I stayed at the sandals Ochi resort in Ocho,Rios Jamaica for my wedding and I’m extremely disappointed in my stay . We paid a lot of money to stay in the butler suites and the rooms are old , the TVs have unstable channels, our room phone kept going in and out and didn’t work when we tried to order room service the first night. The toilet was having a issue flushing . During my welcome dinner I was embarrassed because the food was served cold when and no one wanted to eat it . On wedding day , when I sent my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses to be dry cleaned . They came back extremely late causing me to panic and I never received my garment bag back that I sent it in . My groom sent his clothes to be dry cleaned as well . His bow tie was lost and his shirt that he is being charged for was balled up in a bag and he had to iron it himself . As you can imagine this is a lot to deal with minutes before your wedding . We did not receive our turn down honeymoon session after the wedding nor get the option to schedule our honeymoon dinner .  Almost every one of my guest had issues with their room from the shower not working to huge roaches in their couches . The hygiene is another huge concern for me . I’ve witness the staff using their bare hands to put ice in cups , and handling food . I asked how often they are tested for Covid and a staff member told me every 3 months which is unacceptable and to top it off just when I thought this bad dream was over and we could return home my husband somehow contracted Covid at the resort and now he is expected to pay for his stay up front for insurance to reimburse later. This is below the standards I had for sandals and I hope that my group and I can be accommodated for this horrific experience.  In addition , we are told to stay in our rooms but it’s taking 2hrs plus to get food. When the food comes there is no utensils to eat it with or condiments. I asked for ketchup it never came. I asked for a specific food item yesterday and I never received it. I waited to order it again tonight and still never received it. I call about the item and they tell me “ okay they will put it in “. 2hrs later I follow up with room service, there is no answer. I called the front desk they say the restaurant is closed and they forgot to put the item in. I do not like how we are being treated like caged animals. I'm very upset and can't believe this! My husband and I visited this Sandals resort for the first time in April 2018, after having vacationed at the Royal Bahamian in Nassau, Bahamas twice, and falling in love with Sandals. We had an absolute blast at Sandals Ochi, and the resort grounds were beautiful and the staff were superb. We stayed on the Riviera, or Beachside, with a stunning view of the beautiful Caribbean waters and mesmerizing sunsets, in a Butler suite for 4 days, and then on the Hillside in a Butler suite for the remaining 3 days of our trip. This resort was perfect for us, as we love being active and social. There is always something going on, with so much entertainment, even poolside. One of our favorite nights is Beach Carnival night. The restaurants and food on the resort are exquitisit, as is our experience thus far at all Sandals Resorts that we have visited. In our opinion, you can't really go wrong with Sandals! We met so very many wonderful people from everywhere, including the awesome resort staff. The very next April (2019) we made a return visit to Ochi to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We again, LOVED EVERY MINUTE of our 7 days there, and we have another trip booked. If you are looking for an exciting, fun and entertaining resort, this is the place. While there, a visit to Dunn River Falls is a must. (if you are in good shape and/or not fearful to hike)

I booked a Sandals trip to Ochi Rios Jamaica for my wife and I. It was a complete surprise to her. I am a Marine and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2019 and due to the pandemic did not return home until late 2020, 18 months later. She was forced into being a single mom for 18 months to our 2 children. I wanted to surprise her with a romantic trip to Jamaica because she has always wanted to go there. I booked with Sandals resorts and booked butler elite service, and planned our every detail. I wanted her to truly not have to lift a finger after what she went through. Well we are returning only because we received two credit nights to be used on a future stay. we had a miserable experience. we booked a butler elite suite in ochi Rios, only to get there and they did not have a room ready for us. we waited 3 hours to get a room but we're never told we didn't have a room, only that your butler has been notified your here and should be about 10 minutes. Finally the assistant manager explained that an air conditioning unit broke, a room had to be cleaned, etc... He said he would come speak to us about the issue once we got settled. I asked him, should we come back to the concierge lounge when we are settled and he replied no I will find you through your butler, just go relax. We basically spent our first day sitting in the concierge lounge. 4 days later we had to go find him because he never came and spoke to us. He said he was waiting to talk to the general manager who had not been on site ( I find that hard to believe but who knows) and that he'd talk to us the next day. Again we had to go find him because he never contacted us the next day. Then 2 days before we were leaving the ceiling began leaking and flooded the entire master bed room during a rain shower. We called our butler who called maintenance and house keeping. House keeping came and said oh my I am so sorry, I will call your butler and then left. No one ever came back, we weren't moved, nothing. We spent our last 2 days with soaked throw rugs in the master bedroom. By the next day it smelled like stagnant water. On our final night, my wife ordered room service, being that we were in a butler suite we got 24 hour room service and a menu specifying food that could be ordered depending on what time of day it was, it never arrived. So finally 30 minutes before our shuttle to the airport was scheduled to leave the resort, the assistant manager we had been speaking to showed back up offering 2 credit nights for a future stay pending availability that was equal to or lesser in price as the current stay as reparations for our troubles. Nothing more, no money back for the 2 days we feel we lost due to the room delay and the flood in the bedroom. We basically were forced to accept that or get nothing. I will say, my wife and I did enjoy our time in Jamaica and were able to reconnect and have a very romantic time. Very disappointed in Sanadals, supposed to be 5 star resort and have a great reputation, maybe we just were a rare out of the norm but I don't feel like I got what was promised, especially when I booked their highest level of service. Booked for Sandals Barbados in June of 2022 in order to use our credit nights. Hopefully it will be a better experience. Will give an updated review after that trip. Added photos of the flooding but Trip advisor is saying they exceed the allowed photo size.

After a delayed flight to MBJ, the airport and customs were pretty chaotic. However, once through and at the Sandals office we were moved pretty expeditiously to our transport and we were on our way to the resort. A reminder for those who have not been there, Ocho Rios is a solid one hour and forty five minutes from the airport. Check in at the Butler was painless, and Akeem, one of our butlers, got us into our room smoothly. We had a suite in the butler village section. It consisted of a large bedroom with en suite and a good sized living room that had a separate kitchenette with fridge and bar sink. There was a spacious veranda overlooking a semi private pool that served the four suites in our building. Because of the length of the trip we went tight to dinner at the Southern Table, which did not require a reservation. Most restaurants require reservations. Dinner was fine, but we were so hungry at that point, we would have eaten the table. Southern Table is in the Manor House where we checked in. After dinner

My husband and I had an amazing trip to Ochi Rio Sandals. In particular, Sandra, was amazing and polite. Daily she asked us how we were, where we were going, helped us get what we needed and was that friendly face we saw every day! She went over and beyond to ensure our stay was amazing! While we met several helpful employees, Sandra was at the top! Don't forget to book a massage with Shoshauna! I had 2 and she made sure I was relaxed before coming back home!
