Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo stands out for its prime location in Shinjuku, with guests frequently commending the ease of access to the train station and nearby attractions. The service is generally well-regarded, with staff members earning accolades for their professionalism, although there are occasional remarks about slow check-ins. Cleanliness is a highlight, with the upkeep of rooms and facilities often mentioned, yet some visitors suggest the rooms could benefit from modernization. While the hotel offers a broad range of amenities, opinions on value and room quality vary, with some describing the rooms as spacious with impressive views, and others viewing them as outdated and not justifying the price point.

I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a package tour arranged by a UK travel agent and I was pleasantly surprised.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, just 5 minutes' walk from the massive Shinjuku railway station and the myriad of department stores, shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities around that busy part of Tokyo. That said, the hotel is set in a quiet business / commercial area and there was a pleasant park close by. It is also close to a local government building which has a free of charge observatory from where you can enjoy amazing views of the sprawling metropolis and a nightly light show projected onto it, both of which are definitely worth seeing.

The hotel itself is a bit dated in terms of its lobby area, but the reception staff spoke amazing English and offered exceptional service. Our smart, clean, well-appointed twin room on the 19th floor of the South Tower was recently renovated, exceptionally spacious (especially by Tokyo standards) and was very quiet and comfortable indeed. The bathroom was a little more dated decoratively but had a great shower, tub, the ubiquitous Toto Washlet (Japanese automated toilet / bidet) and a fabulous selection of toiletries and amenities.

Breakfast was served buffet style in a bright, spotlessly clean and smartly fitted 2nd floor restaurant and offered a good choice of quality western and traditional Japanese breakfast items. Again, the service was efficient, attentive and courteous.
The hotel offers a number of other dining choices and a really handy, affordably priced 24hr (or very nearly 24hrs!) convenience store too.

I'd definitely stay here again on a future visit and would be happy to recommend it to others.

I always look at reviews before choosing where to stay. So that lead me to Keio Plaza.

The hotel prices in Tokyo run the gammot from under $100 CDN, to thousands. Keio Plaza is a big hotel and is not cheap. But depending on what you are looking for, you get your money's worth.

I stayed on the Premier floors, room was quite big for Tokyo standards and recently refurbished. If there was something I didn't love, I guess the bed. North Americans are used to softer beds, and I knew coming again to Asia the beds would be hard. Even at a 5 star. They will add blankets under the sheets to help l, if you ask them.

The hotel staff is well trained, and treat you with utmost respect. Every single person.who works here from housekeeping to front desk are all just professional and politely Japanese. I feel special here, which feels good.

Breakfast and lounge was included with my rate. Top floor is lounge with awesome view around. Drinks, desserts and sandwiches during certain times is relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and varies for both Japanese and Western tastes.

So very little to complain about, very little. The have it right. Just hard bed, but that's how Japanese people like it.

My husband and I spent a two week vacation in Japan and decided to stay at the Keio Plaza for our five nights in Tokyo, we were impressed with the hotel since the moment we arrived; we reserved a Premier Grand- Deluxe King room, which also gave us access to the Club Lounge. We would highly recommend this option, it really made the experience amazing since checking-in.
The room was very spacious with a very nice decoration, the bed was extremely comfortable, the bathtub and shower were great and all the toiletries and features were high end.
We truly enjoyed the Club Lounge for appetizers and drinks every evening, not only everything was exquisite, but the view was beautiful and the ambiance and service really great.
We had two lunches at the hotel, one at their Chinese and one at their Japanese, both on the ground floor, they were both amazing!
Although the Club Lounge was one of the options for Breakfast, we had all our breakfasts at their buffet, which was incredible, a variety of local and international options made breakfast delicious every morning.
The hotel has several restaurants with a variety of cuisines and options.
Although the premier rooms had access to the pool, we did not have good weather to be able to enjoy it, but it is certainly great to have an outdoors pool at the hotel, it is nice!
Location is excellent with easy access to the subway and trains.
Overall we enjoyed our experience very much, would highlight recommend the Keio Plaza and will definitely stay again next time we are in Tokyo.

We actually stayed here slightly over a year ago, May 31- June 4/ 2023, but I had to write this very delayed review to give shoutout to the amazing staff of Keio Plaza Tokyo! Especially Htet - san (Htet is his last name, I assume?), who went above and beyond to extend our stay when our flight to Okinawa got cancelled due to typhoon! Our plan was to spend one night in Tokyo then fly to Okinawa the next day. When I turned on my phone upon arrival at Narita, there it was, notice from ANA of the flight cancellation due to the weather. We had to either extend at Keio Plaza or find another hotel in Tokyo. Other hotel we booked for stay after our Okinawa trip was not until 4 days later. Htet-san, being so professional, patient and sympathetic, walked us through room options, extension at this Premier room we had booked, then for the rest of the stay, booking at other 4-bed room at a different wing of the hotel which was still very nice, and even gave us 10% discount by calling around and explaining our unforeseen situation!

Other members of the staff were as amazing too- while we were waiting in line for check-in, our kids were given welcome bags filled with kiddy slippers, toiletries and a small toy. And if you find a nautilus ( they call it "ammonite") pattern on one of the floor tiles in the hotel lobby area, you can get a toy prize! -which we did :)

Premier grand room stay comes with lounge access, the breakfast (also small bites in lieu of full dinner) there was excellent! The lounge was meticulously clean and very comfortable. Due to aforementioned unexpected extension, we moved from Premier grand to other 4-bed family room, which was a hit with kids, as they didn't need to share a bed anymore! Keio Plaza has some 4- or even 5-bed-per room options, if you are traveling with 2-3 kids, do search for it! Those seem to be booked months ahead.

Location is also hard to beat. It's in a very convenient but clean and quiet part of Shinjuku, right outside Tochomae station, and Tokyo metropolitan government building is just across the street, in which you can ride the elevator to the observation deck for free, for an awesome view of the city. It's also one of the hotel stops of the airport limousine bus to and from both Haneda and Narita airport. Although we did not use it, they even offer complimentary shuttle service to and from Tokyo Disneyland/Disney Sea.

I booked the room for one night at a relatively reasonable price because it was many months before the trip and was through Preferred Hotels program - extending on the spot due to emergency was surely more expensive, but we had truly wonderful family time, thanks to the incredible staff at this amazing hotel! To top it off, Htet -san even called a taxi for us when we checked out to move to our next hotel in Asakusa. Thank you so very much everyone at Keio Plaza!

Already came last year in September 2023, it is always a great pleasure to come to this hotel. The hotel is in a great location, not far from Shinjuku station. Staff who take care of you and are always available, and always have a smile. Several restaurants which are very very good, zen atmosphere decor. On the 11th floor there is a washing machine where you can also leave your laundry in a dedicated plastic bag, so that they can be washed (price mentioned on the sheets) in a drawer in the room. Kimono to be comfortable available in the room. There are 2 breakfast dining areas with plenty of choice. A few shops in the hotel lobby, a terminal with Pocket wifi available for rental. An ATM available in one of the hotel's shops. For your travel, taxis are available in front of the hotel. Really a superb place......This year we met Mr Kiyoe (the manager of the breakfast service in the Jurin room), as well as a young waitress (Melle Tsuzuku) who spoke French, it was was perfect. I recommend the Teppan-yaki restaurant "Yamanami" on the 7th floor of the hotel to taste gobé meat, Excellent :)
For this restaurant, I recommend the chef (Mr Jyunich Ikeda). Ask for the hotel membership card, it entitles you to discounts in all the hotel's restaurants, shops, etc.

I live along the Keio line, so I usually use this hotel for meetings and banquets, but I stay here once every few years to hold meetings and banquets.
First of all, it's located just a 5-minute walk from the west exit of Shinjuku Station using the moving walkway. I went there by car, and from the Shuto Expressway Shinjuku IC, I made one right turn and one left turn to arrive at the main entrance. I parked in the underground parking lot next to the entrance, and it was easy to get there from the highway exit.
On the way back, I went straight from the parking lot exit and entered Koshu Kaido immediately, which was convenient. There is a large parking lot in the middle of Shinjuku, and guests can park for 1,000 yen. It's a flat parking lot, so it's great that you can park large passenger cars and wagons.

I made a reservation through the banquet department, but I was given a single room in a double room. The furniture has changed since my last stay a few years ago, and I liked the couch chair where I could take a nap. The desk and closet were also well-built, as you would expect in a city hotel.
The amenities were also very good, compared to those of a business hotel, with toothbrushes being very good, and shampoos in mini bottles.

Only the bathroom is an older design, with a combined bath and toilet, and the shower is in the bathtub with a curtain drawn, so compared to the newer overseas hotel chains of today, the bathroom is a disappointment.

Overall, it's conveniently located, either by foot or car from the station, and the size and furniture are completely different from business hotels, being solid and spacious overall.

We arrived in Tokyo with our toddler and checked in to Keio Plaza quickly and helped to the room with our baggage. They provided a welcome pack for our young daughter that was a nice touch.

We found the staff to be exceptional friendly and always on hand to help. We had a lot of onward travel to different parts of Japan and the luggage forwarding service in the hotel lobby was fantastic.

For those looking to visit Tokyo Disney, there is a free shuttle bus that departs the hotel and drops off at Disney Land. We only stumbled up on this at the last minute and saved us a long subway trip!

The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring Shinjuku and Tokyo more widely. Nishi-Shinjuku station is a 5-minute walk away from the hotel and was our gateway for exploring Tokyo. There are multiple combinis near the hotel which are great as well so other restaurants and cafes.

The outdoor swimming pool is a great addition, especially for an inner-city hotel - our daughter loved the toddler swimming pool - the only thing to note is the tiles in the toddler pool are exceptionally slippery so you need to keep a close eye on little ones when in the pool.

We found the breakfast buffet well stocked over quite expensive (but this is par for the course for hotels generally and something we experienced in all of our hotels in Japan).

We would recommend this stay for families, the room we booked was large (although we all had to sleep in one bed together - 2 adults and a 3 y/o) which was a bit frustrating but manageable. We had a direct view of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building which illuminates with a lightshow/projection show each evening and was an amazing surprise to watch each evening.

We are not fans of huge (here 1400 room) impersonal hotels where the lobby is inevitably full of piles of luggage of arriving and departing guests with a short average length of stay. As this hotels go, the Keio Plaza is typical. Staff is friendly and helpful, but the scale of the place renders any personal service almost impossible. We stayed for two nights in a Club Level room on the 39th. floor of the main tower. The view was incredible, as was the view from the even higher 45th. floor club room. That room was also on a vast scale, although very well staffed, and required reservations for breakfast - presumably because of the large number entitled to eat the there. Staffed with many young Japanese the atmosphere was pleasant but the staff were remote, possibly because of the scale of the property and the somewhat reserved nature of their customs. The bedroom was clean and well equipped with amenities (apart from coffee and creamer for the in room coffee maker). The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet and could be blacked out. The bathroom was more than adequate and the shower was full force with a steady stream of water as hot as one could select and stand. The lavatory of course was the plush Japanese standard. Included breakfast was a vast buffet of Japanese and European/American selections with chefs ready and able to freshly prepare special dishes.

The hotel needs an urgent refresh. The worst was the quality of rooms. At best, it measures up to Motel 6 standard with small rooms, 48-inch wide double beds, and tiny bathrooms, which are inaccessible by a second person. The carpets look filthy. When I complained about the width size of the beds, I was told that there was nothing they could do unless I paid out a lot of money to upgrade.

Cleaning service was average at best with dirty coffee mugs not changed on 2 of the 4 days we stayed there.

Buffet breakfast was very good daily.

Location is very good.

Be aware of the poor quality of rooms when you choose this hotel, and don't expect any restitution if you complain. We found many other hotels with much better room quality in the Shinjuku area for less price.

It is a beautiful hotel very clean and good size rooms, the staff is extremely friendly, I recommend hiring the included breakfast is really very good and you can experience American or European breakfast but mixed with traditional Japanese which we thanked a lot. It is a few meters from the Metro and very close to the station to connect or take the JR trains.
It was a really good experience and we felt very warm kindness attention and quality at this hotel, we. made us feel welcome at home Japan and at home. thank you very much for your attention, we will definitely return to that hotel when we return to Tokyo.
