While the W Osaka shines with its prime location and unique, stylish atmosphere, some guests suggest that the hotel's value for money falls short, highlighting overcrowded breakfasts and lackluster ambiance. In contrast, the hotel's cleanliness and luxurious amenities, including a modern spa and exceptional food, receive high marks. Guests have called out the spacious and well-designed rooms for their comfort and city views. The service at W Osaka earns praise for staff professionalism and personalized care, although experiences do vary.

There are many luxury hotels in Osaka, yet this is one of the most balanced options.

While not as pricey as others, it has what one would expect from an upscale hotel. The rooms are spacious (by Japan standards), fancy and comfortable to stay in. The building, room and amenities (such as the room key and bathrobe) are well designed to be distinct among other W hotels. Sometimes W hotels can feel cheaper than other Luxury brands due to the materials being used, but everything here seems to be in high quality.

The biggest highlight is probably the amazing view in the corner rooms. If you can get one through room upgrade or certificates, that would be a lot of value. However, be aware that many loud vehicles would pass by on Midosuji in late night. It is not necessarily the fault of the hotel (perhaps rooms could be more soundproof), but that is a major source of noise at bedtime.

Breakfast here is among the best I have had in Japan, which comes with a lot of variety and high quality. Specifically, they were able to manage the large number of guests relatively well. I waited for about 5 minutes before getting a seat in their expanded breakfast area. The experience is similar during check-in (although I wish I had a seat while waiting). Perhaps not ideal, but definitely a lot better than other hotels, such as Mesm Tokyo with >1hr wait time.

My girlfriend and I recently drove down from Shiga to visit Osaka. We treated ourselves by staying at the W.

We were both amazed by the quality of the service in OhLaLa by Nicola and his team.

We also brought our dog, which the hotel staff helped accommodate. They really blew us away with our hospitality.

With so many hotels to choose in Osaka, it may feel overwhelming but given the location of the W, you can’t go wrong.

There are many things to do in the area and walking streets are full of fun shops and bars/restaurants.

We both can’t wait go back!

Amazing hotel in great location with cool vibes, funky lights and hip staff. We stayed on a “stay 5 pay 4” redemption rate, and successfully used our annual SNA to get upgraded to the mind blowing corner suite on the 21st floor with skyline views. Absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience

…which is not always the case for W hotels. However this one is a happy exception and it’s stunning inside and out. My room was one of the best-looking, most comfortable ones I have ever had the pleasure of staying in, with loads of awesome design features like the Osaka cartoons in the cupboards and the breakfast bar/desk but the window. Lovely bath and shower too. The swimming pool/spa floor is simply stunning, like a work of art. Truly, it’s an amazing place to unwind for a while. Breakfast is really good too and the location is ideal, plus it has helpful accommodating staff all over the hotel. All in all, a superb hotel.

I recently had an unfortunate and negative experience during my stay at W Osaka Hotel. One of the major reasons why I chose this hotel for our family vacation was its promising amenities, particularly the pool.

The denial of access to the pool for my child was a significant letdown, as it directly impacted our family's enjoyment and relaxation during our stay. We had specifically selected this hotel with the expectation that my child would have a fun and memorable time at the pool. To our dismay, we were informed of this policy only upon reaching the pool area, leaving us feeling misled and frustrated.

Adding to our negative experience was the demeanor of the duty manager. I found the duty manager to be cold, unresponsive, and seemingly disinterested in addressing our concerns. Their robotic and detached attitude was disheartening, as I had hoped for some empathy and understanding regarding our situation. Unfortunately, their lack of assistance only amplified our disappointment and left us feeling disregarded as guests.

I would strongly advise fellow travelers, especially those with kids, to stay away from W Osaka Hotel. Their lack of transparency about pool access for children and the unhelpful behavior of the duty manager make it a less than desirable choice for a family vacation. I expected more from a reputed hotel like W Osaka and this experience has left a lasting negative impression.

Dear SJLTravellerExpert, Greetings from W Osaka! I am very sorry to hear your disappointment about the fact that your child was unable to use the pool; I can confirm that to ensure that we are fully transparent with our guests, our pool policy is available in our official and third-party websites clearly mentioning that the access to the pool is allowed from 16 years old. I am very sorry that you felt that our staff did not deal with the situation appropriately. I hope we will have the opportunity to serve you again in the future. Kind regards, Anna Ferrara Director of Rooms

Stayed here for 3 nights while traveling with family. The hotel is located within mins from the busiest shopping area in Osaka. Lots of luxury brands around.

The breakfast buffet price is quite steep (4800 JPY per person) for those without Bonvoy privileges. The selections were great and service was good (as one would have expected at that price point), but I am not sure if I’d be willing to pay out of pocket daily for family when there are lots of restaurant choices nearby.

Upgraded to a large corner suite with Bonvoy certs and thoroughly enjoyed the space. Very spacious room and all the amenities were on point.

Did not get to try out the pool as it was for 16 yrs old and up and was traveling with kids.

Overall a great stay. This hotel definitely live up to the W standards.

The location of this hotel is spectacular! Walking distance from big brand names to Dotonbori to local restaurants - you could go anywhere within a 10-min walking distance.

The hotel staff are extremely accommodating - our fridge was unfortunately not working in our original room so they upgraded us to a slightly larger room which was much appreciated considering our luggage size.

From lobby space to room, if you’re looking for a hip, chic, and modern hotel - this is for you. Love the architecture and colors surrounding this hotel - bound to make you feel young and trendy.

The best part would definitely be the breakfast buffet, they have got a quite a spread - from Japanese food to the usual American style eggs Benedict. You also got a great spread of fruit, bread, and pastries to enjoy with a nice cup of cappuccino or matcha latte.

The breakfast buffet staff were so welcoming - special shout out to Nao and Sau for being so kind to us, even preparing us some takeout drinks for our day-trip to Miyajima.

It’s only been the first night/second day but so far so good - will update if anything changes!

W Osaka is a great experience for a traveler. Especially if it’s their first time in Osaka. The reason being it is in a great location. Also, the W is a familiar brand with most travelers and W Osaka showcases ‘affordable luxury’ with a hip flair to a tee.

With that said, our stay in May is our second stay in 6 months. The rooms are nice sized but there leaves something to be desired in the bathroom. It’s a bit small with only one basin. The shower in the basic and corner rooms are great though.

The staff here are top notch. I heard them speaking multiple languages as well. The cleanliness of this place is top notch as well.

Although I love this hotel, I believe there are better bang for your buck hotels in the area that I would try in the future. One other point is, the location seems to be close to an area where people like to race their cars? It’s like really loud at night. People revving their cars while driving by.

If you want a safe, familiar brand, visit the W Osaka.

We had an enjoyable stay at the W Osaka. Our family shared a Wonderful room on level 21. Rooms here are much larger than the typical Japanese hotel room.

The space is designed efficiently with the bathroom by the entrance. Storage is neatly tucked away behind doors with a lovely Roblox type wall decoration. One of the highlights was probably the bar counter with the skyline view.

I liked the wooden access cards. Water was provided in aluminium cans. The service team here is very cool, and will not be overly friendly, which suits the vibe of this hotel.

Location wise, it’s not particularly close to the trains, but we like it because it allows us to enjoy the city.

If there’s a W hotel that represents the brand best, I think this might be it.
