Hotel Gracery Shinjuku is frequently commended for its spotless premises and modern rooms, with guests particularly satisfied with the cleanliness and maintenance. While the hotel garners praise for its strategic location amidst Shinjuku's vibrant nightlife and attractions, families might take note of its proximity to the red light district. The compact yet functional rooms receive mixed reviews; their modern amenities are appreciated, but space constraints have been a concern for some.
Service is generally highlighted as efficient and professional, although not without a few hiccups. However, opinions on value suggest that room sizes may not fully justify the cost for some guests.

Detailed Reviews
The location is hard to beat, 5 minutes from Shinjuku station , surrounded by restaurants, close to stores and easy walking everywhere.
The hotel is modern, the in-house restaurants are ok,limited menus and the staff are very obliging and extremely helpful if you want to somewhere in particular.
On the downside the rooms are tiny,no drawers, no cupboards and ‘swinging a cat’ is impossible ,the deluxe double we got had the bed jammed against a wall and it’s not cheap

Dear Mr./Mrs. BarryJ_100 Thank you for staying with us and taking time to write such a wonderful comment about your stay in our hotel. Our hotel is located in Shinjuku Kabuki-cho which is one of the best place to visit in Tokyo. You can reach our hotel in 10-15 mins by walk from Shinjuku subway station. There are lots of restaurants and the shopping malls near by our hotel which I think is very convenient for our guests. The room size is of standard size in Tokyo but we provide with the spacious bathroom along with the Japanese style bath tub. We are looking forward to seeing you soon again. Best Regards,

I booked this hotel based on Booking.com recommendation and I CANNOT recommend this hotel enough. I have stayed in many 5 star luxury properties where so many things don’t work: the faucets, the lights are complicated, the outlets are not convenient. This hotel however has it all down to a system. The rooms, though small compared to normal rooms, are so smartly designed I want to live there full time if I could. The bathrooms/onsens had ample water pressure, the TV/outlets all worked and were convenient for charging, the light switches were well labeled and intuitive (you have no idea how many places overcomplicate the light switches). The best part of this hotel is it’s location, right in the heart of Shinjuku and right above a 7 Eleven (which is where most of the US Based ATMs actually work). And if there was an even better part of the experience was that the hotel is moderately priced for those who are on a budget for $100-200/night. The hotel does brisk business with tour groups so prepare for a busy lobby. But other than that, I would gladly stay here overtime I visit Tokyo; I just wish there were more hotels like this in all of the major cities!

Dear Mr. StevenTristanYoung Thank you for staying with us and leaving us this wonderful review. We are glad to know that you felt our rooms to be convenient. As you have mentioned, our rooms might not be very spacious but we are trying out best to make it comfortable. Out hotel is located in one of the busiest areas in Tokyo, so our guests can enjoy both the neighborhood and the entire Tokyo easily. Various convenience store, restaurants, and bars are nearby as long as the Shinjuku station. We are sorry about any inconvenience due to the busy lobby. We will do our best to greet and serve all our guests promptly. We hope to see you again in the near future. And more than anything, we hope you are safe and well in this pandemic situation. Best regards,

I honestly loved it. I stayed in a single room on the female only floor. The room was the size I expected in Japan, really clean, very nice looking and with a great view over the city, nice toilet, awesome wetroom shower & bathtub with very nice toiletries etc. While I would have preferred a wardrobe, the open concept with hangers still worked for me.
Location was fantastic to get around Shinjuku or use as a gateway to the rest of Tokyo, surrounded by restaurants and lots of shops including a short walk to Isetan department store. Really enjoyed the restaurants attached to the hotel incl the buffet breakfast but you had to plan ahead and not just rock up whenever you felt like it. Also appreciated the 7-11 on the bottom level of the building (so much pudding was had). There were vending machines on the floor my room was in which was great.
Check in and out was super fast and easy. The luggage sending service worked really well - total must for me when travelling in Japan. The staff at the taxi area took great care to ensure the driver understood where I was trying to go. Will be staying here again.

Dear. Mr./Ms. daniellgtr Thank you for staying with us and taking time to write this wonderful review. It is a great pleasure to get such a high evaluation from you. We provide spacious bathroom for our guests to relax after traveling all day. Our rooms might look smaller due to it. Your kind understanding is much appreciated. Our hotel is located in the heart of Shinjuku. Shinjuku station is nearby, and so as many restaurants, bars, and shops are. Along with the convenience store on the ground floor, we have put a vending machine and an ice machine on each floor. Your valuable comments will help us to improve our service. We are looking forward to see you again. Sincerely yours,

great spot to spend a couple of nights when exploring Tokyo. Convenient to transport, great food and some cool bars. While the rooms aren't large, they are well appointed with good amenities and a comfortable bed. The bathroom is the key for me...they are large enough and clean with good towels and amenities...I especially enjoy the Japanese way of bathing and these bathrooms are geared up for this with a great wet room. I'll be back.

Awesome location in the middle of the action.
The rooms are a decent size for Tokyo.
The beds are very hard, the type that make your arm go numb. Pillows are small and not overly comfortable.
Good toilet and bathroom.
The bar closes at 8.30pm which is kind of odd for a hotel of this size and price paid to stay here.
In the lounge area there are two power outlets which are taped up. I asked concierge where I could charge my phone and was advised there is nowhere in the lobby to do this.
REALLY! You can't charge your phone in a $400/night hotel lobby?
I will most likely stay here again but not before researching other options.

Dear Mr./Mrs. simonvinc Thank you for staying with us and taking time to write such a helpful review about your stay in our hotel. Our room are of standard size in Tokyo but we provide with the spacious bathroom with the Japanese style bath tub. In regarding to the bed we will take your opinion and we will try and work on it in future but it may take some time. In regarding to the pillows we have varieties of pillow available in the front desk which is mentioned in the information book placed inside the room. If you are planning to stay again in our hotel we will provide you with the pillow that you prefer. I am afraid about charging your phone at the 8th floor lobby due to some security reasons we usually do not allow our guest to charge at the 8th Floor but if you come to the front desk we help you to charge your phone. We are afraid that we were not able to help you in this case this time. We have one more restaurant at the first floor which is open until 23:30 and the last order is at 22:30. I recommend you to use this restaurant during your next stay. We are looking forward to seeing you soon again soon. We will try our best to make your next stay satisfying in our hotel. Best Regards,

We loved our stay at the Gracery Shinjuku.
The location is perfect, 5 mins from Shinjuku station so pretty much the whole of Tokyo is within easy reach. So many reviews on here warn about kabukicho I got a bit worried but we loved being in the middle of everything. There really is nowhere else like it. By day it’s like anywhere but at night it comes to life. We loved seeing this side of Tokyo, at no point did I feel threatened and no one tried to drag us off to seedy bars. Loads of great places to eat and drink nearby.
We had booked the Gracery mainly because it’s the ‘Godzilla’ hotel and we’re really disappointed the terrace is closed for the foreseeable future. Actually it had little impact on our stay. There’s a cool 5ft Godzilla with a cityscape just before the lobby which is great for photos and you still get a great view of the head from the lobby.
The lobby is spacious with high ceilings and feels classy. Check in and out is quick, if you sign up as a member (free) you can check in an hour early and out an hour later. The staff are wonderful, concierge helped us find a restaurant we saw on Instagram and pinned it in my Google maps, even checking first it was open and not too busy.
We chose a twin and we’re surprised how large the room was. Just about room for two open suitcases. Nice to have the loo and bath in difference rooms. The baths are deep and even turned themselves off when they’ve reached the optimum water level. Someone on here negatively reviewed the pillows saying they were made from beans. It’s actually buckwheat and is very common in Japan, been developed to aid sleep. That said, if it’s not your cup of tea, Japan being Japan has a solution to everything and if you flip the pillow over the other side is western style padding, really no issue.
They offer luggage sending which you really should take advantage of if travelling around Japan, we had ours sent to our next hotel in Kyoto and they arrived next day.
100% this was an amazing stay and I would recommend it to anyone without young children (imagery in surrounding area may not be appropriate).

The location is great, right in all the action and close to walk to the train station for connections all over the city. It was also easy to catch the JR Train and Monorail to the airport. We had a standard double room and it was the tiniest room we have ever stayed in - literally no room to leave your suitcase. We had to leave them in the entry and squeeze around. Anyway, we managed but it became a little frustrating so if they have bigger rooms I would suggest you book a larger one. Rooms were quite noisy at night due to the location in a lively area and close to the train station. Very clean and the staff very helpful.

Dear. Mr./Ms. travel-with-vanessa Thank you for staying with us. Out hotel is located in Shinjuku kabukicho area, close to the station and many restaurants and bars nearby. Shinjuku area is quite complex but if you stick to the east exit if will take less than 10 minutes to walk to our hotel. We apologize for not making your stay satisfying. It is very hard to provide spacious rooms since Shinjuku is a very busy area. Also, we provide relatively spacious bathroom for our guests to relax after a long day, and bedroom area tends to feel small due to it. Your kind understanding would be appreciated. We recommend comfort double or twin room for guests who need more space. We are deeply sorry for the noise also. It tends to be better on the rooms on higher floors, not facing train station. In your next visit, please feel free to ask us for it. Your valuable comments will help us to improve our service. We hope to serve you again. Best regards,

Loved this hotel! I wasn’t expecting a lot given I had struggled to find a hotel in Shinjuku that wasn’t either over 10k or a hostel.
On arrival (at 3am following flight delays) the lobby area I lovely and the staff were so helpful with our two tired kids (7&8).
The kids absolutely loved the Godzilla head which we visited daily (we hadn’t told them in advance) . It also helped when finding your way around as any local can always direct you back to Godzilla!
The breakfast was one of the best we had in Japan with a mix of authentic cuisine and European style so this was a hit with the family each morning.
The location of this hotel is just fab, you are right next to so many restrooms and attractions and the station is a 10 min walk which even my kids managed. I read the reviews about it being in the red light district but we didn’t really notice but we weren’t out past about 9pm so don’t worry about this if you are bringing kids
The rooms are really clean and we had great views of Tokyo from the 27th floor.
Very surprised to love this hotel!

+1
Reason 1 for staying here is the location. Reason 2 is for Godzilla. Reason 3 is they have triple rooms. We arrived late afternoon and service was quick, we were checked in and in our room within minutes. Japanese hotels are known for being small but the triple room was perfect for 3. The rooms were clean and the concierge was very helpful. The location was amazing especially if you really want to be immersed in the culture. Fun and Fabulous!!!

This was a last minute booking for me that turned out to be an excellent choice which resulted in me extending for a few days too. When booking this hotel I hadn't even realised this was a Godzilla themed hotel so to my surprise when I arrived and saw a Giant Godzilla head and saw that there was even an hourly small Godzilla show was great!
The location of this hotel is excellent for anyone who wants to be in the centre of Shinjuku and a very busy area. There are numerous restaurants and places to eat nearby and also a 7/11 and Lawsons downstairs. Its about a 5-10 mins walk from Shinjuku station.
The hotel lobby is situated on the 8th floor and you reach this from the ground floor lift which is the same building as the Toho Cinema or if coming from one of the main streets the building with the Giant Godzilla head on the outside! The hotel lobby was a nice space and was temporary relief from the busy area outside. It was very spacious and and had a library area and a cafe on the same floor along with a few Godzilla exhibits and also the entrance to the Godzilla head. There was frequently a large number of staff on the check in desks and they also had self check in counters which is a testament to how popular this hotel is. I had a few questions for the front desk throughout my stay but never had to wait too long to speak to someone and all staff I encountered spoke good English and Japanese.
In Japan hotel rooms are known to be quite small and this hotel is no exception. However I felt even though the room was small the design was excellent. They managed to fit in everything you need such as the double bed, a small sofa, coffee table. fridge, safe, areas to hang clothes, good sized TV, etc. I was even more impressed that the compact bathroom had not only a shower but also a bathtub! and of course a Japanese toilet. They certainly utilised all the space in this room.
There is a taxi queue downstairs on the ground floor outside and someone who can assist you with getting a taxi if needed. On the ground floor is where you will also find the breakfast restaurant and a number of other restaurants.
Tip on the hourly Godzilla Roar show, try to watch it in the evenings at 8PM from the street at night time where you have a much better view of everything!
If I was coming back to Tokyo and wanted to be in the heart of everything I wouldn't hesitate to book this reasonably priced hotel again, an unexpected stay that turned out excellent.
