We chose this hotel for it's location in Shinjuku which was great. It's above a local train station, and 500m from the JR Line to catch the shinkansen to Nagano for our ski trip. There were so many restaurants nearby. Our room on 18th floor with great views, private bathroom, fridge, toiletries and free wifi. We spent two nights in a standard room with double bed against the wall. I did not realise how tiny a 13sqm room is. No space for suitcase. We had 2 sets of skis and boots in our room because the reception told us there was no storage room. We took up their offer of not getting our room serviced to help the environment, to receive 500yen voucher to spend inhouse. Later we found it doesn't cover the cost of a cup of coffee (660yen) or glass of wine (850yen). We were charged 110yen for ice delivered to our room. We stayed at this hotel again the following week after our skiing. We were booked a standard room again and asked if it were possible to receive an upgrade to a bigger room. The reception wanted us to pay a lot more money for this. I think we were paying too much already and I thought being returning customers, that they might let us have a free upgrade. I read someone else's review who had received a free upgrade. I also noticed on our check in this time that some people were getting their ski bags out of storage. So this time at least we did not have to have them in our tiny room. The travel agent counter were very helpful booking our tour to Mt Fuji.

We stayed at this hotel in the renovated deluxe double room on level 24 and it was amazing. The room was large for Japanese standards, clean, bright and modern.
The location was great just a couple of minutes walk to the station. Staff were wonderful and helpful.
The only criticism we had was the breakfast, it was expensive and all the hot food was cold, cold dumplings, cold bacon, so we didn’t eat there for breakfast again. There wasn’t a good variety for breakfast either.

The location is at the heart of Shinjuku, next to the kabukicho area that means lots of bars and restaurants, if you like to explore the nightlife and stay at a busy area then you have found the right place!

I was assigned on the 21 floor facing the Skytree direction, from my room I could see the Godzilla head (Gracery Hotel) very clearly, the city view was spectacular but I could still hear the street noise and the train so if you are very sensitive to noise or need a quiet room to rest, stay away!!

The hotel is connected to the subway station but as you may know shinjuku station is massive, it took us 10-12 min to walk from the hotel to Narita Express! And sometimes I got lost finding the hotel exit (I could be stupid but not trying to making any excuses - the subway system is pretty complicated with all those different lines and train operators etc.)

My check in was seamless! The staff was nice and helpful! Housekeeping always arrive with the stuff I have requested for within 10 min! One thing worthwhile to mention is that they charge a late check out fee by the hour (2,000yen/hr), so normal check out is 11am, so I paid 8k yen more in order to check out at 3pm! Nothing to complain, rules are rules, sometimes it’s worth the extra bucks to stay couple hours longer!

You step out of the lobby and you are in the midst of the action in Shinjuku and all that it has to offer. Omoide Yokochou also known as "piss alley" is a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

The main JR station is farther than we would like but there are convenient subway stops that are close by.

My only beef with its location is that the main Shinjuku bus stop is 10-15 minutes away by taxi. So coming from the airport or Tokyo station with big luggages is inconvenient as your only logical choice is to take a cab to spare you the stress of slogging it through several subway stations.

We first booked the smallest room with two twins and its similar to the two other smallest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Once also in Tokyo and once in London. These are those ultra tiny rooms where there's absolutely no floor space to open your luggage.

I was somewhat OK with the tiny room but my gf wasn't so we upgraded. It came out to an extra $95 USD/day but the larger room was like 2x larger and much better. I'd say do the tiny room if you're on a really tight budget, are traveling alone and only staying for a short trip - or if you plan on spending as little time in your room as possible.

Otherwise the hotel is pretty good. It's not a luxury 4-star hotel, but maybe something like an older Marriott. Totally fine and comfortable (once we got the bigger one). Only thing I wish they could control is the halls smell like carpet cleaner. It seems like they can't open the windows or properly circulate outside air so the cleaner smell just kinda sits.

The location is great if you're looking for a lot of action, energy, and night-life. There's a ton of restaurants nearby. Kabukicho is basically the red-light district and party area and unlike other parts of Tokyo, you will find trash on the streets, probably mostly from tourists or drunk locals that forgot their manners. Other parts of Shinjuku are right around the corner and tons of great restaurants there too.

We didn't try the breakfast. We thought we'd try it at least once but there's just too many food options in Tokyo. Btw, there's a place directly across the street with these dishes of grilled fish with rice and miso. This is a type of traditional japanese breakfast. That place is really good. Their most popular is a mackerel and second is the salmon belly, we tried both. Really good, but I liked the mackerel a bit better. I think it converted to like $7 USD.

There's no gym on site and I did a lot of eating. I overheard the hotel staff recommend a gym nearby, but I found a kickboxing gym a 10 minute walk away, look for "muay thai hostel" on google maps - yeah you can sleep there too. Its 4000Y per day to train but its really more like one-on-one with a trainer, so its very reasonable for that. Really nice guys, no experience necessary. Also, there's a coin laundry right next to them so you can wash your clothes while you train.

I booked this hotel, which is slightly cheaper than the hotels at the west exit of Shinjuku Station, because I had a meeting and a social gathering at the hotel. If you think of Shinjuku Station as the starting point, I think this is the closest and most convenient hotel in Shinjuku.
I arrived around 11:00 and went to the front desk on the first basement floor to leave my bags, and they told me my room was ready and gave me a room key. I was a Prince Platinum guest, but I was upgraded from a standard double room to a deluxe king room, which is about twice the size. The front desk lady who handled the whole process was smiling and efficient. The room only had toothbrushes and shampoos in order to be environmentally friendly, so I was given a razor.
You need a room key to use the elevator.
The room was renovated with a plain wood design, and there was a washroom in the entrance hallway, a bathtub and toilet in the bathroom, and it was new and clean. The room had a long counter with a bench for luggage, a counter that doubles as a desk, a refrigerator, etc., and there were four coffee capsules and a Nespresso machine. There were two bottles of water for free, and two sets of cloth slippers, so everything you need was there.
The next morning, I had to leave early to play golf so unfortunately I couldn't have breakfast in the hotel restaurant, but I bought bread and juice at the 7-Eleven in front of the hotel.
The hotel is conveniently located, the front desk is spacious and functional with many staff members, and the renovated room was clean and I had a comfortable stay.
Entering the Subnade car park from the entrance next to the Prince Hotel, there is a gate and there is the hotel car park where you need to insert your parking ticket again. To leave, you need to insert your ticket at the hotel car park, go through the gate, and then insert your ticket again at the exit of the Subnade car park on the Shinjuku Ward Office side to leave. Note that in the morning you can only leave via the exit on the ward office side.

We booked the triple room for 3 adults to stay for 4 nights. Room was kind of small (normal for Japanese hotels) and sometimes only 1 person can walk through if luggage is open. However, we liked that shower/ bath and toilet is separate from sink area. Hotel tends to be on the older side but maintained well. Room is clean and comfortable.

Location of hotel is great with eateries and convenient stores nearby. There is also a department store located beside the hotel. Overall it is a good choice when choosing to stay in Shinjuku. Value for money and staff is friendly as well.

Special thanks to Mr IINO for helping us with the taxi for 3 persons and 3 luggages. Appreciated the help to translate and sincere assistance.

Stayed 3 nights as it is prepaid, couldn’t bother to change hotel. Interior is very jaded and old, it is a centralized heating hotel so it can get warm and stuffy with no way of adjusting it - the only option is a portable box device that does not help much. Woke up with very dry throat. They also got my booking mixed up and gave me a smaller room till I showed them the photo of what I have booked, then they gave me what I paid for - standard double. Location wise, it is incredible, but would rather pay for Hotel Gracery instead for a modern and newer property. Told them that I don’t want 13th floor but they told me, that’s the only option, coming from a hotel of low occupancy period. The service and security from level 1 staff is good and that earned them the Average rating instead of Poor. Could loan umbrella when it rains.

I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights with average rate @ around US$180 per night. I know it’s during Tokyo marathon so it may price up a bit. The most absurd thing is this hotel does NOT provide restaurant booking service with this room mate (come on i prepaid the room fee I won’t run away and I even offer to provide a credit card to facilitate this, which most other hotels do accept this in Japan). It’s truly amazing and even a US$60 rate biz budget hotel would be willing to help on this. Prince hotel is not a small and unknown brand in Japan and other parts of the world. But such policy is truly amazing and out of imagination. I suggest all overseas visitors NOT going to this hotel anymore. Well for Japanese visitor it’s ok given you speak Japanese

One word....Location. Smack in center of Kabukicho. I was a bit concerned about various reviews here.
Anyway, it was an enjoyable stay.
And the room was the right size for 3 people.
Housekeeping was very attentive answering our daily requests for clean towels.
Will I stay again at this hotel?
A big YES.
Concierge easily booked us airport service for a very early morning flight.
Check in was a breeze.

Answer from RTJC

Both will require some walking. In this case, it may be better with bus as you can take a short taxi ride to Shinjuku West Exit (ask the concierge staff to call and explain to taxi driver where you want to go). It may cost about 2,500 ~ 3,000 yen one way. Once at the station, it's very easy as the limousine bus staff will load the luggage for you.
