Where do I begin? Well, I will first say the staff is very friendly but that’s where the good part ends. I was excited from all the positive reviews from this place. Don’t fall into the same trap that I did. 1. The advertised restaurants were not open during our stay. Gaucho never opened and Izakaya was open one night. Everything closes around 10pm. Breakfast still wasn’t ready at 7:50 in the morning and there is only one place open. The sports bar is not open 24hr as they are ONLY open on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. The food was the worst I’ve ever had while dining out. 2. The pool bar doesn’t open until after 11am and closes earlier than the 7pm that is posted. 3. The pool also closes at 7pm 4. The beach is not even really a beach. That’s why you won’t see any full pics of it on any of their advertisements. When they offer you a shuttle to another beach on check in that should speak for itself. There is a constant stench around the resort I assume from the beach due to the still water of the man made beach area. The other beach, Juanillo Beach was full of seaweed and could not even swim there. 5. They tell you to use the app to check where breakfast, lunch and dinner will be but then when you go arrive they tell you to go to another place because the app is not correct. They will open the same restaurant at different locations with the same name and same menu. 6. I feel as if they are using the COVID slow down as an excuse to cut back on service and be cheap, even though you still will pay full price. 7. Oh and as I’m writing the review they have just informed me they are out of the items we ordered for breakfast. Plantains, rice & yucca. Out of plantains in the Caribbean? 8. I am not one that has to have a room that is very cold but the air conditioner was not efficient at all and the room stayed warm the entire time. 9. On the last full day while relaxing at the pool one of the staff members apologized for the beach and lack of facilities. He informed us we could go to one of the sister Palladium resorts and enjoy the day. He said they should have informed us of that on check in. It was already too late though. As we were checking out we asked why were we not informed about this and we were then told they don’t offer that. 🤪 Anyway, my advice is go somewhere else. I’ve been to cheaper resorts that offer way better service.

This is a beautiful property inside and out with the nicest people you will ever meet. The staff made it experience truly exceptional. Manuel went above and beyond to bring me Spicy Bacon Bloody Mary’s every morning, introduced my boyfriend and I to the wonderful flavors of Dominican food for lunch, and greeted us with a big smile during dinner service. (The Dominican food is by far the best tasting on the menu. COVID limitations and all, they knocked it out of the park when they stuck close to home.) Sabrina was the hostess for 3 meals a day, remembered my name after the first day, and always had the most bubbly personality. This resort’s mantra is very much, “Relax! You’re on vacation!” Jocelyn had wonderful energy serving drinks at the pool bar. If the cocktail cart comes around, make sure Henry makes you one of his smoke-infused special cocktails! Top shelf liquor and Presidente/Light is a great day time beer. The neighborhood is great to walk around, day or night. A lovely newly developed marina community!The bar is open til 1 am regardless if your the only one who walks in for a nightcap at 12:45 am. It was not crowded during the week, but Charly the entertainment manager really knows how to liven people up. He encouraged my boyfriend and I to sing a duet for the first time at karaoke night, and we had a blast! The views from our jacuzzi suite were gorgeous. Ocean waves, boats coming in and out of the marina, even saw the Milky Way in the middle of the night. Nothing better than ordering a BLT in the middle of the night to eat in your outdoor jacuzzi with views of the stars. Javier was an excellent butler. Quick responses to questions, gave us a brief tour of the property when we first arrived, made nightly dinner reservations and was sure all our stuff was loaded in our return airport shuttle. He is also an amazing decorator if you choose to have your room spruced up for a special occasion. The hotel will make arrangements for you to access a wide expansive beach club about 10 min away. This is highly recommended. Bring cash for drinks or buy the food voucher that includes beer. Overall, I would recommend this place for those seeking peace and tranquillity. Once you step foot in the country to the time you leave, you will be overwhelmed by the niceness and sincerity of the locals.

Oh boy...where to start. How about the positives. Check in is easy. Room is nice and large, and most importantly, clean. The staff is nice all around. The AC works. The negatives: The beach is, well...not really a beach. It’s about 100 feet across at most. The pool doesn’t have any easy access to towels. The staff have to go looking to find them for you. The only pool bar (1 and only) closes at 6pm on a Saturday when the sun goes down around 7:30pm. The pool closes at 7pm when it’s still daytime. No answer for why, just “get out because it’s closed.” The food is so-so, and that’s probably giving it too much credit. The bed is hard. The pillows are harder. It’s “all inclusive” except...room service. You’ll have to pay for that. This place feels like it could be more, but the vibe is kind of like they don’t really care because they’re using the Cap Cana name to get business. Go elsewhere where there is a real beach and the bars and pools stay open until at least dark. Go where the rooms are comfy and they have towels by the pool. Go where they care a little more for your business.

I have to admit at first I was super skeptical, but it was due to my ignorance. I didn’t realize their seaweed ecosystem caused an odor. Once I realized what it was and got over that, I had the absolute best vacation experience of my life. From the time Jose greeted us to the time he packed our bags into our shuttle for us to go home, I’ve never felt so appreciated by a hotel staff before. I travel for work so this means a lot. At check in we were presented with our own “butler” Javier. He was available anytime my wife and I needed him. After 6 days, we can honestly say the kindness and passion Javier showed has made him one of our closest friends whom I will continue to keep in touch with. Even though Luis Daniel wasn’t our butler, there were times Javier had some time off and even Luis went above and beyond what was expected. The bartenders Christopher (Wa Wa Wa!) and Alexander made sure to always have a drink in our hands! The hotel had events planned each day and John held Spanish lessons, taught us how to salsa, and beat my wife in table tennis while I destroyed Javier and Luis (hahah). The hotel had many excursion options that I’ll never forget, but the relationships we made this vacation were even more unforgettable! Until next time, mis amigos!

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt the genuine love and hospitality from the staff. Joel greeted us with a big smile, and made the check in process so easy. Javier was there to help us with anything and everything we needed, he made us feel comfortable and we quickly became friends. Ramon was amazing and helpful and made us feel so special. Luis always helpful with luggage and anything we needed. Clean pools/ beautiful rooms/delicious food/ and staff that becomes family!! Thankyou!!
