Get ready to spark your nostalgia - and cox your kids into abandoning their video games (shhh... you don't have to tell them we have free WiFi!) Share all the ingredients of a classic American summer: 286 feet of shoreline for swimming, sailing, fishing, scuba-diving and sandcastle construction + a large, shaded yard perfect for napping, reading, and swinging to your heart's content. Located in the heart of Jacksonport, we wan you to enjoy the atmosphere of our small, quite village. Bring home sweet treats like Door county Fudge at Bley's grocery next door, pick up some fresh ingredients from the Tuesdays Farmer's market to create family memories around the open kitchen inside our cottages, or bury your feet in the sand while you cook kabobs at the fire pit. For the adventurous at heart, we have a historical sunken pier in the waters just off the beach and 3 shipwrecks in the National Historic Wharf complex. There are magnificent hiking trails nearby at Whitefish Dunes State Park and Cave Point County Park. Plus we have a wonderful lakefront beach park just a block away, the perfect summer stroll. Door County offer amazing scenery in every season. Daffodils are already popping up which means the cherry and apple blossoms of spring are sure to come soon. Join one of the many Spring Blossom Trolley tours, take a 45-minute hike around our favorite Jacksonport loop (free maps are available in your room), or take a DIY-trip around to the many lighthouses, orchards and festivals around the county. After your voyages, you can be back in 15 minutes to enjoy a nice glass of wine on the beach and watch the sunset colors wrap around the sky with a crackling fire. All the comforts of home await you with tvs, showers, baths and electric heat. Then wake up to a spectacular sunrise and enjoy coffee on the beach.

Clean no frills room on Lake Michigan beach front. Guests are able to relax at the beach, play in the sand and enjoy the lounge chairs while the waves splash nearby. Nice little coffee shop on site. We will stay here again.

Wonderful and cozy hotel with a wonderful view. Family friendly and good for couples. Off the beaten path. Quiet and laid back. Staff is very sweet, you can tell they take pride in their work. Has a cottage feel to it. Look forward to coming back.

Excellent place to stay. The rooms are good size, they are clean, they offer great views of Lake Michigan, and the hospitality is great as it is family owned and operated.
They also have a coffee shop with large windows looking out to the lake, a great way to start your morning. Finally, you’ve got to have a scone, simply the best!

we booked this lodge based on current reviews and because it was somewhat close to our destination. upon arrival we checked in and got our room which was room 12 lakeside ,which we thought was nice due to the view we had, upon entering the room we noticed a musty smell to the room ,as we procceded to put our things we turn the water on in the sink and in the shower, both seemed to be clogged due to the very slow drainage. after staying one nite there we decided to check out a day early due to these problems ,wont be going back there.

Response from elizabeth leclair, Owner at Square Rigger Lodge
Responded Oct 4, 2020
We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed in your stay, but are glad to hear that you enjoyed the view. We would have been happy to attend to the problems mentioned sooner if we would have heard about them. But with your mention of the issues here, we were able to fix the drain problems. The room you were in is near the cedar trees which are on the property. If you are unfamiliar with with that smell, it's a camphoaceous top note with a woodsy, balsamic undernote, and perhaps that was 'musty.' Others who have stayed have enjoyed it. Each season brings differing smells from nature, and we welcome you to try during another time of the year that might suit you better. Best wishes on your next visit to Door County.

A great place to stay for a Door County weekend.
The room was comfortable with everything we needed.
The lake view is amazing. The sunrise and clouds were gorgeous.
It is perfectly located to get to things we wanted to do like the Cana lighthouse, Cave Point park and it was not far to the Bayside.
The staff was very mid-western friendly and happy to chat. We had breakfast at the little cafe, the day it was open and it was good. The other day we enjoyed the free coffee in the lobby.

Family friendly cottages and lodge! Very well run and recently under new ownership. Family owned and operated. We have stayed here twice before but new owners have upgraded and updated rooms. Right next to beach, infact you can walk out of your room into beach. Cute coffee shop attached to lodge. Highly recommended! We'll be back for sure.

Very clean, quiet motel with private beach on Lake Michigan. Reasonable rates for Door County. Bed was comfortable too. Even the landscaping was well tended with beautiful flowers. All employees we encountered were helpful and friendly. We will not hesitate to stay here again!

What a cute charming place. The owner Elizabeth goes above and beyond for her guests. We rented out the entire place for a family reunion of 47. It’s on the quiet side of the peninsula which worked out perfect for our group. Highly recommended.

This is my 2nd year staying here with these new owners and I can’t say enough about them. They go above and beyond to ensure your stay is wonderful. They continue to make lovely updates/improvements to this beautiful waterfront location. I look forward to future stays and seeing their vision unfold.

October 2021, Amazing location, great staff, great pricing and what a view of Lake Michigan. The morning sunrises were breath taking. Convenient location, was able to see Door County and circle right back to our hotel. We were on our belated Honeymoon. We will be back in the future.
