the physical status of the hotel in general consistently deteriorated during my ten stays -purely due to the location- between 2002 to 2019..when I finally gave up. Bathrooms are cubicles and very old...carpets, avoid even with shoes..elevators, pray before you board. breakfast veery modest . View, excellent. Price, 80 euros incl. breakfast. In view of the alternativs, no, thank you.
Blue Sea Hotel is on the seafront in an excellent position within minutes of the port and about 10 km from the airport. It is a quiet, clean hotel, all the facilities work including air conditioning and a minibar. Lunch and evening meals are not served but there are numerous restaurants nearby. For me it was a pleasant stay, the staff was friendly.
The location 2 minutes from the ferry terminal and also with a view over the port is excellent. The breakfast is varied, but not excessive - and certainly enough for most tastes. We had a suite - a corner room, so we could see in "all" directions. Nice to sit outside and watch the city after sunset. Staff is friendly
We stayed only one night in this hotel. Perfect location and very friendly staff. Breakfast was good enough. Room was clean and tidy. We asked 2 more hours for extended checkout and they was so kind that we are allowed. If I visit this island again this would be my place to stay for sure
There are 3 good things about this hotel. The staff who were great, the room (apart from the bathroom) and the view of the harbour. It seems that the rooms have been renovated but someone forgot to renovate the bathroom in the room. In the room we had the bathroom was stuck in the 80's, many of the fixtures were well worn (see photos attached) and it smelt of a sickly mouldy smell. I felt sorry for the cleaners who have no hoping of cleaning the failing fixtures. The carpet in the hallways leading to the rooms was disgraceful and had stains everywhere, perhaps they were laid when the bathrooms were installed. Additionally the hallways were stifling hot as there was no air conditioning. The only relief was when you got to the room and turned on the air. As with many hotels these days they only give out one access card so you can't leave the air on while your out hoping to return to a cool room. Breakfast was extremely poor. Instead of juice they had what tasted like tang, which is a powder mixed with water. What was supposed to be bacon was a poor imitation as they fried up some kind of cheap ham slices. To make it an even worse experience the owner of the hotel insisted on sitting in the restaurant right near the entry from the foyer and then spent his time yelling out to the receptionist who had to keep coming and seeing him to be given chores. He was also annoying the restaurant staff (1) in the same manner. If you need to talk to your staff papou the best way to do it is in private and not in the area where your customers are trying to sit and relax.…
