The Heritage Inn is just what you want if you are looking for the total getaway. The Inn is located on the hilltop of a sleepy village: Carrot Bay, on the north side of Tortola. These comfortable apartments offer probably the most breathtaking views on the island: "voted Best sunset view in the BVI!" 180 degrees east and west and overlooking Jost Van Dyke, Sandy & Green Cays and three Tortola bays. This locally owned inn is quaint and quiet. Each suite has a private view-facing balcony and is furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, living room and AC king-size bed in bedrooms. Three suites have two bedrooms for family or friendly vacationers. Six, clean and comfortable, one bedroom suites also offer enough space to just forget your cares and hang out for a week. The views are so beautiful that most guests just "gape" for the first few days. In the summer the sun sets directly over the water. It is so beautiful that the locals go up for sunset cocktails at the BananaKeet Cafe on the poolside veranda to watch the sun setting over the awesome horizon. It's no wonder the slogan reads... the Higher you Get... the Better the Views!!

The folks at The Heritage Inn went above and beyond to make sure we were doing well. We had never been to Tortola and as this was the slow season, we were the only ones at the hotel for the week. Notes regarding hotel & room: clean, large 2 bdrm, incredible views from the balcony, comfy beds, bedding, and pillows, not walkable to beaches, rent a car or be ready to hire a taxi, decent wifi, Netflix only, water pressure not great, bring groceries, and/or visit their restaurant (open air on site), very nice pool, professional friendly staff. Speaking of the staff, I can't say enough good about them. Fortunately, we were able to meet the owner Desiree in St Thomas and were in touch with her off and on throughout our stay; while at the hotel, Spice, Tia, and Shenique were all lifesavers regarding our questions and requests when needed. We were a tad lost as this was all new and different for us in so many ways. We had waited over 6 years to get a vacation like this and were celebrating our 40th anniversary which was in August. Spice lives on the premises and we were comfortable knowing he was there if we needed him. They all worked tirelessly getting ready to re-open the restaurant and preparing for their busy season. Our favorite beach and snorkeling area was Cane Garden Bay, not too far from the hotel. The water was gorgeous and my husband ended up getting out a bit further in the bay and was able to see Sea Turtles feeding in parts of a sunken half of a barge or boat of some sort. We brought our own snorkeling gear to the island. We will not forget this trip and wish The Heritage Inn all the best in the future!

After 10 days of skippering a catamaran, we needed rest and I'm so thankful we booked The Heritage Inn ahead of our trip for 2 nights before heading home. Don't expect luxury - the ac is only in the bedroom and they are trying to conserve water. The ac worked well, however, the bathroom was very updated, there was a full kitchen and the view was spectacular! We ate at the restaurant - Bananakeet - and had a truly delicious ribeye. "Spice," the chef who lives o the property also provided us with a delicious omelet breakfast that he delivered to our room. It's very quiet - in fact, if you're not there to rest, read and recharge you might be a little restless. A very unique little bar called Stout's Lookout Bar was a short walk up a steep read incline. A 5 minute cab ride took us to Cane Garden Bay for a wonderful day of beach and meeting new folks, plus good food. Highly recommend The Heritage Inn!

Windy Hill should be renamed Pleasant Breezy Hill. This beautiful, sunny place is quite high on the hill, but it stays cool. And the pool is a good enough size, properly maintained, and always there if you're feeling the heat. You look down on the quaint village in Carrot Bay and then out into the sea, dappled with little islands, changing their contours throughout the day as the light changes. If you think it's all a matter of Location Location Location, Heritage Inn has got that right. If you're looking for great food, professional and friendly staff, comfortable apartments and total relaxation, Heritage Inn has got that in abundance. Other reviews say you have to have a car. They have a point: the hills are steep and if you want to make your meals you have to get to the shops. The closest supermarket is in Cane Garden Bay and that's a 20 minute walk. Easy downhill; pretty steep coming home. But we did it and we're pretty old. If you want to explore the island, invest in a car (taxis aren't cheap). If you like walking, Carrot Bay is unspoilt and bursting with character. We've never met anyone like Shell Man before. An absolutely wonderful week with Tia, Ninja, Spice Man, Shaniq and Selena making us laugh, informing us about the Caribbean and, above all, providing the best in hospitality.

We only stayed here one night and we were pleasantly surprised. We were sailing for a week, and needed a night before chartering our sailboat. This is a cute boutique-like hotel in Tortola. Our connecting flight into STT was delayed so we were not able to arrive to Tortola as early as we wanted to. I was really looking forward to the sunset views at Heritage, as I heard they are amazing. We arrived around 8:30pm, shown to our room immediately. This is like a tiny 1 bedroom apt. There was a door to the bedroom (only space that had A/C), a bathroom, small efficiency kitchen and sitting area. It was perfect for us! We went to the restaurant on site and the food, the atmosphere was amazing! Wait staff was attentive and the food did not disappoint! I have a dairy allergy and they were more than accommodating. There was a curry dish I wanted, but they put cream in their curry. Instead, the chef came up with a mango salsa to put on the fish in place of the curry! It was delicious! The view is perfect and I would stay here again!

I spent some lovely days at this hotel. The views were amazing overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Beautiful rooms with AC, WiFi, TV. Restaurant, swimming pool and bar were also superb with panoramic views of the ocean. 5 minute drive from cane garden bay, the prettiest beach on the island!

We have stayed in the Heritage Villas many times in the past 10 years. Staff is very helpful and the Banankeet restaurant is one of our favorites on the island. Spectacular sunsets every night! Not 5star but a full kitchen in each unit and a great balcony.beds are very comfortable as well! Not on a beach but we like to drive to different beaches each day so that works for us. Price is very good compared to other options on the island and all hurricane damage is resolved. Will definitely be back!

I recently visited BVI and unfortunately my plans didnt go according to plan and I found myself stranded! I booked into The Heritage Inn very last minute and arrived an hour later. Booking in is 3.00 but I arrived at 11.30 expecting to sit around waiting to book in, how wrong was I! My room was made ready immediately and I had a chat with the wonderful lady who was rushing around to get it ready so I could relax after my plans had gone wrong. Spice the chef brought me a cold bottle of water and all my woes started to slowly vanish. The hotel is stunning and the views are breath taking but its the staff that make this place amazing. I'd never been that far away from home as a single traveller but I was made to feel at ease and didnt feel out of place sitting in the bar in the evening having a run and watching the sun go down. My apartment was spotless and very homely which I loved and my balcony looked out over the ocean and the pool and restaurant and I was more than happy to sit there during the day watching the world go by. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful and as someone who finds it hard to chill out I found myself totally relaxed and happy. I ordered breakfast and dinner there and it was spot on! The western omelette is the best omelette I've ever tasted and delivered to my room and the chicken caesar salad was spot on! The day I checked out I asked for a late check out due to flight times...my room had already been booked but I was taken to another suite and settled in till I had to leave and for that I was very grateful! If you're in 2 minds of booking this hotel don't be! Book it!! Its location is incredible and the staff even more so! Thank you guys! You were amazing

Stayed for a birthday celebration at The Heritage, it was a great stay mainly because chef Spice gave us the great welcome we needed and helped us figure out our way around. A place where you go to rest and enjoy the beautiful view. Our room was very comfortable and we had a peaceful stay even though a storm came through, thankfully it wasn’t as strong and always had electricity, they have stored water since it must be driven up the mountain to their place. Sadly we did not get to taste the food since our trip was off-season. Looking forward to return. A place run by a great property manager.

Stop what you’re doing, do yourself a favor and book a trip to Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Stay at the beautiful Heritage Inn, a locally owned hidden gem. The rooms are beautiful, the staff are all friendly & the view is priceless! Chef Spice turns out 5 star meals that are as beautiful as they are delicious at the Banakeet Restaurant - amazing!
