Detailed Reviews
I have been a regular guest for the past 3 or so years. I have made great reviews of the hotel, not because it is brand spankin' new or what have you, bit primarily because of the people. The friendliness, the familiarity, the feeling of being always welcome.
But here is the thing. I just hope management does somthing about their brekgast buffet. Yes that 1 up for yhe hotel, but pleeeeeease find a way to keep the food at least warm. It's in a freakin schafing dish. All you have to do is light up the little thingy at the botton. And please review your menu. Every morning yoi cannot help but feel that some dishes are leftover dinner from the previous night or part of a lunch event that day.
It has been getting more difficult to book since I have been seeing more and.more foreigners at the hotel. Yes, I woild still stay here. Just toast some bread and drink coffer I guess.

Indeed, it was the right decision for escaping and having some time for a while away from Manila. I also want to commend the staff in answering our queries and requests. Hotel facilities are well functioning. Highly recommendable!

I stayed in this hotel during weekdays for 4 months (October 2013 to January 2014). The hotel is okay and clean. They have swimming pool and billiard table. The hotel is just across the mall and provides buffet breakfast which is nice. All staffs are very accomodating and courteous. Plus good and fast wifi.

My sister and I stayed for 4 nights in this Hotel in February 2012 and the service was fantastic. We stayed in one of their Executive Suite and it was so roomy and very clean. The cost was $60AUD per night and even discounted on weekdays. The staff provides you everything you require and we loved the room service breakfast with a choice of either American or Filipino breakfast. Although on our first stay here ten years ago the quality of breakfast was much better then. We loved that you can just go across the overhead footbridge to SM Mall and enjoy the luxury of an awesome shopping center. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Lipa City again. Thank you for the hospitality of the Filipino staff.

Located across the Lipa SM Mall, Hotel La Corona de Lipa is a standard local establishment in a standard small Filipino ‘city’ in the Batangas Province (city is an overtly overstated word in the Philippines). The Mall can be accessed via an overhead footbridge that is located right in front of the hotel (not pretty). The employees are friendly, eager and try hard to please but not always easy to communicate with, and the establishment is clean and tidy. However, sitting beside the busy J P Laurel Highway, with no distinguishing character or service, it has little to offer to patrons seeking leisure and pleasure, and probably attracts customers who are in Lipa City on business. The standard rooms are small (others not inspected) and have the tiniest bathroom imaginable. Basically a small cubicle containing a tiny sink, toilet and shower (no curtains/enclosure), with no room to move (the toiletries are placed on top of the toilet cistern)- certainly not one for the claustrophobic, and the architect/designer was obviously not one. One cannot take a shower without giving the whole ‘space’ a good wash and that is not a good feeling- could vie for the tiniest bathroom contest (and probably win) if there were one.

This is my second stay at La Corona, and I would definitely come back again if I need to come to Lipa. After staying at many different budget places in Manila that cost more, I have to say that I really like it here. The free wifi is pretty good, rooms are clean and nice, location very convenient, staff very hospitable and smiley, breakfast is included and they even accommodated my wishes for just fruit since I am a vegan. Rooms have wifi, cable, mini-frig. I like being able to walk across the footbridge to SM Mall, very convenient for shopping and food. It is very easy to get around from here, as there are many buses, jeeps, trykes that pass this area. For being such a busy place, I did not find it noisy. I like the small view of Lipa from my third floor room. The blue sky, mountains, and the spanish roofs of the homes surrounding this quaint and homey bed and breakfast is very lovely.
If you are used to staying in Western hotels, this might not meet your expectations (try The Farm for a more luxurious place). It's more like a B&B with local charm. Since I have lived and traveled in the Philippines for over a year, I have to say it is a good value for the friendly service, clean and nice rooms, and the convenient location.

+1
Seems some pictures got deleted. When I had this hotel booked there was some pictures showing a nice beach, nice swimming pool but when we had arrived none of these was real.
This hotel it's in the middle of the city. You have some mobile done cart outside the gate, a tricycle terminal. There is a swimming pool but extremely small. My own swimming pool at home it's double size them theirs.
When we arrived they had 2 events there, where people screamed and shout until 1am.
Rooms are small, and restrooms super tiny. There was some construction downstairs and workers start to use power drill machines at 7am.
Staff seems to be friendly. We had breakfast included in the price of the room which was a mini buffet, not to fancy. They had scrambled eggs, some dry mini fish, some sausages, cdo cornbeef, coffee and some cereals.
This hotel is not a 3*** hotel as they claim. With the way looks like it's rather a hostel to rent rooms by the hour just for some good moments with another one and leave. The rooms we got because we are 2 couples to go there same time, we're bad smelly, and the aircon was adding more bad outdoor.
You can see more on yourself from pictures.
I don't recommend this hotel even for overnight as we stayed unless you have no other choice.

We already staying for 3 nights in a row already at Business Executive Room and on the Fourth Day in the middle of our pre-nup pictorial staff of Hotel La Corona called us to kick us out at the hotel!!!! and the reason that they give us? Is because the OJT Staff overlooked the booking with other guest and forget to inform us!!!! What hotel does that??? Well its La Corona LIPA.!!! Horrible experience that ruin couple day during pictorial and take note of this, we even complain that there is a cockroach and toilet was flooded whenever we showered. Guess what they just gave us one rug for the floor toilet.

The suite room doesn't have any suite room ammenities at all. Just bigger than their standard room and that's it. Quite sad that this hotel does not seem to want to improve over the years. It has the best location but it all ends there. Wish they don't cover their beds with leather-like materials which make them even more uncomfortable.

To begin this review, I would like to say that I was pleasantly surprised how quick it was to travel from Laguna to Lipa. Having said that, you will not have a hard time to look for the hotel itself because it's literally a stone's throw away from SM. That for me is worth half of the money I paid for the hotel. It's centrally located and easy access to anywhere.
Next off, when I entered the place, the receptionist was easy to talk to and they didn't even ask for a hard copy of my confirmation. All they asked for is my ID and they already escorted me to my room. Talk about easy, breezy check in.
I was assigned a room at the third floor and for some, the stairs may pose as a challenge. It was steep and it was raining at that time so it can be a little slippery so be a little cautious. One step inside my room and I already felt at home. AC was strong and TV was clear. There was a little dining table and a desk where I can put my laptop and work. Only downside is on my first day, wifi connection was intermittent. I called them several times and they said they were having problems with their internet provider.
The next morning, I was informed that they have buffet breakfast. This is worth the other half of the money I paid. Lol. They have a nice selection of viand and bread. They have coffee or juice as drinks and they even served fruit! The only negative I can think of is that the servers seem timid and they can be a little more proactive and helping out.
Over-all, I would come back to this hotel without any doubt. I might even come back and invite my friends for Corona's KTV packages. Here's the rundown of my experience at the hotel.
(+)
Buffet breakfast
Simple yet sophisticated room
(-)
Restaurant servers are passive
Wifi connection was intermittent (not totally their fault)

Yes we are a pet friendly hotel.
They do have in deluxe and executive rooms.
Yes, you can stay there for 6 hours but you will still be required to pay the regular room as per their room rate plus tax. It really doesnt matter if you stay there for an hour or six hours or 12 hours. Room rate will be charged and then abide by the check out time :-)
