Perfect location, walking distance from Nagoya station. We arrived early and front desk checked us is immediately. We had our suitcase send over from the airport and when it did not arrive at the stayed time, the staff contacted the shipping company to reassure us. When it arrived later in the evening they even brought it up to our room. Bed was comfortable, but but standard small japanese size. Recommend to book two beds if you're not alone. Room was spotless clean. Enjoyed our stay.

It's not the latest hotel in Nagoya. In fact, the hotel looks and feels old. But the staff was super helpful and being close to Nagoya station is helpful. Rooms are of decent size and priced well. Not much else.

Location is good but it lack facilities and lounge for Platinum member use. Staff were friendly and room well kept each day though. Nearby eateries not as interesting except for an Izakaya Ameba at level 3 in the building before Mercure from the station. Walk towards Toyoko Inn and you will find many interesting eateries. Family Mart, Lawson and 7 Eleven are nearby.

My husband and I spent one night at the Mercure Nagoya before taking a train to Takayama. Check-in was smooth and pleasant. We received two free drink coupons which we enjoyed at the upscale hotel restaurant. We ordered the tempura prix fixe meal for about $17.50 each. The tempura was beautifully presented and delicious along with miso soup, sashami, rice, and salad finishing with a yummy plum cake with pecan ice cream. The rooms were small but clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The toilet also functioned as a bidet. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style and cost around $21 each. We thought that was a little pricey but the quality of food was very good and featured many choices of American and Japanese breakfast cuisine. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at Mercure Nagoya Cypress.

I stayed in Mercure with varies city in Asia, for example, Tokyo, Okinawa, Pattaya, etc, before this one in Nagoya although I’m not a big fan of Mercure. This Mercure Nagoya is to let me back to 15 or 20 years ago, not the interior decorative arrangement only. The staffs and the room facilities are out-dated. Firstly, there had two staffs in the Front Desk and they’re talking with each one when I passed though the entrance of hotel with a local family. The auntie was doing enquiry at Front Office by one staff but no one did the check-in for me as another staff just stood behind his colleague. No one asked air approached me unless I went to the counter by myself. This was not the Japanese hospitality. When I back to the hotel after the late dinner (it was almost 11:30pm), the main entrance was closed and needed to use the side door by calling the door bell at outdoor. Apart from the late door policy, the room was clean but outdated with tired, for example, 20” thick LCD. Nagoya is quite a different style with Tokyo or Osaka. There have some high-rise buildings near JR station but this hotel look like in the parallel world of Japan.

We booked for 3 nights but stayed only one. This is not a Mercure standard hotel and as a platinum Accor member have stayed in many around the world. No pleasant greetings or welcome by staff on arrival or departure. Did not feel valued. The hotel is old, the room, even though a ‘non smoking room’ smelt of smoke and created an uncomfortable environment. We did receive our free drink voucher and the choice was good. There was no welcome amenity in the room and only 1 bottle of water in the room. The breakfast was almost inedible. Very poor quality. This hotel has really let the Accor brand down.

Only one night, but a complimentary welcome drink, a good night's sleep, a wake-up call and a good location were all that I needed. I was completely satisfied. What more can I say? 200 words. 200 words.

The check in service was excellent as we were able to put our cases in the room ahead of the official check in time. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was quite large by Japanese standards for a reasonable price. A nice touch was the free drinks voucher for a drink in the hotel bar, which was a really nice setting if not a little unpopular. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special.

This is the 4th hotel stay in our travels around Japan and so far bottom of list. Positive: very close to the station. The room was clean. Bed comfortable. Reception team very helpful and always smiling. Negative: tired looking reception area. Bedroom very small, tired looking, needed updating. Breakfast area needs a bit updating. Bathroom old school. If you are looking for a fresh hotel, I wouldn’t advise staying here, if you are just looking for a bed near the station and not worried about anything else then stay here.
