It's a motel inside the national park. Which is all we really wanted. The location was awesome. You are short walk to the beautiful rim. The rooms are nothing special. The food all over the park, including here, was not good. We booked this room as part of a Grand Canyon Railway Hotel package. I'm glad we did it. Just know you are going for the convenience and location of having the extra time in the canyon. That's it.
we stayed here one night for easy access to the Grand Canyon; it is such an amazing place that one is speechless; the facility was very clean; spacious enough; staff helpful ; food for breakfast only so so
We stayed for two nights during the middle of a snowstorm. Stayed in Shasta Building which was recently renovated. Unit conditions were very good. Our room was on 2nd flr and the building had an elevator. Food court area and food selections were OK. Park shuttles were very convenient and the shuttle drivers ranged from excellent to below average. Would definitely stay again.
My family of five stayed here in July 2022. The hotel feels brand new. We loved it. Two comfy queen beds and we managed to squeeze in a twin air mattress. We really enjoyed having a small terrace to get some fresh air. Location is just a 3 or 4 minute walk to the rim. Great location!!! The only disappointing thing was the food court at Maswik. It was all pretty gross. I'd eat elsewhere but the newness of the rooms and the location make this one a winner!
We stayed in "Burrow" and absolutely loved our accommodations. This building seems to have been newly renovated. Everything was really clean, the beds were super comfy, and, despite being right next to the entrance/exit to the building, we didn't hear much of anything going on outside the room at night. We really like the little porch outside, it would be really cool to stay here at another time of year when we could get more use out of it. The bathroom also has a barn door, which is just a cute and different feature for a hotel. This was the first time I stayed inside the park and it was very convenient. Food inside the park is pretty expensive, but we came prepared with snacks and drinks and ate dinner at the food court at the lodge which turned out better than expected.
Clean and comfortable hotel. Fantastic customer service! We stayed in the “Burrow” building, which appears to have been newly remodeled. There is a refrigerator in your room but no microwave. Plan to pack some breakfast food for your room if you can, as the cafeteria options meal options are expensive and not terribly hot.
This was my first visit to the Grand Canyon in the winter and also the first time that I’d be staying in proper lodging (versus camping in a tent). There were some good deals to be had so I chose the Maswick Lodge and it turned out to be a great choice. The location was wonderful and looking out the back window was just forest. The room was really comfortable and the heat worked really well. The hot water worked just fine and the rooms were pretty insulated from noise. The main part of the lodge was a hub for shuttles and the dining area was convenient. Might be hard to go back to camping after this!
Great new cabins parking right outside with free EV charging. Large clean room we had 2 beds and a mini kitchen with microwave and large fridge freezer. Couldn’t fault it the staff were helpful and friendly Rooms are located in separate 2 storey buildings
A great, cozy hotel in a fabulous location. The room is spacious and comfortable and was nice and warm upon arrival. The rooms are spread out in several two-story buildings, but be prepared if you are on the second floor to carry your luggage as there isn't an elevator (at least for our building). The staff was very friendly and helpful and there is a cafeteria, pizza restaurant and gift shop right next to reception. The rim and the rest of the village are a short walk away. We walked down to the rim at night to view the stars and the Milky Way - so magical! We were also in a good spot to get up early and see the sunset. Worth paying a little more for the location right by the canyon.
As we were visiting Grand Canyon out of season, we could afford to stay in the National Park, which becomes prohibitively expensive during peak season. Maswick Lodge is super convenient as a base for visiting the Canyon and is even walkable to the South Rim / Hermits Road. I would recommend paying a little bit more for an upgraded room. The rooms were a decent size, with a small fridge, coffee machine and small table for eating. There was also a little balcony, which, as we were visiting during a period of snow and ice, we did not get to make the most of. Make sure you stock up on supplies before you get to Grand Canyon Village as eating options are quite limited. We did eat in the Pizza Pub one evening, which was a bit of an underwhelming experience. The pizza was a good size and tasty enough, it was plenty for two people with enough left over for lunch the following day. But the service was not good, our plates were not cleared away and the bar tender could not seem to pour two drinks without getting confused. For the price ($30 for a 16’ pizza) I would expect more, but the perils of a captive audience means they don’t need to make the effort. My only real complaint is that we were here for 3 nights and our room was not cleaned during that period, not sure if this is normal but it got a little gross with overflowing bins and soggy towels towards the end.…
