This is a small ( maybe 8 rooms ) hotel run by Mike and Fawnette . They are very helpful from reservations to departure . Even have their trusted taxi driver for trips to the airport , a guided tour around the island . Only two room have ocean view but the other rooms and clean and spacious . When we needed a COVID test they had someone come to the hotel for us . When we did not fill out the proper paperwork to get to Saba they were able to put us in a room at the last minute . Hotel even has a friendly cat that will hang out in your room if you like . Close to airport and walking distance to dozens of restaurants.
Our room was just steps from a beautiful beach. The small hotel is overseen by "Mike" and his wife who cannot have been more helpful is such things as recommending restaurants, dive shops and a nurse who came to our room to administer a Covid-19 test which was necessary for our return to the United States. If you are looking for a high-rise hotel with all amenities, this is not the place for you. But, if you need a clean boutique establishment at a more than reasonable price, you should explore the Azure Hotel and art studio.
this was my 1st time on St. Maarten and I can only say it is a very beautiful island! the owners of Azure are great ! Mike really takes care of his guests and tries to make everything to your liking and tries to solve as many things as possible, super nice/romantic location next to the beach nice view from our studio apartment! , good service ! would recommend to anyone! who knows until next time Mike! Sincerely, Ryanne & Maarten
This was our second in-transit stay at Azure, and just as good as the first one! This small hotel is right on the beach, near the airport, so convenient if you have to overnight in Sint Maarten. Mike, the host and owner, is super nice - nothing is too much trouble. Lovely clean cotton bedding and good A/C and WIFI at a reasonable price. We will be coming back
This is my third trip to The Azure this year. To say I love it is an understatment. I will do a "how do I love thee Azure, let me count the ways" list: 1. The people. Michael, Fawnette, and Sky run the hotel and live there. They are kind, welcoming, and make you feel like family immediately. The other people who stay at the hotel are special too. I always meet unique people, and you end up feeling like a little beach family by the end of your stay. The staff is friendly as well--special people! 2. The beach. You are right on the beach. RIGHT ON THE BEACH! I go to different beaches while on island. St. Maarten has some great ones, but when I get back to the Azure, I always feel I am in the most beautiful area of the whole island. There are no rocks, the sand is soft, and it is rarely too wavy to float/swim. This trip, Michael showed us a wonderful snorkel spot to the right of the hotel. It was the best snorkeling of our trip. You are within walking distance to Mary's Boon and Karakter if you want some breakfast or lunch on the beach. 3. Location. The Azure is close to the airport. It is close to restaurants/bars/shops in Simpson Bay. I love the proximity to the bridge. Many mornings, I walk over the bridge and up through the trails. I always rent a car, so I can venture out , but everything you need is right there. There is a little market right on the corner, and I found out this trip they have fresh baguettes every day. Yum. 4. The beds. I have neck and back issues. I just spent three weeks at the hotel. No back and neck pain at all. The beds are comfortable, the pillows are comfortable, the bedding is wonderful. The air conditioner is wonderful!! :) I could go on, but most of you stopped reading long ago. Here's the bottom line. The Azure is a special place. I cannot recommend it more highly.…
