#5 of 42 Specialty lodging in St. Thomas
Kick off your flip flops, pick up a cold drink and stay for a while on the US Virgin Islands. Situated on the eastern end of the island, it's easy to relax on property or explore some of the island's favorite attractions nearby. Margaritaville Vacation Club isn't just an incredible beach resort for Jimmy Buffett Parrotheads - it's also your own personal Margaritaville.

The room is nice and clean. The hilltop pool is gorgeous but it gets a little rowdy with the happy hour bar right there. The sales people are really pushy which I wasn't in the mood for after a long flight from Chicago. The Margaritaville restaurant has the most boring menu. I was expecting some local fare but it was just like any restaurant in the states. The drinks are served in little plastic cups and are overpriced for the size at $11. We went to 3 other resorts on the island to experience their food and drinks and they drinks were similarly priced and came in regular drink glasses like you'd get a any bar, a much better value. Victoria, in the dive shop, was very helpful and set us up with diving, a snorkeling trip, and a sunset cruise. We took a day to resort hop at some of the different Wyndham resorts and loved the beaches and restaurants at those very much. I enjoyed my time in St Thomas but I'll never stay at Margaritaville again. It just didn't meet my needs. Additionally, not to any fault of the resort but it's the resort with the biggest problem, seaweed was blowing onto the beach creating a terrible smell and unusable beaches.

We spent our ten day honeymoon in Margaritaville and loved every minute of it. Taylor was our concierge and she ensured we had everything we for the entire stay. We ordered food from VIProvisions which was super helpful but we found ourselves regularly drawn to the excellent atmosphere and service at the two pool bars. Cameron, Kevin, Catherine, Erin, and Eric were all wonderful and kept us coming back again and again! The location is ideal with Coral World and Coki Beach in walking distance as was Shoreline and a quick taxi got us to Red Hook, Magen’s, Compass Pointe, or anywhere we needed! We never had an issue getting a cart to take us from one end of the resort to the other and found the grounds consistently in great shape. Of course, the algae sea grass was distracting but they did their best to keep it cleaned up. Our only complaint were the young children splashing around the adult-only pool but the 2-for-1 happy hour relieved our pain

Gorgeous resort! The grounds and room was wonderful! Two fabulous pools. One near the beach and one on the hillside with a swim up bar. Margaritaville restaurant on site. Four stars only because the beach is not swimmable most of the time because of water quality. Sargassum on this side of Island is very bad. Neither of these can be controlled by the resort. I recommend hillside room for the views and no smell from the seaweed. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had no problems getting golf cart to shuttle us up and down the hill. Never waited more than 5 minutes. Kindness goes a long way on the Island. We have had an amazing time amd would definitely return!

Property was very nice and well maintained. Two pools to choose from. Uphill pool overlooked down on the resort and water. Views were awesome. Pools were nice. Rooms were nice and clean. Free laundry facility for residents. Food was great and reasonably priced for a resort. Best food on the island! Nice little store/market on property as well. good breakfast and last minute pickups.

The good: pretty location. Our room was studio with a reasonable kitchen (microwave, coffee pot, toaster, small full sized refrigerator). Nice bathroom with good light. Lots of outlets and ok free WiFi. They sell a better WiFi but we didn’t look into it. Two pools. The staff is very friendly. The on-site beach isn’t one you’d like to use, but just a few minutes walk is Coki beach, which is delightful. The bad: neither pool has enough chairs and the hilltop pool has no umbrellas. Our room was a bit tired but ok. No housekeeping during your stay. The did deliver fresh towels promptly upon request. Some of the rooms apparently have a more limited kitchen. Some rooms, including ours, don’t have a view. Parking is limited and while we could always find a place for our rental car, I don’t know what they do if they run out. The biggest problem is Wyndam. We’ve had several bad experiences with the company and would recommend being very cautious in dealing with management.
