Detailed Reviews
Stayed here several years ago and disappointed to see that it’s still not refurbished nor updated in design . The room was relatively clean but extremely strong smell of fabric softener (carcinogen). Very dark and not holiday feel. The location is nice but I guess it’s about time to do something to increase the joy of being in this place, room rate was not value for money.

+1
Located close to the chaotic Lipa City, this place is a real oasis for people seeking some peace and quiet. It's huge, mostly with lawns for golfers, but they also have a swimming pool, a restaurant, a spa, and other amenities. There are also various types of accommodation which are very relaxing and calm. I highly recommend this place. It's perfect for a weekend hide away. :D

We had a family get-together at this hotel a day before New Year’s Day. We, specially the kids, had fun running around, swimming, biking, and fishing.
The hotel rooms were clean and big enough for families with kids. The food at the restaurant were also good and reasonably priced.
Very nice lake and golf course views. The place is family-friendly. It’s already [my] third visit at this hotel and I still liked the overall experience.

We are happy that we found this place and had a great vacation. We booked for Tanguile Suites and they gave us a free room upgrade to Narra Superior. They also give us a voucher for food (in lieu of the free breakfast) which we used for our dinner and merienda. Although the food in the restaurant is a little bit pricey, you also have an option to order from nearby restaurant through food panda. We also tried fishing. The place is really relaxing and the staff are nice. I enjoyed the walk in the morning and there were also lots of birds.

My husband and I visited The Suites at Mt. Malarayat again after many years and this time with our son. As we had not been travelling out-of-town since the pandemic, our son really looked forward to going out. Overall, we had a great family weekend as the place wasn't crowded and there were so much space to walk and run around.
The restaurant food was good and there's al fresco option. The room and facilities were well-maintained. The staff were courteous and helpful.
We particularly enjoyed biking, swimming, and fishing.

My Husband and I stayed here and regarding the glowing reviews from trip advisor and Agoda I booked ! Our stay was between January 16, 2015 - January 18, 2015.. We arrived to this place and first of all it's a Resort / Country Club Living and so signs were very scarce and you couldn't tell where anything was. The guard wasn't very helpful as well. The moment you walked it this place is very quiet I agree and hardly anyone is walking around I had to yell out to the customer service crew of 3 because they were laughing in the backroom. However thats not a big deal. Our room was booked at the Yakal Suites. Very Very dark room and the bathroom had a leak and I immediately notified the housekeeper on site and they assured me the cannot do anything to it because it was coming off the wall. Also the air conditioner had a very loud noise and they had to address that as well. The absolute worst thing was the internet was only allowed in the lobby and could not be used inside the room. How could this be? When they offer internet when you book? This is outrageous I mean out of all things. The TV signal was also just the worst no clear channels and I mean every channel was fuzzy. With the amount of money I paid for this reservation in the Philippines this was very disappointing. Also forget about making a phone call you have to call the front desk give them the number and they will dial out. I mean I felt I was in a hotel in the 90's. For your traveler's like me this is not a place to relax and unwind esp with all the headaches I experienced. If your a golfer like my husband the place is pretty the Golf Club customer service was not the best and I had to complain to the Main customer service about them. Wish I had a better experience because I love doing great reviews and this being my first TripAdvisor review I hate that it's not a good one...

We went to this Golf & Country club because we thought to have nice activities during our stay.
Price for the room was rather cheap thats why I cannot complain about it a lot. The only thing was that air conditioner was too loud, so that we had to turn it off in order to get a sleep. Otherwise we got what we expected - furniture and curteins were old and tired.
Breakfast was not optional to be included so we had to go to restaurant in the morning and order it as in a usual restaurant at any time. But food was good and service professional.
The hotel has a pool which was very nice and spacious. Thumbs up for that!
So we wanted to get a professional golf course but the administrator didn’t know anything about a green card and neither offered us anykind of alternatives. There were no golf trainers available nor at all, I don’t know at the moment. It was very dissapointing since it was the main reason to stay in that resort.
So our second choice of activities was tennis. We got the balls (3) and rackets. These were not suitable to play with. And ofcourse there were no trainers nor any people at all that could play tennis with.
Wireless was quite good in the lobby and by the poolside. Unfortunately it didn’t work in our room.
But the view and nature around the resort is very beautiful.

Location - The property is off Lipa's city proper so guests will either have to drive or take a tricycle from Fiesta Mall to get there. It is quite far from the shopping areas and restaurants so guests will have limited options for eating and other activities. Still, the place would be perfect for those who are looking for some quiet time.
Check-In/Out - We were picked up from Gate 1 and taken in a comfortable shuttle van going to the Golf Club where the Front Desk is. But there was no one at the reception when we arrived considering it was supposed to be the hotel's standard check-in time for the guests. Only when we cleared our throats loudly that the FO went out from their back office. Registration was processed quickly and we were brought by the shuttle to our room in the Narra Suites. Check-Out was also processed quickly but the FO was not proactive and did not bother at all to ask if we needed a ride back to the gate. It was raining hard at that time. So we just waited in the lobby until the rain stopped. By then, we approached the FO to ask if there is an available shuttle to take us out of the property. When she realized it, she radioed her colleagues to arrange a buggy for us.
Room – The room was a bit gloomy yet it was clean, spacious and offered basic furnishings. It had a huge bed, fridge, water boiler, air conditioner, working desk and flat TV. However, there was no electronic safe and working telephone inside the room. It also had a bathroom equipped with bathtub and hot/cold shower. The room was located at the ground level and did not offer any view of the beautiful golf course.
Facilities/Food - The property has a huge pool, a children's playground and a gym. We were not able to use any of those facilities as we were just resting the entire time. It also has two restaurants - Sand Trap Lounge and Arirang. We had dinner at the Sand Trap Lounge but did not enjoy it. Apart from having short operating hours, the food quality was mediocre and pricey. It felt like eating at Jollibee would have been so much better. The Wi-Fi connection was spotty and the cable TV signal was fuzzy and distorted the entire time. Since there was no phone inside the room, we had to text the FO every time we needed something to be done.
Service - The overall service was just average and unexceptional. Considering it was a weekday with them having only a few guests, I don't even remember any one delivering heartfelt and warm customer service.
Overall, it feels like the property is probably past its best.

We stayed for 4 nights in this hotel with my 3 kids. There is nothing much you can do in this place. The whole package itself is already costly and when you go to the pool and requested for towels they will charge it to your room, the same thing with the play area there is also a fee eventhough im a hotel guest.... strange.!
The carpet in the room... terrible!
I won't be coming back to this place .... I am not recommending it either.

Purpose: Looking for a nice hotel to relax (staycation), do a little work, and enjoy the hotel amenities since there is nothing to see/visit within the vicinity/Lipa area.
Rating: 3 stars overall but 2 stars on customer service
+ Recommended if you are into golf, otherwise, look for other hotels
+ Greens everywhere (because it is indeed a golf course :)
+ Cooler climate. Nice ambience.
+ Helpful guards at the entrance. Friendly roving guard.
+ Nice pool. Big. Good for laps.
+ Gym, badminton courts, basketball courts but be ready to pay extra
- Not so helpful staff. Tendency to judge based on outward appearance. Selective service
- Nothing is free except the pool. You need to pay for all other amenities like gym, use of court, use of bike, etc.
- No free breakfast but with no other choice but 2 restaurants within the compound
- 2 restaurants (1 Korean, 1 generic/fusion). The latter has a dress code, e.g. no slippers, etc but this is actually not applicable to all. While we try to adhere to this policy because we were specifically informed at check in that there is a dress code, other customers just ignored it. Also, staff at the restaurant are not so friendly and same as the front desk/gym, selective service as well.
- No internet in the room, only in public areas
- Customer Service: needs improvement. Don't make your guests feel ignored. Most especially, never make them feel inferior due to the color (or texture haha) of their skin, their getup,or whether they arrived in the hotel thru a tricycle, a rented car, or a private vehicle. Been to lots of hotels in and around Asia but I never expected to be discriminated in my own country :(
Others:
If you want to eat outside and you don't have a ride, you can either request for a shuttle service to the main entrance and wait for a tricycle or jeepney along the main road, or pay Php 300 so they can bring you to the city center, e.g. SM Lipa. SM Lipa is 10-15 minutes away.
From Manila, you can take JAM bus to Lipa City and take a tricycle to the entrance of Malarayat (gate 1). The guard will then call front desk so they can send over the shuttle to pick you up. If you don't want to take the bus, you can enter into a contract with a taxi in Manila or in our case, we contracted our Uber driver to bring us to Lipa City. Contract price is Php 3K all in for almost 1.5 hours travel (depending on traffic).

Since you don't have a car, you may ask the reception for a buggy service going to the gate and try your luck getting a tricycle on the road.
Or: You may get the mobile # of the tricycle driver while you are still in the city and let him (and another one, since 9 can't fit in just 1 tricycle) fetch you at certain time at night from the country club then go in SM Lipa or somewhere else for a movie, shopping or just a tour around. I especially like the trips around the place as the air is fresh. But you have to check first how much you should pay prior to make sure they won't ripped off your wallets. :)
