We booked in another hotel however found out last minute that they cancelled our booking. Luckily, the Ocean Bay Beach Resort they had a spare room – upon arrival found out the room not cleaned so ended up staying one of the standard rooms. I can hear lot of noise from outside so hardly sleep. The room required lots of work, good clean and perhaps revamp. I stayed there 15yrs ago and the place was stunning – sadly doesn’t look like it anymore.

We meant to stay for 4 nights however the room available is not our liking, no safe and the quality of the room so we decided to check out. The receptionist very help after all.

Response from Matt-OceanBay, Public Relations Manager at Ocean Bay Beach Resort
Responded Jan 11, 2020
Hi SStaley, Thank you for taking the time to rate and write a review of our resort, it is greatly appreciated. I am sorry to hear though that you felt the room needed a revamp and a good clean. We do redecorate our rooms once or even sometimes twice a year, from top to bottom and the Standard Rooms were last done in February 2019. So yes it is due to be done in the next few weeks again. As for the cleaning, I can only apologize if you felt it was not up to standard and I will be speaking with the housekeeping staff to make sure they are still maintaining the high standards that we expect from them and set for them. Unfortunately I do not have the time to inspect every room for cleanliness, but I try to do my best to do as many as I can. I am not sure what noise you heard outside your room, most of our guests are in their rooms by 10 PM until 6 AM and we have a security guard on duty throughout the night to prevent any issues from arising. Thank you though for your review, Best Regards, Matt.

Ocean Bay in Dalaguete will be in my memories because my rush days got very slow in this place...
I had a wonderful time...
The pool is very well designed and clean...
You have a beautiful view from this resort and I loved the alternatives I had in the restaurant and in the village very close...
The price is very worth and accommodations are very good...
The lovely staffs are there up to make you very comfortable with everything...
I recommend and hope to have a new opportunity to go again!!!

If you want peace, relaxation and a reasonably priced resort to explore the southern part of Cebu Island this is the place. The staff are friendly speak a good english and were willing to help me with every question i had. I stayed in the cheapest room - double bed T.V and shower room. yes there is is only four channels on the T.V but i came to relax and unwind not to watch the television. My room was made on a daily basis fresh sheets and towels and cleaned. The T.V worked fine but i didn't come to watch television. The beach which is private, cleaned on a regular basis is mainly sandy and safe for children, the shallow waters run out about 50 meters allowing you to paddle in complete safety. I enjoyed snorkelling out from the beach to watch the myriad of fish swimming close to the shore my only regret here was not seeing the local turtle who prowls the sea on a regular basis I'm told. In places the resort looks a little tired but maintainence staff where there improving the resort every day. The food is well cooked and a good price - perhaps the menu could do with a little updating?? but overall i found the resturant to be clean and tidy. the swimming pool is a good size and ideal for the family to relax and enjoy with its Bar-B-Que. Would i recommend this resort to others? - yes of course and I'm looking to return to Cebu later this year and I'm sure my base will be at the Ocean Bay Resort again.

we booked ocean bay on the strength of their web site & because it is close to the family.
the pictures & description on the web hve no relationship with the reality of the place.
when we checked in 2 lads assisted us with our luggage to the room, which is the only plus point.
the room had not been prepared for our arrival, was dirty with dead cockroach on the floor, the 'white' sheets on the bed were at best grey,
the 'kitchen' has no utensils, kettle, cooker or microwave, indeed a notice forbade cooking in the rooms.
the curtains were ancient, the telly had not been installed & the lads had extreme difficulty trying to get it to work. the lock on the door was very dodgy & the key was already bent. the outside areas looked unkept & in part dangerous.
as it was Sunday we attended church in the afternoon & on the way back booked in to Bodos and immediately transfered.
even though we hadn,t used the room they refused to refund any of our 2000peso deposit. we will return to Dalguette but will not even set foot in Ocean bay ever again

By far the worst hotel ive been! The place is too far from the city or even the downtown. The place os nice although the place is nice, the beach front is terrible!!!! When it rains it becomes muddy (now i know why they had to put the pool) the wifi doesnt work inside the rooms. Scratch that....nothing works at this place. They have a lot of things but none of them works (even the workers) the food is terrible! Everything is terrible i dont know how we found this horrid place! Yes, they do have recreation--a pool table that is not properly leveled, a dart board that doesnt have a dart, a bar that doesnt play any music or have any exhaust (cause they refuse to turn on the aircon). The employees are the worst! I asked for a sunny side up and they gave me a well done wuoth my breakfast! Give yourselves a favoir and STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! By the way, this place has no cable connection... What do you expect, they are in the middle of no where!

My wife and I recently stayed at this "resort" and we were very disappointed. First the good, the ocean view was very nice. The pool was nice and clean, so no complaints about the outside. The room was a nightmare. The bed springs were broken and the bed kept forcing both me and my wife towards the center of the bed. The sheets were very old and felt like they had been washed hundreds of times. The bed cover was a color that I can't describe, and felt thread bare. There was no sink in the bathroom and you had to brush your teeth in the kitchen sink, as well as shave. No mirror in the bathroom either. No telephone to even call the front desk and the tv had no cable and only picked up 3 channels all in Filiipino and I don't speak it. The plastic chairs were very old and extremely discolored. The restaurant served food that looked nothing like the pictures in the menu. I ordered grilled pork chops and they were so tough, I couldn't cut them with a knife. The french fries were ok but the ketchup tasted like they had made it there rather than buy in a store. When we checked out, nobody thanked us for our stay, nobody asked us how we liked the stay, all they wanted to do was overcharge us for the guests we had come to visit us for a few hours. That's right, they charge you 80 pesos just to have visitors. Other than all this and the two stray dogs and two stray cats that seemed to live there, I would rate this resort a one star. I will never go back nor will I recommend to anyone. Quite the opposite.

Stayed at this outdated and unfriendly hotel in December. The family room we were unfortunate enough to stay in was drity and in a poor state of repair. Although the restaurant area looks like it has recently been refurbished the food was expensive (watch out service charge and vat not included in menu price) and was slow to arrive. The beach area is rocky and muddy and would not advise swimming there. We definitely wont be returning. Terrible value for money - wish i had slept in the car!!!

We had a very rowdy group booking. They became very abusive to the extend that I had to treaten them that I would get the police. I told some people to leave the resort Obviously this is the way they try to revenge. Am happy to go into the details if you wish.

we been here last sept. 10, 2014.. i booked here coz i saw it online its really nice place, looks good to me.. but when i arrived this place, it wasnt that good as in the picture.Beach so dirty and also rooms are dirty, you cant used water there to brush teeth coz the water is so salty, looks like they just get water from the ocean and put on their water tank so tht guess can used it. Besides, their restaurant is not good,i ordered carbonara and it was really salty..they only had few menu to serve. Im sorry but i was really disappointed with their management, most of their staff are not nice to their guest. You cant go outside your room coz no lights, and it was scary! i cant recommend this resort to my friends, and also no wifi inside.. you have to go to the lobby area to get wifi.

When I checked into the room I was met with a sour-faced lady at the front desk. I wanted to check in f0r 8 nights but it seemed like I was upsetting her by making her do any work.
For the money the room is ok, the aircon is good but the tv only has 4 filipino channels. The shower comes out like a sprinkler, the toilet seat was broken, and the bathroom light didn't work.
There were several dozen flies in my room so i asked the front desk lady if she could send an employee in with a fly swatter to take care of the problem. There were 6 employees sitting outside texting, so i didn't think it would be an issue to have one of them actually do some work. When I came back to my room I discovered that instead of using a fly swatter they just sprayed insect killer all over the room, bed, walls, and ceiling. I immediately took all the sheets off the bed and threw them in the hallway, opened the window and door, and went back to the front desk. It took them over two hours to put new sheets on the bed but in the meantime I developed a nasty headache from the insect spray.
This is a cheap hotel and I will never stay here again. I heard from some people at the beer garden that the owner's wife runs the place and she is running the place into the ground. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!

Hi Vhon, You need to go to the South Bus Terminal in Cebu City, and ask security that you want a bus going to Dalaguete, you will get a choice of three bus companies, I would go for the Ceres Air-Con they are the yellow ones. The cost is about 120 pesos per person. Just tell any bus conductor that you want to Ocean Bay Beach Resort and they will drop you off right outside our entrance. Thank you,

I guess so Bob you can get a huge bargain from their posted tariffs. Try to contact directly the owner in this FB page: Ocean Bay Beach Resort. He normally replies to queries and stuff...
