Mercure Nagoya Cypress is conveniently located in the city center, just a short walk from Nagoya railway station (bullet train). The hotel features 115 confortable rooms, 2 restaurants, a bar and conference facilities for up to 100 delegates. The Nagoya Congress Centre, Citizens Auditorium and Nagoya Dome are also nearby.
No wifi available. Rooms are too small. Amount paid for the breakfast at the hotel is not worth it.

Sofitel hotel in Nagoya is in prime location, but the service and facilities were not very good. Some of the hotel staffs were not so friendly as well, the breakfast were not good and lack of variety. The hotel rate were not match with the performance.

This is the third time that I stayed at this hotel. The location is convenient, just a short walk from Nayoya JR Station. The front desk staff are courteous and helpful. They can speak English. The room is not too small, with Japanese standard, with a sizeable bathroom. The bed is comfortable too. Overall, it was pleasant stay. I will definitely stay here again whenenver I come to Nagoya.

A great location for those arriving in Nagoya by train. Literally a 5 minute walk from the main Nagoya station exit. The train station itself has a large adjoining shopping centre with one floor devoted to restaurants. Being by the train station does mean that it is a little out of the way of central Nagoya, but of course the subway system is easily accessible. It was easy to check in with the staff being friendly and speaking passable English. Our room was a good size by Japanese standards and with modern decor. The bathroom looked newly renovated and was to a very good standard. No complaints at all about the room which was spotlessly clean. Beds were comfortable and the hotel quiet. We didn't eat a the restaurant or drink at the bar. This was perhaps the only negative of our…

My husband and I stayed at the Sofitel Cypress hotel for 2 nights. We were in town for a sumo tournament, and needed a place to stay with convenient access to public transportation. Sofitel was very close to the station, which worked perfectly for us. But the area was strangely quiet, and we had some difficulties finding a good spot for dinner with an english menu (my husband is allergic to seafood, so being able to understand the menu was very important for us). The room reminded me of a budget hotel. I wasn't impressed, especially given the rate we were paying. The bed was quite hard and uncomfortable. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but we found that the bakery section of the department store at the station had an eat-in cafe area that was perfect! The baked…

Stayed at the Nagoya Sofitel because we were looking for a hotel with easy access to Nagoya Station. Sofitel was a great choice because it was about 5 minutes walk from Nagoya Station. Service and rooms were ok, nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about either...

This was a business segment of a larger trip; otherwise we might have missed Nagoya (which is a nice city). The Sofitel had a very nice staff, who were always exceptionally helpful. The furniture in the rooms could use an upgrade in my opinion, although my partner did not feel that was an issue. The furniture wasn't obviously old in any way, but the style was looking tired. (There were a few small circles in the carpet where they must have cut out some stained spots, and replaced it.) Everything was perfectly clean of course. The bed was comfortable, with new linen, and the room was pleasantly warm (we are both often cold), with an easily adjustable thermostat. Our visit was in a cold snap in December. Although there was a couple with kids next door, we never heard them at all.…

Great location very close to Nagoya station, extremely polite and helpful staff who took us to the lift each time with a very deep bow! The room was beautifully equipped (we got an upgrade) and breakfast was excellent. The staff went out of their way to prepare something for my partner who has a gluten intolerance. Very highly recommended, one of the best hotels i've stayed in ages (and this from someone who travels 15 weeks a year).
