Poor services , customers have to wait a lot in order to get resort services (drink, restaurant booking, information) Attraction are poor, only one bow for 15 people ! Room are really noisy, specially cooling system. Beach is not clean, some resort clean beach from sargasse but not Catalonia ( bad smell) Note is over rated, much better resort for same price, I will not back again
From when we first arrived at Royal Bavaro to check-out time, we have dealt with so much impatience for not speaking the language and numerous eye rolls during our interactions with the staff. We came here to relax and although we tried our best to communicate clearly and overlook the lack of hospitality from numerous workers throughout the resort, we left quite unhappy. It took over 45 minutes to check-in, not waiting to speak to someone to check-in but with someone in the process of doing so. She would step away and help other guests while asking us to wait and did not explain what the wait was due to. Several times she’d disappear without explaining why. By the time we were finished, we were left to fend for ourselves. Perhaps we should’ve done a deeper research about the ins and outs of the resort prior to our arrival (that dinner reservations were required, where the restaurants were located, where to find beach towels/other amenities, having access to the restaurants at the family resort, etc) but we would have thought some of this information would be provided to us in the lobby/at check-in. We also didn’t think the language barrier would be such an issue seeing as how we understand key Spanish terms to get by but it was the attitude we received along with it. Several times it looked like it was a nuisance to the staff that we did not understand what they were saying and pained them to speak in English. It’s most likely their second or third language but if you are working in hospitality, understand that it’s a given that tourists may not speak/understand the native language. At least attempt to be nice about meeting somewhere in the middle. If it wasn’t the language barrier, then they just didn’t care to be polite. (The hostess just stared at me when I approached for our reservation and said nothing. After assuming he needed our room number, he still said nothing while he seated us with no menus. Guest services rep was calling to confirm my taxi and left me waiting for 20 minutes until his colleague went to retrieve him to let him know I was still waiting.) I’d also note that there were a handful of staff who did make the effort and had no issue working with my limited Spanish terms to figure out what we were asking. They were genuinely nice and we appreciate that. Also, the upselling of timeshares and external activities made it difficult to differentiate who was actually from the hotel trying to help us or trying sell us something. This made us very hesitant to talk to anyone we didn’t recognize after dealing with the “concierge”. He approached us and seemed very invested that we’d have the right information to experience everything the resort offers but would leave out that a lunch at their new club was a sales presentation until we arrived at the location. Not how we wanted to spend our afternoon, do better. Overall, the resort was what we expected from an all-inclusive in terms of amenities. Food was average, something you’d expect from a college cafeteria (Royal side only). Bars were plenty throughout the resort. But if you’re here to relax and don’t speak any Spanish, I would not recommend staying here.…
Excelent trip for relax and enjoy with your partner. The structure of the resort is the best, with options of good food. Unfortunately some restaurants are available just for privileged people that pay more for the reservation
Excellent as always the staff was wonderful from beginning to end we certainly look forward to our next trip with great anticipation . Would especially recommend the competency and efficiency of the door staff, the friendliness of the security man Alfredo at the front doors, the ETC Concierge Ramon who resolved our minor problem immediately and the efficiency and friendliness of all the Butlers Erik, Jorge, Noel and Jesusri
Beautiful scenery around the hotel, good quality service with COVID 19 safety measures! Delicious food in restaurants, variety of healthy dishes! Friendly stuff ready to help. Wi-fi available even on the beach near the ocean, stunning beach with coral reef! It was Lovely vacation in the hotel without kids! Punta Cana is one of the most beautiful places to visit! It was our second time in Dominican Republic, can’t wait to visit this hotel again!
