Every time I'm there I am so taken by the charm of 8 heritage houses and I staying in one of them. My bungalow was a complete cozy home. There was a spacious open dining room facing the sea. The food was typical of the north, bountiful and delicious. Despite a feeling of splendid isolation, the tourist attractions were nearby....

Sitio Remedios is a good stop before going to any of your Ilocos adventures like Pagudpod. It is also an interesting find, as the owner loves art and he surrounded the place with it. The bungalows are made of materials from old houses and pieced together. The bungalow we stayed at has 2 rooms, each room has a bathroom, a...

This was my 2nd time at this idyllic paradise. I had a wonderful experience the first time I visited so I brought my family so they can share that wonderful experience too. The place is nestled in Currimao, a sleepy town in Ilocos Norte. But the moment you enter the gates of Sitio Remedios, you will be transported back to...

We were a group of 15 Canadians on a medical mission in the Philippines. We stayed a couple of nights at Sitio, and occupied 2 houses plus the dorm-style housing for our younger doctors. The resort was conceived and is owned by our legendary neurology professor, Dr. Joven Cuanang. The layout is based on a typical Filipino town with the...

You know how Cinderella was all lucky when she met her fairy godmother who granted her wish and she met Prince Charming then they got married and lived happily ever after? Well, I'm luckier. 2 weeks ago I met a guy, FE, in a bus on the way to Ilocos Norte. I say that I was lucky because the accommodations...

A group of ten of us from the UK stayed here recently for a wedding (the reception being held here), and to say it was basic, would be an understatement. (Be aware to bring a suitable adaptor as the electricity plugs use a two pin flat style). No television, no radio, no telephone, perfect for getting away from "bad news"!...

We travelled here to attend a traditional Filipino wedding and it was absolutely amazing. The first thing that I would say is don't travel here if you are looking for all of the mod cons and home comforts, this is traditional Ilocano living and it should be embraced. For example the only air conditioning is in the bedrooms, the main...

When we visited, there was a low pressure area hovering over the province so we were practically the only ones there. There were lots of rain on our first day but we enjoyed reading books inside our cottage. My friend mostly stayed inside the room while I stayed at the outside area where there was a four poster bed with...

A hidden gem. Sitio Remedios is not that prominent when you search the internet for places to stay when traveling Northern Luzon. Currimao, where Sitio Remedios is located, is probably not a top destination in this part of the island either. But take it from me. Eschew the more "common" places to visit. Take the literal plunge, fork out the...

It definitely captured the quaintness of an old town. The ambiance is quite romantic. Our stay was marred by the weather. It rained the 4 days/3 nights we were there. There were several leaks in the bathroom. Another factor that left a sour taste in my mouth was the dishonesty of whoever prepared our final bill. This should have been...
