Pirates room in the first building bottom floor are HORRIBLE! I am Super annoyed that during an 11 day stay someone decided to downgrade me to a end building bottom floor facing bushes for the last 4 days of my stay. Shame on Bluebeards for how they treat regular customers who use thier propert bi-monthly for business. I DO NOT Recommend This place any more!! The manager thought that I should care that an owner came to take my original unit so I should be ok with the basement unit facing the bushes with the front part of the tub on tbe floor when I entered the room. VERY DISAPPOINTED with service and management at Bluebeards. You Have Been Warned!!
We stayed only for one night to get on a boat trip and this was the most convenient hotel and priced appropriately. We were pleasantly surprised as we got connecting larger rooms with gorgeous views, kitchenettes and washer/dryer - given our short stay didn't use it but it seemed like a perfect fit for larger families. Food was limited in the middle of the week to the pool bar but the service was excellent (at the pool bar and the gentlemen driving the carts). Reception offered to get us rooms together on their own so proactive.
The stay for my family and I was great. It started with the great customer service I received from the front desk to the bellmen, great people. In addition the location was ideal and easy for us to get to and from. I would recommend this to anyone. Also the view from the room was spectacular.
We enjoyed our stay here , The service in the restaurant / pool side bar was great . The food was also great . Our room was updated and clean . My only two complaints are old bathroom and lots of stairs . Stairs to go everywhere .
Good stuff—great view, room was big and fairly kept up (#400s), pool area was great, bar service was good. Staff in golf carts were very friendly. Downside—steps everywhere! You have to walk up and down 3 flights depending on room, two flights up to pool, a flight more to office. Confusing finding check in area. No signs or maps in room. Front desk was not very nice rooms didn’t all have the same amount of Utensils, etc. one of our rooms hand the dry wall fall from ceiling into tub. They did move us to a new room. Roosters everywhere and crowing all the time.
Very sad writing this review. We have stayed at bluebeards (pirates pension) many times in the past but will not do so in the future. Check in was chaotic. It has always been hit or miss here but one of the really annoying things was the front desk staff telling me it was taking so long because of the how thorough they were cleaning due to Covid but in the room we found unwashed dirty dishes and the dishwasher was not working. We called maintenance and were told it would be fixed but it remained broken, filled with stagnant water throughout our entire stay. These problems were irritating but, to be honest, they are not the reason we wont come back. Bluebeards is a drive away from the beaches so a car rental really helps but they always had a lovely swimming pool with a waterfall. On "lazy" days or days when shopping downtown in the mornings we always enjoyed spending time just enjoying the pool and lounge chairs. Since the hurricane they decided to rebuild the swimming pool so that it is only a wading pool. It is literally 3 1/2 feet at the deepest point and virtually unuseable as a swimming pool. I cannot begin to imagine the logic that went into the decision making process to do this. The few times we passed by the "pool" we did not see anyone trying to use it. Obvious, at least to us, a resort that is not close to a beach needs a real swimming pool. This is the reason we will never come back again. I should add there were some very pleasant staff at the resort, but there were also some very rude ones. Near the pool I tried asking one of the waiters a brief question regarding the use of the tables. He looked at me as if I were crazy and then kept on walking The week prior to this we spend at the Flamboyen near Magens bay and had a wonderful experience see my review of that one…
Awesome customer service and the views are amazing. Beautiful pool and outdoor bar area. Rooms are nicely laid out and clean. Come with small kitchenette and stacked washer and dryer. Close to shopping and sites. Definitely will stay here again.
With COVID entry reqirements we wanted somewhere with a generous cancelation policy and found this place. It served us well overall during our stay. A few notes: - Renovations - A fair portion of the place is closed for renovations. We heard no noise that effected our stay. The new rooms (which we recieved) are very nice and perfectly equipped for our needs. - Housekeeping - Please note that there is no in room service at this time due to COVID-19. If you need something you need to call the front desk. For a change of towels (as an example) you place the dirty items in a bag provided outside your door, call the front desk and a while later new, fresh items are provided; - Service - A bit hit or miss here. Most of the staff is very nice, however sometimes when we asked for something (like a roll of toilet paper) it took hours and several follow-up calls to get the requested item. - Views - Yes, a consideration. Villas 1 and 2 have great views of the city and bay. Sunset can be especially nice. - Cats - There are many cats around the property, several of whom are very friendly. - Pool Area - While not crowded during our stay (again, it's during COVID) I can see where it could easily become so. There are nice views from there too, howeve they face south and you cannot see the sunset. - Gym - Well equipped and spacious.…
Great location for our first few days staying on St. Thomas. Close to downtown, clean rooms and exceptional customer service. Even though the grounds are still under construction, the stay was perfect. Would stay here again!
We just arrived a few hours ago and checked into the location at precisely 4 PM. I was a little tired and a little cranky and the people at the front desk were amazing! I was having difficulty hearing them over the Christmas music but they turned it down so everything worked out great! Obviously with Covid they have numerous restrictions and rules that they must follow. Even with a cranky traveler like me they were polite and responsive to everything! So far the location is beautiful and very relaxing! I have to even say the food at the pool bar was delicious!
