Just got back from this resort. Overall we had a nice time. The service was great at the restaurants and at the pool too. We always had help from the reception workers every time we needed something. The beach was not clean due to the seaweed, that has nothing do with the hotel since this is mother nature. We were really happy with the service received at the buffet. Kudos to Eddy and another waitress (can't recall her name). Now, the cons: the hotel needs big maintenance. The buildings and the rooms look really old. The minute you step in the elevators you are hit with terrible sewage smell. The same happens when you get into you rooms. The bathroom sinks were clogged, we had to remove the drain stopper so the water would go down. Housekeeping, I cannot say it was good, I always left tips, every single day. The days I tipped 3 to 5 dollars the service was great, less than 3, service was mediocre. I would still recommend the hotel but I don't think I'll ever go back.

This was my first all-inclusive experience so I was very green. But here's what I learned: The good: * The cleaning ladies are lovely so hopefully we all tip them extra. * Sheets/towels - good (bring your own toiletries though). * Ramon, at the front desk, is so kind and lovely (he should be promoted). * The VIP upgrade includes 3 pools reserved only for VIP and I would suggest you splurge on that as they have covered beds and are quiet and delightful (general includes only 1 pool for everyone/screaming children/very packed....etc ) *The beach area had lots of seating and was well maintained/clean. They can't really help the huge seaweed situation so keep that in mind with all the rainstorms. Not the end of the world though as you still have the pool. *Breakfast juices and overall vibe of the restaurant in the mornings - I miss that! The not so great: - I kept checking what was inside my pillows because it felt like bricks. If you like hard beds, this will be great for you. Me, not so much, lol - They did NOT check my covid results when I checked in to the hotel and all the people I spoke to during my stay also mentioned they hadn't been asked for proof. So... keep that in mind if you are worried about catching the 'rona. Wish I'd known before! Esp as I spent $350 in New York getting rapid pcr test, another LOL. - The covid test 3 days before you travel back to the US is a HUGE DISASTER and wasted 4 hours of my time and way more hours of other peoples vacation time. They essentially told 100+ people to all come to the cafe at the exact same time. Please make that make sense. People packed in together most without a mask??? They were so disorganized that when I finally got to the testing room (after dealing with such nastiness from the silly maskless employee managing it), there were 4 bored nurses in an empty room...bored. Can you imagine? Definitely lower your standards when it comes to expecting efficiency at this establishment. - Bless them but the gym is a joke. - The key card system is annoying AF. I tried very hard to not have it anywhere near my phone as that deactivates it but - it still kept happening if I accidentally forgot and put my phone in my purse (despite putting the card in an envelope). THE SCARY WORRISOME part though is that every time I would go to the front desk to get it fixed, they would replace my card without verifying my identity. And when I would remind them (I promise I was nice about it) to please double-check peoples names before they give them a card as this is a HUGE SAFETY RISK, they would pretty much roll their eyes at me.. and then do it again the very next day. Like, dude, I'm trying to help you do your job (and stay alive) and not compromise people's safety? - The rooms are super clean but... definitely due for an upgrade/smelled musty and were weathered. Mold on my bathroom ceiling? - And I hate to say it but the 3 or so 'fancy' restaurant options repeatedly served the worst food I've ever tasted in my life (I was there 10 days). I kept taking an extra bite or two just to double check that my tastebuds were not pranking me. The steakhouse was the better one out of all of them. But, I kept being SHOCKED at how awful the food was. This was the first vacation where I actually LOST WEIGHT so ... I'm weirdly grateful for that, LOL. I ended up just going to the buffet most nights because the food there was SO MUCH BETTER that I was confused about what planet the other chefs were on at the other restaurants. The down side of the buffet is that everyone is touching the serving handles and ... I saw some kids who were serving themselves and would lick their hand and then touch the handle again which scarred me. Not the hotels fault but I def saw some reckless guests. I'm truly surprised I didn't catch the plague from that buffet experience but I had no choice as I was hungry and just told Jesus " take the wheel' - Last but not least, SCREW BLUE TRAVELER shuttle bus. I booked the shuttle to and from the hotel when I purchased my hotel tix so they had my flight time/details. Here's the scam: they call your hotel room at 8am the FIRST DAY OF YOUR VACATION to tell you "you must report to the hotel lobby at 10am to confirm your trip'. OK... but it's like 9 days away, anyway - I thought it was a coincidence that they called/woke me up and scarred me. Then I found out from other guests that they were doing it to everyone. AND WHY? Well because when you run down to the lobby like some idiot, they try to get you to book excursions, lol. However, my real beef with them is that I confirmed my return trip 4 times. I went to the lobby the day before my return trip and they said 'great, see you at 12pm tomorrow" ... so lo and behold, you can imagine my surprise when they were 1 HOUR LATE picking me up from the hotel. And the only reason they ever bothered to show up was because I made a stink with the front desk as I had no idea what to do. I almost missed my flight back to NY as the airport was packed but fortunately, some jetblue employee who seemed very used to having to do this, went to the middle of the massive line to pull me out LITERALLY 20 mins before my flight and somehow helped me catch my flight. But... I really didn't need this drama. This was not the vibe I was going for, lol. Anyway - this place works if you are on a budget/with kids especially and know what you are getting yourself into. At the very least, most of the employees are really kind and warm so you can expect that.

My two daughters and I recently stayed here for 4 nights. I would have given a great review however due to the laboratory they use for COVID testing I highly recommend not staying here. Let me start by saying testing is done out of a joint room. There's 1 woman doing the collection and all the patients' tests after collection are placed on a table TOGETHER! They are not placed in a bag with identification. They are just sitting on the table. Perfect scenario for a mishap. My daughter's test came back "positive" and the lab never notified me. I had to go to the front desk and question the missing results. My test and my other daughter's test came back negative. We had all just tested 2 days prior to arriving as I wanted to be responsible and confirm we did not have COVID. All test prior were negative as well. I refused to believe she was positive. I asked if she could be retested immediately (at that moment) and was told lab staff was gone for the day. They proceeded to tell me we had to move rooms and wait until the morning so she can be retested. In the interim we were to stay in our room to quarantine and the food or anything we need will be brought to us. My next question was how quickly will we get the results as we only have a day left to enjoy the resort, answer, 36 to 48 hrs! Completely unacceptable! I insisted on going to a private doctor or medical office in the area. Luckily for us the gentleman at the front was able to find a 24 hr lab 15 mins away. Centro Medico IMG. The next issue was that no taxi driver on the resort wanted to take us. After waiting almost an hour someone finally was willing to take us. During this whole time my poor child is sitting outside the hotel as she was not allowed to wait in the lobby. This process cost me over $250 between paying for both a rapid and PCR test as well as my taxi transportation round trip twice to the facility. Both results as I expected were negative! The rapid was produced to them the moment we returned. We did not receive an apology from management nor any compensation for this whole ordeal. My kids and I are completely traumatized as this ruined our vacation. Unless you outsource for testing I do not recommend staying here.
