town, this is not the ideal place. Better cancel your reservation if you already book there or else your vacation will be ruin.

Spent a couple of days at Borac Bay with a friend after three days of adventure in Coron. Our experience at Borac Bay was the best. The view was amazing, the food was delicious and the staff were very nice and helpful. It’s off the grid so this is the place to unwind and relax, the perfect ending to our Coron trip. The boat ride to Marcilla was an added bonus. We also had in-room massage. Will definitely come back. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Coron.

Coron is well heard not only in the philippines but around the world as well, and people flock to this place called Hidden Paradise .I have been working hard this past few months so I decided to have a break and tried Coron Palawan last November with my family and stayed at Borac Bay Bungalow and Spa.Its approximately 17 kms from Coron proper. The staff are friendly and ready to assist you with your needs.. Rooms are clean and all Bungalow are solar powered. The owner "JIM" was so accommodating. When we were there, passing birds are the only noise that disturbs the tranquility of Borac Bay.The signal of both Globe and Smart are weak. So if you want to unwind and refrain from hearing your cellphone from ringing all the time ,this is the place in Coron. Food is superb .Local food is something you should try.We had breakfast while enjoying the view.

We spend our holiday in Borac Bay for 4 Days and it was horrible! The Resort is not yet finished their is nothing besides the nice view. Swimming in front of the resort is impossible because of the poisonous jellyfish! The public Supermarket from Coron is not 17 km rather 30km!! The Manager was very unfriendly and trying to make more money!!! We did not even met the boss in that 4 Days which was very unnormal because it was quite new! Nevertheless the staff was very helpful and friendly( Nene,Atan and Saldi). The rate of 4Star is not worth it! And I even think that the other comments are fake!

Their is a nice Island with a beautiful Beach called Diniwaran but they Charge 2500-3000 pesos/ Boat. Food is not included. Swimming infront of Borac Bay is quit dangerous because of the Jellyfish.
