The staff at the hotel was very helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The architecture is stunning, and the amenities are quite nice. We enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend to others.

Do not go to this hotel. We received a 500 dollar parking ticket while trying to do our check in and the staff promised that they will help us gather some documentation to show proof that we were checking in and that the hotel had permission to allow their guest to park there. I have emailed 3 times, called staff, managers, no response. Seems like they don't really care about their guest or bother to follow up with their promises. I will not be going back to Puerto Rico. Extremely over-rated, rules are absolutely ridiculous (where in the world do you get a 500 dollar parking ticket). They are an extremely poor territory of the US and could care less about their travelers.

We arrived in San Juan to celebrate my husbands birthday with a date night. I’d carefully been planning this surprise for some time as he has always wanted to return to OSJ since we went there on a cruise. My husband is a very trendy guy so I was very intentional in the planning of where we would stay. I called to let them know that we would be arriving slightly early and they didn’t have my information. I thought there was a language barrier over the phone so we went ahead to the property. After over an hour of trying to find parking I hopped out and went to check in. I was told that their system was down and they didn’t have my room that I PREPAID for two months before. They asked me to relocate to their sister property (Hotel El Convento) which was nearby. We really had no choice as we were in the city with nowhere else to stay at this point.I then watched multiple people (not of African American decent) walk up and check in after I was turned away with confirmation in hand. We arrived at the sister hotel and we were treated kindly, waited a couple more hours to be placed in a room. The hotel was not new, modern or trendy but had its own old Spanish style. We had an okay stay but it was not our preference nor was it what we paid for. Hotels.com was horribly unhelpful in us trying to resolve the situation. We called repeatedly without ever reaching a live person and never got a response. There are plenty of nice, trendy hotels in old San Juan who treat everyone like they matter...choose one of them!

Stayed for 2 nights at this property and loved it. The rooms are nice, internet is reliable throughout, and there is lots of outdoor space (patio, restaurant, rooftop pool.). The service was very good as well. We didn't try the restaurant until our last day, but really enjoyed it as well (had a pizza and the house salad, with drinks). Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and in fact may return to San Juan just to do so.

Palacio Provincial hotel is Fantastic! It's located in a wonderful area of Old San Juan, P.R. You're right in the middle of everything! Very convenient! The hotel is Beautiful! Very classy & upscale yet has retained it's historical area feel. Service is outstanding! Front desk, restaurant / bar and housekeeping were all on point! Sara, Claudia & the 2 gentlemen at the front desk went above & beyond! And Dory, Jessica & Rebecca took such good care of us at the restaurant & bar! Our friends staying elsewhere always wanted to end the night at the Palacio for a night cap. We enjoyed the rooftop pool area w/ terrific water views too! The room was very comfortable & nicely appointed. Internet was reliable for my work purposes. We completely enjoyed our stay at the Palacio Provincial and hope to return in the future! Gracias!
