Wow!!!! Where do I start... My stay was from 6/16 to 6/21... First and foremost there is ONE PERSON who was the best my whole entire stay was a gentleman name “Watson” I highly recommend if you staying at this resort pleaseeee ask for him because he make sure whatever you need or whatever information you need he either knows it already or he will go get the information for you so please recommend “Watson”... Ok here we go... Let’s start with the restaurants me and my girlfriend reserved which were (5) restaurants they were 1. M.E.A.T 2. Dominican Restaurant at Bahia 3. Tequila 4. Portofino 5. Esmerelda The food at these restaurants were horrible EXCEPT for ONE and that was Portofino the food was awesome and the dessert was impeccable and they totally took there time preparing the food and they didn’t rush us out like the other four restaurants it was like they just brought every dish out really fast to get you out the restaurant really quick and it was just sooo horrible I’ve never been to any resort restaurant where they bring your dish out not hot and taste horrible especially Dominican Restaurant at Bahia you would think coming to this country they would represent the most but they failed... BTW do not order the steak from M.E.A.T totally horrible... Now let’s discuss our stay at the resort... First and foremost I highly recommend the swim out room where you can have the luxury of being in your own section secluded private pool with it was very nice but of course there were some issues where the pool was dirty and I called three times to have someone clean the pool unfortunately no one came until the day we were checking out along with that you could only use the pool till about 8pm or 9pm because it gets really dark but for some strange reasons there people swimming after hours (who also had swim out rooms) but were so loud and disrespectful but I kept my cool because me and my lady were on vacation but the resort did nothing to solve the issue... one thing I did like about the room was the different smells you could request everyday from a sleeping oil, to a calm oil, or even a regular nice smell to the room... The frigerator inside the room was not cold so the fully stocked beers, soda, and water was not cold at all... The room service didn’t have a lot to choose from but the two dishes that had us asking for more was the cheeseburger or the Cesar salad... The bed itself wasn’t the best and the pillows were horrible but we made it enjoying the best way we could... The tv stations were 90 percent Spanish (and we don’t know Spanish) so that was another downfall to the room... My girlfriend requested the room to be decorated and I will admit the design in the bed was very nice and they used real flowers but the only downfall to that was the flowers attracted little bugs and afterwards we got bitten a few times because the flowers left a scent that must of attracted the tiny bugs to stay around the bed... So overall on the scale of 1-10 I give the room a 4... The morning buffet was cool it was the same food everyday which wasn’t the best but again we made the best of it... The actual pool area was nice but very crowed but we was not going into that pool with all them people it was just to crowded so we actually stayed on the beach area which was awesome... Another downfall was the pineapple drinks that was good but they lied on the price but telling us it was only $5 dollars but come to find out it was actually $9 (and we didn’t find that out till checkout time) so please be careful when ordering the pineapple drinks cause you have to pay for those drinks but every other drink is completely free (BE VERY CAREFUL BECAUSE YOU CANNOT PAY FOR THE PINEAPPLE DRINKS BECAUSE THEY CHARGE IT TO YOUR ROOM AND ANYONE CAN ORDER DRINKS AND JUST USE YOUR ROOM NUMBER SO BE VERY CAREFUL TO CHECK YOUR ROOM ORDER PURCHASES DAILY)... The regular unlimited drinks were ok but after you drink the little verity shelf liquors they have it gets boring after while... Last but not least let’s talk about the EXCURSIONS!!!!!!! Please whatever you do, DO NOT!!!!! purchase any excursions from the company called “Coming2” or the other company on the actual beach (I forgot there name but they wear grey polo shirts) PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE FOR THEM and here is why... So I purchased an excursion from Coming2 (which is in the resort) to do buggies, see a water cave, try different coffees, and go to some beach/island it was for $117 for two people and must say the beach/island, the cave, and coffee tasting was very beautiful but the buggies PLEASE do not do because they break down and you will find yourself stranded in the middle of nowhere by yourself like I experienced I was left in a field by myself one for 15 minutes then when they finally noticed someone was missing from the group they came back for me and gave me another biggie where that one broke down 20 minutes later and I found myself stuck in the field for 13 minutes (some really scary stuff) but after the excursion was over everyone had to wash off the mudd from there clothing before boarding the “Coming2” bus and that’s when the driver left me at the ranch so now I’m stranded everyone speaks Spanish so now I’m even more pissed off then to top it off I’m by myself (my lady wasn’t feeling to well to go so I still went) don’t know where to go don’t have “Coming2” telephone number because there isn’t one so finally after a hour and thirty five minutes I make it back to the resort (if you want to know how I did just email me at jayrp20@gmail.com) because it’s just to much even talk about... I finally get back to the resort and the assistant manager is know help at all just didn’t care at all but at the end the “coming2” company gave a total lie just to cover themselves... The other excursion company on the beach with the grey polo shirts is another horrible company and again if you wish to hear about them please email me at jayrp20@gmail.com Overall would I recommend Bahia luxury Ambar to anyone??? NO!!!!! I rather stay somewhere else... if you have any questions, concerns, etc again please just email me...

While the property itself was beautiful and the entertainment team were marvelous, I spent the majority of my week fighting the employees for equal treatment. I paid nearly double what I had initially paid to book to upgrade to the Ambar; however, the hotel was booked so they offered us to stay at the Fantasia with complete access to the Ambar's facilities due to the unanticipated inconvenience. However, after the transaction I was only given a Fantasia wristband therefore my first night, I spent an hour fighting 4 separate security and management personnel until the issue was "addressed" where their solution was to cut off the Fantasia wristband and give us a grey band (which is not used at the resort) therefore anytime I tried to access the bar, towel stand, or any other amenities I was continuously interrogated by the employees as to why my wristband was different than the others which very negatively impacted my experience. It was even moreso negatively impacted because my partner could not help advocate for us since all employees insisted on having these discussions in Spanish and not in English.

Stayed for 10 days with a group of 17 Overall rating 6/10 We have stayed at numerous all inclusive including another Bahia property in la romana. In comparison this stay was “fine” but we won’t be back with better choices out there for the same cost Check in: we found it be very very clunky. It felt like we were checking into the holiday inn. We arrived at 3pm (check in time) and we had to wait until almost 5pm to get our room. After a long day of travel all we wanted was to clean up and relax. We stayed in building 66 and had a swim up. Absolutely loved our swim up and used it often. Beach: due to seaweed it was a no go… just Mother Nature; not the resorts fault. Pool; we are pool people and our group had a really fun time! The pool wasn’t cleaned as diligently and there was just stuff laying around everywhere. The highlight of our pool stay was Desiree!!!! She was absolutely fanfreakingtastic!!!! Our yeti cups were always full!!! Butler: not all butlers are equal. Ours got us a bottle of champagne, but others got nothing, some got champagne and t shirts … overall Kinda a joke The app really has no functional purpose and didn’t work half the time. Room service: no breakfast!! (Eggs etc)The menu was very limited and sub par The restaurant’s were good, nothing fabulous (except the Indian restaurant) but nothing terrible either. Check out: took forever (again felt not like a luxury resort but a regular hotel)

I give this Hotel a 5 Star rating, not just because of the luxury, facilities and the amenities, but for the staff that gives life to every experience. Staff is very polite and attentive, they make sure you have a wonderful experience and help you out on anything you need. Just a Few names I remember from Staff: Lissy at the restaurants area and Ramon On Entertainment, I give 5 stars to Stephany and Walter. I also remember... Henry Cristino Keidi They all made sure we had a fun and pleasant experience at Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. Nevertheless I must point out all staff where excellent in general, I just couldn't list them all as I don't remember all their names... Food was great on all restaurants and even room service. I am definitely returning in a few months, if not next year. 100% recommended.

We spent 7 days at this resort for our anniversary. I would HIGHLY recommend the swim-up rooms. Semi-private patio with chairs and a pool shared by only the 6-8 ground floor rooms in that villa. It was so relaxing and we loved not having to rush to the pool to try to grab a spot. Food overall was average. We weren’t horribly impressed or displeased with anything—just a little underwhelming for a luxury resort. Limbo was our favorite as the seafood was delicious. Wilson our sever was great! The buffet breakfast was consistently good. Entertainment/activity schedule could definitely be improved upon. I understand the limitations with COVID-19, but several days we went to where an activity was scheduled on the app, and no one was there. No change and hardly any communication. Luckily, we were okay lounging in our room and at the pool most days. Nurys gave a great massage at the spa! And Randy from concierge was very helpful and informative. Big bonus having COVID-19 tests on site, just be prepared for the whole process to take 20-30 minutes. I also recommend using the transportation provided by the resort—it was very affordable and easy to set up online and onsite. Overall, we had a good stay and may consider coming back again.
