Stayed here for 2 nights with our Petropolitan Manila family. Although the road travel is roughly about 5 hours away from Manila, we were not disappointed upon arrival. Even during our trip going to their resort, Kuya Manny (caretaker) checks up on us, asks us where we were! We stayed here at their Rey's Shore Penthouse from May 17-19, 2019. We were 16 in all, 14 adults, 2 kids, plus 8 dogs and our kitty! And here are pros/cons of their place: PROS: 1. Rey's shore penthouse can house all of us 16 people. It has its own tv, ref, 2 crs (one with water heater, one without). Beds are twin sized, although they advertise it as queen beds. And there are 2 free floor mattresses, and we paid 1 floor mattress for P300. 2. The penthouse is beach front! You can see Potipot island from the windows. 3. We have our own balcony. 4. For cooking gas, we paid additional P600 for rent, but it's ok at least we had it available exclusively for us. 5. Near our penthouse, we have 2 outside shower areas, 2 sinks. 6. Beach is relatively clean, pure sand, not rocky. 7. This is a pet friendly resort!!!! They even have their own dogs at the resort too! :) Our 8 dogs and 1 cat were able to sleep well, and we were not even cramped up in our room! 8. In our penthouse, we even have an extra wooden sofa/ bench. 9. There is a nearby tindahan where we can buy purified water, purified ice, other necessities like soap, laundry soap, toothpaste etc. And we made palista, so we just paid it upon our departure from their resort. 10. Kuya Manny and his staff are all so friendly and very accommodating! The best so far we have ever received in all the other nearby resorts we stayed at in. 11. The beds/ linens/ pillows are all clean and brand new! Plus they are not mismatched. :) 12. The restrooms are clean and spacious, with 2 free toilet papers. 13. The resort has many trees so it keeps the resort cooler. Plus we were able to tie our own string hammock! 14. They have their own boat for when going to Potipot island. CONS: 1. There is a P30 corkage fee per person. 2. The penthouse where we stayed at in, had 1 a/c which wasn't sufficient to keep the room cool. Although it also had 2 ceiling fans, still the heat was overpowering. 3. The beach was swimmable. However, biglang lalim. So have to be really careful especially for those non swimmers. 4. They allowed karaokes, although I know this is the norm when out on outings, however it's annoying for those who are really trying to get some sleep. Overall, this place suits all our needs. Plus their excellent service tops all the other resorts we've been to as a big group. We are definitely coming back here again. :)…
Manong Cy is very friendly and hospitable! Rooms are clean, modern and affordable. We had an amazing stay at Puerto Del Mar. Highly recommended place if you are planning to visit Potipot Island. We will stay here again!
Visited Puerto Del Mar this month of May 2018. Place was really recommendable, we stayed for 3D/2N at FIJI Dormitory, room comes with 4 double deck, a private toilet. No TV unlike other room accomodation. Room rates was cheaper compare to other resorts. But don’t expect swimming pool unlike other nearby beach resort in Candelaria. Please bring your own toiletries like towel, shampoo, soap and etc. resort didn’t provide any of these. Resort doesn’t have their own restaurant, but you need to pay a mandatory corkage fee of Php30 per peson per day. If you want a less hussle for cooking, they are offering a “PALUTO” just tell or ask to the information or to any staff inside the resort. But if want to cook, they have a separate common area for cooking. Talipapa is just 5minutes away from the resort, located along the highway. You can buy fresh fish, pork etc. there. Place was 5minutes boat ride if you are planning to visit Potipot Island. Since we’re 10pax we pay for the boat ride Php800 (going/return). Beach is kids friendly, so no worries. Do not expect white sand since candelaria beaches are brown sand as far as i know. The beach is clean, smooth sands and no stones unlike others. Sunset view is also very nice in this place. 👍🏼…
we stayed here end of April 2017. there were 3 of us friends. i love the location as 'twas just a 5-minute boat ride to the lovely Potipot island. The resort has its own boat where we just paid P400 per round trip. i liked the food cooked as requested, staff are nice also. only that there was a videoke noise at night that hampered our restful sleep. :)
This became our home base for our Potipot Island getaway. Stayed here for 3d/2n and we went to Potipot Island on the 2nd day. The resort has its own boat to ferry guests to and from the island. The boat is bigger than the usual outrigger boats I've ridden that's why I wasn't worried about the safety of my family. We stayed at the Premium Bahay Kubo which is big enough for a family of 4. It comes with a ref, cable TV, hot shower. No Toiletries and towels were provided. The resort has no restaurant. But you can ask Nanay to cook something for you. Which is what we did coz we got no time for cooking but there's a common kitchen for those who would want to cook their own food. Will I be coming? Definitely yes.
