Detailed Reviews
Excellent staff! I liked the extra living room. Spacious. Dining room (where breakfast is served) is airy and bright. The only thing is that the rooms can be somewhat dark due to its location. Lobby is spacious as well. I enjoyed my stay there thoroughly. The only thing that I can suggest is to place the hand sanitizer visibly on a table at the buffet area where everyone can see and then use for hygiene, and provide teaspoons. The large spoon seems to be a serving spoon; too large to fit comfortably in the mouth.

The room was spacious as well as the bathroom. We stayed in the dluxe twin room. The beds are very comfortable, and there is a sliding door between the sofa/desk n beds, making it feel like a small lounge and a bedroom. There are two TVs, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom.
The location is great, close to Dongmen MRT station, with many good restaurants, cafes, shops, and night markets nearby.
Breakfast is good. There is a washer and a dryer available to use, free of charge.
We could hear the traffic noise from our room. It was not loud enough to disturb our sleep, but it was not very quiet.

Excellent hotel with spacious rooms and very comfortable king size bed. The bathroom is also large with tub and shower.
Breakfast in the morning is very "Asian" but nothing is missing
The price is very interesting not to mention the location.
It is 300 meters from Dongmen subway station, on the red line
I highly recommend it

Staff are very friendly, helpful and accomodating. The rooms are clean, huge and bed comfortable plus the bathroom/toilet equipped with everything that you need and expect for a 3-4 star hotel. The location is great, walking distance to many restaurants, markets and the Mrt station. It is also a walking distance to the famous CKS Memorial Hall. The breakfast is ok with limited choices and if you love trying local dishes, it will surely satisfy. Overall, our 6 nights stay there is enjoyable.

We stayed here two nights in October before heading south for a wedding. We used this as our base to see Taipei. Other reviewers are correct, it's not close to a metro station but cabs are dirt cheap and the hotel will go overboard to help you get anywhere you want! They'll tell the cab driver exactly where to take you. Just be sure to grab a few cards to hand to the driver on the way back!
The staff was good enough at English to be reasonably well understood, although they weren't perfectly fluent. We didn't have any problems communicating. The room was new, clean and relatively quiet. The service here and almost everywhere we went in Taipei was incredible. They go out of their way to help you, and they seem to genuinely want to do so! A lot of American businesses should send their people to Taipei for a few days just to see true customer service!
The breakfast wasn't the best, but it was OK. There weren't a lot of western breakfast foods to choose from, but you can make a meal of it. If you enjoy the Asian style breakfast you will like it a lot more.
All in all, we were quite pleased with this find, all thanks to other Trip Advisor reviews. The price was very low for the quality of room and level of service. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
If you find this review helpful, please say so! I get thousands of my reviews read, but hardly ever does anyone acknowledge that they were helpful. It would be nice to know!

Finally got around to comment on the trip my wife and I took in July. No need to repeat what most other reviewer were raving about, essentially attentive service and comfortable, smartly furnished rooms with fast internet outlet and two TVs at a reasonable price.
The "value" proposition is not that important for business travelers whose employers pick up the tab. They would more than likely be staying at some 4/5 star places on the east side. Instead, this hotel is great for leisure travelers, for whom I have some counter points to two major complaints on Tripadvisor about this hotel: location and breakfast. I just want to share that, if you want to get the most out of a leisure trip to Taipei, neither is an issue. First, location. One of the best things about Taipei, it's the cheap and comfortable taxis. It's true that this hotel is a good 15 minutes walk to the closest MRT station. Just get the front desk to write down your destination for you and flag down a cab. One block up Jinshan South Road is the on-ramp of an elevated expressway that quickly ferry you to most places in the city, especially on the north side. Or just spare about $3 dollars to get to a nearby MRT station.
A 15 minutes walk south (or again a mere $3 taxi fare, just yell "Yong-kong Chieh" to the driver) and you are in a major food heaven (Yong-kong Street area) featuring many locally famous small restaurants. That also includes the original shop of the internationally acclaimed Din-Tai-Fong chain.
So that addressed the second complaints - breakfast. The breakfast buffet is far from sumptuous. I suspect it's simply the matter of keeping the cost down. But this is Taipei, so fussing about the breakfast buffet in the hotel is just laughable. There are too many good and cheap foods in the city to save your stomach for. The breakfast room is very nice and airy though. So sit down to get an egg made if you are that hungry, have some fruit and coffee and head out to find real food!
Taipei is probably the most underrated major Asian city for tourists. It's super easy to get-around, and has great food. In a way this hotel is strong on the most essential stuff, and leave the rest to the city.

When I stayed at this hotel about six months ago, it was ranked no. 7 out of all Taipei hotels and now it jumps to no.3. I think it may rank even higher (after some more good reviews including mine)!
For services and room decoration, amenities and breakfast, this hotel is of 5 star no doubt. The room is spacious. Bathroom has large shower area as well as a bath tube. The linens and bed sheets are of high quality, soft and comfortble. They provide two sets of pillows - one is soft and one is a bit hard - to fit customers own preferences.
Wi-Fi is provided at room and lobby. If you didn't bring your own computer, you can use the one provided "inside" the breakfast room which is just behind the egg station (a bit strange actually). And you don't need to register or ask to use those computers. They are just there for you to use.
One morning when I went down to breakfast and the seats are all occupied, a staff politely asked me to wait at the lobby but I wanted to wait at my room and requested him to phone me when seats are available. And he did it in a very good way. Hm, service!!
For the breakfast, the food is one of the best I have ever tried. They have the ordinary ham, bacon, eggs, pastries, salad, bread, juice and milk. They also have the hot dishes which are decently made(!!). Since they have some regular Japanese guests, some Japanese food, mainly cold dishes, are also provided. AND the breakfast changes DAILY!!
Because the dining area is small (as this is a small hotel), you don't need to stand next to the egg station to wait for the chef to cook the eggs for you. You can just order - if the chef is not there, ask any other staff to make/reserve the eggs for you.
Location-wise, it is bad. The nearest MTR station is 15 mins on foot. By taxi it is cheap of around NT$100 (US$4). And there is NOTHING around the hotel. However, it can be termed as quite close to the Yong Kang Street/Area where tiny restaurants, local food stalls, boutiques, drink stations are all there.
To go to the Yong Kang street, exit the hotel door and turn left. All the way down for 3-5 mins until you reach a busy road. Cross the road and turn left again. Keep on walking for 2-3 mins and keep an eye on your right when you see some hustling people and shops in a not-so-big road, walk into it and you are in the so-called Yong Kang Area. If you go there at night you will find yourself walking on the driveway as the pavement is very narrow. But don't worry Taiwanese drivers are very patient and careful.

Checked into the Royal Biz Hotel for 6 nights. They organised a car from the airport for NT$1400, which was handy after a long flight from London. Staff at the check in desk were friendly and efficient, and the hotel room on the 7th floor was extremely clean, large and comfortable. The rain shower is excellent, and the TV featured some western news channels. The view was rubbish - just looking over the backs of other nearby appartment blocks. The single lift could be an annoyance if the hotel was busy. But the room was peaceful (no noisy guests) and the free wifi was fast to start with, slowing to a crawl by the end of the week.
The Royal Biz is a 10 minute walk away from the nearest MRT station (feels longer in the mid-summer heat). Taipei has a 7-11 for essential supplies on every street corner. Breakfast was nice, if unspectacular, with a live egg-cooking station and a range of Western and Taiwanese foods. Walking distance (10-15 minutes) to the Shida Night Market and Chiang Kai-Chek memorial hall, use the MRT to get everywhere else (30 minute journey time to get to the International Convention Centre). Get an EasyPass on the MRT, which can also be used on the bus to avoid language issues with the driver! $1000 for a trip back to the airport by taxi.
Overall I'd recommend this to the business traveller, but the sticky walk to the MRT might put some people off.

I love this hotel! I just back from my stay there from February 24 to 27. I booked this hotel directly from their website more than a month ago and was given an upgrade to a 1-bedroom suite. The room was comfortable enough for a small family. I was expecting a mediocre breakfast since it was just a small hotel but I was pleasantly surprised that the spread was good enough. The best point about this hotel is the staff. They were very courteous, professional and always smiling. I know that the distance from the nearest train station is a turn off for some people, but the charm of this hotel makes up for such shortcoming. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel offers warm service and attentive staff.
You will be assured of a good night sleep here!
Although this hotel is not located in the city centre, it is quiet and far from the madding crowd.
The prices are fair and reasonable and the rooms are spacious and cosy.
It is not filled with lots of cackling tourists from tour buses so this is a big plus point!

Dear Sir,
There are two ways to get to our hotel from Taoyuan international airport, 1. you can take bus at the airport to Taipei main railroad station, it takes about 45mins to an hour, it will cost you around $200 TWD 2. By taxi straight to our hotel, cost about $1100 TWD.
hope this would be helpful to you and look forward to see you soon.
best regards
