The Story of Hotel 1925 From the family who brought you Casa Marikit Ristorante Italiano, the very first fine dining Italian restaurant in Lipa City, comes an untold story of hard work and perseverance. Hailing from a very poor family, surviving the Japanese occupation and battling tuberculosis, Rufino “PINONG” M. Mojares was saved by his enterprising spirit. Working from a very young age, he bought and sold anything and everything under the sun to make ends meet. From trading second-hand tires to selling appliances, manufacturing jeepneys, selling motorcycles and feedmilling, he started making his mark in the world of business. With the passage of time, his businesses grew and diversified. He closed some doors and opened new ones. Where there was once an open-space warehouse now stands a beauty to behold. What used to be a rough cement floor is now covered with machuca tiles. Old wood was turned into embellishment. The grand staircase preserves the scars and secrets of the past.

Detailed Reviews
After we settled in, we found out that the Mi Box isn't working so we had to transfer rooms which is a huge hassle. Also, room was not totally clean. We found a snail inside the room and even an old, used face mask. Hope they improve the cleanliness most especially it's the pandemic. The breakfast was not good as well, we barely finished it. Hope they can improve the overall experience since their rate is high.

Theme is pre Spanish era. Furnitures and decorations are mostly old/antique.
Clean rooms and courteous staff. With limited amenities, the price might be too high for some.
Conveniently located near mall and city of Lipa.

Accessible from Metro Manila. Ideal for a weekend getaway. Relatively new hotel with an old charm. Attentive staff, nice ambiance, good food, cozy place for a family bonding. The hotel has two restaurants serving Filipino and Italian dishes. We’ll come back again.

We really wanted to love this place. Came highly recommended from a family member who travels a lot. Unfortunately, seems they focus more on being an event venue vs giving guests appropriate treatment and hospitality. I gave them many chances to make it right with us and have not heard back from them, so we have to give a one star review.
1. Poor signal in general, internet vouchers provided don’t work, all our data was used up during our stay
2. Included breakfast was mediocre at best and you had to preorder from a menu that was half unavailable, and set up a time to be served downstairs in their restaurant which also had poor service
3. I paid for three guests and only received one extra bath towel, no hand or face towel. When I called to get some, they tried to charge me per piece, including the bath mat I asked to be replaced because the bidet had leaked on it and housekeeping didn’t replace it when they cleaned the bathroom. Upon check out, they sent someone to my room to count the towels to make sure I didn’t take any home with me.
4. The pizza place D’Ursi, didn’t have enough chairs for my party of 5 adults and 1 child, even though there was table space. We decided to get room service since apparently they couldn’t find chairs since they were being used by two simultaneous events that evening. We had a large order and they were missing a lot of stuff. We ordered a salad that was basically lettuce and sliced apples. Since I had to call so many times and was just so tired, and frankly embarrassed that I invited my friends over to complain right there and then, they didn’t provide any discount for the meals when I was trying to settle at check out. I understand that billing and posted things could be a challenge to reverse, but I gave them chances to give us a gift certificate for future use and the lady, Phoebe, I think at the front desk was very nice. But it didn’t seem management cared too much about their reputation to just make it up to us. Nice place but lack of hospitality and professionalism.

Im booked right now here at Hotel 1925, the receptionist Judy Ann keeps on charging me for additionals without explaining it properly why there are so much charges. When I only have my 2 kids with me and not even requesting for anything or not using anything. When I asked her she was just staring at me blankly.

The worst hotel I stayed in while I am travelling the world. The WiFi is too slow, I suffered at least 2 power cuts a day, there is no place to put a toilet bag in the bathroom and nothing to put your suitcase and open it comfortably. And the philippino restaurant associated to the hotel is not able to deliver a simple eggs and bacon at breakfast, neither to honour the proposed menu. Zero, zero, zero !!!!!

Before this hotel I stayed in other one, which was worse that 1925.
1925 is great hotel, with nice rooms. Hotel provides transfer services.
Breakfast is fine but better book it in advance as waiting can be time consuming.
Hot water in shower has no much pressure, but as I understood this situation is in all Philippines.
Best hotel I see in Luson.
Also nice restaurants in the first floor!

This kktel is relatively new ut its interiors project an old world charm. The interiors bring you back to the 1920's. The food is good and the staff friendly, efficient and courteous. There are two restaurants downstairs. The stairway really speaks of an old world gone by.

+1
Hotel 1925 is a lovely li’l hotel hidden behind a gasoline station, more of a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it if you weren’t paying close attention to waze. Don’t get me wrong, i liked the old charm and the nostalgia it evokes that’ll make you reminisce the past. I especially loved the grand stairs leading up to the 2nd floor front desk. It was a breeze checking in even though we arrived past 8pm. Asked for my ID and P500 pesos incidental deposit. (The room was already prepaid thru agoda). I booked the balcony suite at room 201 and it was spacious enough for 2. The bed was ok, not too soft but not too stiff. I liked the pillows and the white sheets. There’s toiletries in the bathroom and some towels, 2 complimentary bottled water and some bag of teas. One of the staff offered to carry our bag and led us to our room. We asked her for extra pillows and she reluctantly answered that there is a fee for that, so we just said ok, just bring us the pillows. We dropped by the front desk to ask about the charge and fortunately, he told us that, that won’t be necessary. Well, kudos for that! The Italian restaurant downstairs, D’Ursi pizza was great. Not too many guests that evening even though it was a weekend. Although not cheap, I think it was worth every penny. Don’t miss their salmon! It was heavenly! When we got back into our room, our requested pillows were already there. The water pressure in the shower was very weak but tolerable. It’ll just take you longer to take a shower. There is a bit of a water leak in the bathroom floor but it was all dried up in the morning. It was quite noisy in our room in the wee hours of the morning. You could hear the cars blowing their horns and tricycles speeding up. (Please sound proof your suites, because it’s a turn off!) I wasn’t crazy about the balcony either. It was facing the guard house and the gasoline station in the main road, so thanks but no thanks, I am not going out there. The complimentary breakfast at a Filipino restaurant downstairs, Imprenta was a treat! The boneless bangus was good and so is their corned beef slices. We ordered their beef tapa as well, (which we paid) but it was a bit salty for our taste. Time to get ready for our checkout at noon, so we requested for 2 extra bath towels and a roll of tissue. Again, they told us that there is an extra charge for that. Okay!!! Upon check out, they really did charged us for the towels and the tissue!!! P100 pesos for the 2 towels and 10 for the tissue. I mean, come on!!!! I booked a suite, their biggest room and I get charged for extra towels and a tissue roll?!??!!! Do they expect their guests to reuse their towels? Providing at least 4 bath towels since it’s a suite, i think is not too much to ask. They don’t even have a mini fridge in their suite and a box of facial tissue. I felt really disappointed because these are standard in every hotel room, what more if it’s a suite. Also inappropriate was the attitude of the front desk lady. Does she really have to ask one of the househelp staff to check right then and there our room in our faces before refunding my deposit. It’s as if she doesn’t trust their guests. When guests check out, they are usually asked if they consumed anything in the fridge or mini bar but since they don’t have both, what is there to check?!?? Towels??? To see if we stole it?!?? Pleaaaassseee!!! I didn’t even touched the bag of teas because I honestly don’t know if they are going to charge me for that if I use it. Discretion is the key word so as not to offend your guests. Anyway, I hope that the management address this issue because if you’re going to ask me if I will return, my answer right now is a big NO. And to whoever that lady was in the front desk, be discreet next time.

Dear Ma’am, Thank you very much for your comprehensive review on your recent stay with us. We are glad to hear that you had an express check-in and that you enjoyed your meals at D’ursi and Imprenta. We apologize for the way your check-out was handled. We have spoken to the concerned Front Desk Officer. Rest assured we will continue to improve our check-out process.
