The place is newly built or renovated. The staff are not as hospitable as I expected. Probably because its just a regular lodge (apart from being newly built/renovated) so somehow management doesnt care about quality service. Anyway, it serves it purpose as a place to stay near the pier. There is a guard ensuring the safety and security of the guests.

As to the room, the size is more than i expected. They provided the basic amenities. What i just find it bad is their air conditioning. It took hours before the room temperature come down to the coolness i want. I think its because the unit is not suited to the size of the room or its just old.

I like that the room has a good size bed - queen size i guess. It also provides a cabinet and a table as well as large mirror.

The towel is only medium size and not as soft and thick.

I will consider staying here again.

Was in Bislig City and scouting for a decent place to stay in Surigao City near the port at the last minute. Staff was accommodating and assisted me with my booking. Got two rooms (each with two beds) for me and my friends. They’ve got clean room and bathroom, with TV and telephone.

The cafeteria at the ground floor has hot and cold water that’s available for those leaving on an early morning trip to Siargao.

It’s very accessible as it’s by the road, yet safe coz it has a security guard.

Stayed overnight in their standard room for two. Php 950 for air-conditioned room, queen-size bed, hot/cold shower, 32" flat screen tv with cable channel, and cabinet. The price is okay. Especially when you need a comfortable place to sleep after an exhausting travel from Manila to Butuan then Butuan to Surigao.

Location wise, good. 3-5 minutes going to the port. The place is close to the main town, market and eateries. It's also safe, they have a guard on duty 24/7.

Cons? We're already up at 3am since we plan to leave early. So disappointed to know that there's no water pressure in the shower and even in faucet. I don't know if its just because they had to close the water valve in the morning, or what. But still, it shouldn't be that way. Not to mention that the air-conditioned unit is dripping with water.

Overall, this is an average budget hotel.

I've always thought that inns become seedier the nearer you get to the commercial hub. I was wrong.

Miami Suites was recommended by the awesome owner of J-Spot (check it out!). It just opened last year, and already it had limited vacancies when I checked in. I got there at about 11:30 in the evening, and the desk staff was still alert and gracious (at midnight!). Right there, he offered the cheapest available room for solo vacancy--and this surprised me because the other Surigao inns/hotels won't give you the cheapest room if you don't ask for it. When I told him that I would be checking out by 4:30 AM, he offered to provide a wake-up service at 4:15 AM. Talk about attentive!

The lobby is small, but looks modern and chic. I got a Standard Room on the 3rd (?) floor; the building has no service elevators, so be prepared to climb stairs.

I was greeted by a super-clean room with a really efficient layout: a small, wall-mounted LCD TV loomed over a compact console and chair, a large mirror with a floating shelf and outlet, and a tall, wooden armoire in the corner that stood flush to a really comfortable daybed all fit comfortably in the room (about 16 sqm without the bathroom). Shampoo, soap, tissue, and a bath towel folded into a swan sat on the bed.

The bathroom is more spacious than E.Y. Suite's, and it's super clean. I always appreciate a dry, neutral-smelling bathroom, and this is it. This is also the only hotel/inn toilet in Surigao that has a bidet! Very nice. The water heater could only handle a small volume of water though, so ask for a room with a cooperative heater.

If you're looking for a cheap accommodation with a clean and spacious bathroom, and appreciates a minimalist layout without the design frou-frou, Miami City Suites just might be your home away from home in Surigao City.

My first impression was good, because its a well located and new hotel.
But that's the only positive points that you will find.
Internet was not working in the room (they tell me "Sorry Sir the room is too far from the Wifi). Then water stopped when i was taking a shower, i had to finish my shower with just a trickle of cold water. It happened again at night. (They again told me "we are sorry sir")
Then in the morning, for the breakfast, i asked for hot water for my Milo. We were the only 2 customers, 4 "workers" were in the restaurant, and one showed me the water dispenser!! None of them stood up to get the water for us, we had to get it by ourselves. And finally, one breakfast was included in the price of the room, and they tried to make me pay the more expensive breakfast. I had to complain to pay the lowest one (they again answered me "we are sorry sir")
It's the "we are sorry Sir" Hotel!

I booked there for me and my family's stay. Family room 2 is so spacious. It is just walking distance to the Catholic church, San Nicolas Cathedral. Accessible by almost 24 hours city tricycle. Tranquil place.

Could hardly find an accommodation with a cheaper rate so we ended up here. Rate was just fair. No elevator and we were located in the 3rd floor. Good thing everyone was attentive, from the guard to the reception desk and their room attendant who immediately brought our luggage to the room. Less water in the shower in the afternoon but as stated in the notification in the wall, i had to call them to have it restored which they did immediately. Free breakfast was for 1 person only. At least they had it. Purchasing another meal was no problem as the price was still fair and they served it fast. Another plus was a free transportation to the airport at our preferred time.

Stayed here for 3 nights (one night at their 850 room and 2 nights at their 750 room) and I can say that you're really getting your money's worth! Good clean and spacious room with cable tv, aircon, hot shower and pretty fast wifi connection! Hotel lobby and hallways are also clean and has an elegant to corporate feel. Staff are also very accommodating and friendly. Recommended stay if you're in for a few nights and on a tight budget.

Pros:
Fast wifi
Cable tv, aircon, and hot shower
Good location near the city center
Clean rooms

Cons:
Sometimes water heater does not automatically turn on if there's low water pressure.

Miami Suite is located near the market center. Althu it is not so visible from the road as it is accessible thru a one lane short driveway that lead to small lobby door on left side and right ahead to a rear parking area. the rooms are very clean, contemporary in design with 2 extra large mattress. The shower rooms are large in transparent panels and very convenient. Miami suite had a cafe adjoining the lobby but fold would not be an issue as restaurants are just a few steps outside. With extra large room space and large dressers could accommodate 5 laptops... just too bad that WIFI is only availbble at their lobby. Privacy, cleanliness, modern, safety, parking area are thumbs up. Price is reasonable for the nice big modern rooms.

This hotel has a great location and pretty much the little the town has to offer is within walking distance. It is a new hotel (2013) that caters to budget travellers. Still has most of the amenities you require, ac, hot shower, internet in most of the rooms, cabel tv. Here is what they need, safteybox, a keycard that automatically tuns off the power when leaving the room. Reason for this is that the staff will go into the room and check it as soon as you leave, this is done without any information and needs to change. This is also the only reason for the average rating, better saftey and the rating would be higher.
