The advertisement didn’t match what I received. Between the bugs and just overall condition of the room, incredibly old and just had a dirty feel, it had me terrified. The room look like it hasn’t had a deep clean in years. The bed skirt was ripped, and so was under the couch. You could see the moisture on the ceiling and rust on the tub. You could also see super thick layers of dust and dirt between the bed frame and the table. There was no keeping or saving food because the little roaches came out immediately. I should’ve known something was wrong when I saw other people leaving early. I Did end up leaving early after seeing 3+ bugs in one sitting, this was after someone brought up raid and we sprayed the room. I felt fine upon arriving to the island/hotel, but immediately because congested and unable to breathe the longer I stayed in that room. As soon as I checked out and left I slowly started being able to breathe again. I absolutely won’t be returning or booking here again, I’ll spend the extra money and go to King Christian instead.…
Don't let the great location fool you. You'd be better off taking your business elsewhere. We stayed for one night, and that night we weren't able to sleep until way past midnight due to extremely loud party music playing across the street. This was made worse by the fact that we had to catch an early ferry the next morning. While I admit the music is out of the hotel's control, the windows in our hotel room didn't close, meaning there was no way to shut out the extremely loud sounds. I don't think a room with permanently-open windows qualifies as a sleepable accommodation, especially with loud party music right next door. I contacted the hotel about a refund afterward, which I didn't receive because the manager said I didn't contact the front desk the night of my stay. My hazy, 2 am memory does recall trying to call, but it must have been a different number for the hotel because the manager didn't receive anything on her end. Either way, even if we had been re-located to a quieter room, having to change rooms in the middle of the night due to the first room being unsleepable would've anyway resulted in a 1-star review, so nothing short of a refund would really make me change my mind. All in all, avoid this place.…
Book at your own risk! I feel like this place is a scam… My wife and I from Las Vegas booked a suite for our honeymoon with a King bed and couch. However the room we received is 2 double beds and 5 lounge chairs. This is not what we booked or expected. The room is filthy and looks like it hasnt been cleaned in years. There’s a boarded up window and exposed hole where the AC unit drains right over the bed. All furniture looks and feels dirty. The ceiling fans have inches of dust on them. We are not staying here not even one night, we don’t feel comfortable staying here. When we called the office about the bed mix up he said “I don’t know why this keeps happening”. The owner came by and said they couldn’t do anything until the next day and even then a room switch wasn’t guaranteed. For the amount of money they are asking it absolutely doesn’t add up. When we tried to notify the owner that we wouldn’t be staying and need to cancel and dispute, he started sending us straight to voicemail so we started a claim with Expedia to at least get the ball rolling. This was a devastating experience.…
Before I start, this hotel was built in the 1700’s so it’t obviously old but throw in a couple of hurricanes and Covid over the past few years, and it’s not been treated well. I feel for these guys because the staff has been super super nice and accommodating. The property has some history, including the original hand crank elevator (obviously mo longer in use, but cool to see). There is housekeeping service and our late check in was contactless. Limited staff but the entrance requires a code. Our room had the best view (ask for corner room 29 facing the harbor). Our first room was a two story suite with a balcony and view but I think it hadn’t been occupied for some time and just needed a freshen up. We called after 8pm and the manager on call switched us right away. Easy peasy. Not a big deal. If you are looking for amenities, this is not it but we didn’t care. Pool is closed and no breakfast but plenty of places for that just outside the door. The Courtyard next door is also a full on spa with yoga and fitness classes. Fantastic place to fill the amenity void. Plus, who needs a pool when the best one on the planet is steps away? We came for the adventure and views not to stay inside and this place is in a perfect location. 40 Eats and RAW (Rum And Wine Bar) at the street level of the hotel are seriously not to be missed! Amazing food and staff. Thank you Bob and Sharif for accommodating us and being so responsive! My Birthday week has been amazing! :)…
Pictures are NOT current, rooms are very bare. The pool is very run down and closed. Unlike what website states, there is no breakfast and no bar, Windows and doors are open to the elements. Front desk staff is only available about 2 hours a day.
Do not stay at this hotel as the service is the worst I have ever experienced. Be sure to know you do not matter to them and they are a hotel that does not do the right thing for the client. The management is extremely disrespectful and you will not feel valued. When i asked for his supervisor he said i was threatening him. I suppose if you did the right thing you would have nothing worry about Bob. I would still like to speak to your supervisor on your terrible service. Front desk girls are super nice. Too bad they have to work for you.
I stayed here for a very quick vacation. The check in desk is very friendly, but is only open a few hours a day. The suite is very small, no ocean view, the bed is very loud, the shower stall is very small, and the wifi cuts out in the bathroom. I don't think it's worth what I paid. The area is very touristy, so expect loud music until the long hours of the night. The hotel is very close to the pier.
Don't waste your money. My 13YO son's room is cleaner than this place. The staff was offended by our presence. The only good thing is yhe location because it was easy to find things to do so we didn't have to be there.
Although it has great potential, it is badly maintained. Dirty, oldie, and no hot water with no intention to fix it. Hairs, used soap, used clothes, etc. Never seen that before. I tried two different rooms. Probably the worst hotel I've been to. And not cheap! On the good side, there is a breakfast (rare in here), and the personel is nice. Still I would not recommend at all.
Nice location and friendly front desk. After that it went down hill. While it's close to the water the windows don't keep out any noise as they don't close all the way. You hear the crowds from the boardwalk close by until late, then the roosters in the courtyard start crowing around 3:30 in the morning. So if you want to get some sleep, this is not the place. The room also needs lots of maintenance and TLC, is not very clean and just disappointing, especially for the cost, which is crazy high for the room you get. The morning breakfast is a basic as it gets and again, disappointing.
