Our accommodation has been designed with quality and comfort in mind. Since opening in February 2005 all of our guests have been impressed by the quality of our accommodation. Our cottages are equipped with air-conditioning and a fan and each cottage overlooks Sogod Bay, just a few metres from the shore.Similarly, the resort staff have all been hand picked to ensure that our guests feel welcome and our restaurant serves a variety of cuisines.Last, but certainly not least, the Sogod Bay Scuba Resort is at the forefront of a number of environmental initiatives designed to maintain and enhance the local dive environment. Specifically, our resort is the sole sponsor of four recently established marine sanctuaries, three of which are within either walking distance or a ten minute boat ride of the resort.

This resort was recommended by a diver photographer couple who keep coming back— for good reason.

The two sisters who run the place: Annalyn and Reia are outstanding. Annalyn communicates at all hours of the day and night to book your accommodation and book your transfers, etc. Reia takes your meal orders. They are both warm and friendly as are the owners snd rest of the staff.

Accommodation is simple but cozy. The rooms which are close to the restaurant and beach are more expensive and older than the larger and newer units a two minute walk away. I preferred the latter. WIFI is free and good.

The food is very good with lots of vegetarian options. In fact, there is even a veggie menu.

Padre Burgos Pier night dive is a must do as often as possible. (Offered 3 times a week.) I was diving by myself and a minimum of four are required to see farther flung places, so I dived close to the house reef. This has been damaged by Typhoon Odette a year ago but Phil (the Australian owner) is working on regrowing it. It’s still a dive with lots of fish. Dave is a patient snd good divemaster.

Rental equipment is in good condition and they stock large size wet suits and booties.

A few times a month they offer all day whale shark trips. Spotters (local fishermen) paddle out in a bay around two hours from the resort to find the whalesharks. Then you fin like mad to keep up with these beautiful creatures.

I very much enjoyed my stay at this resort.

6th stay at Sogod Bay Scuba Resort and I still love it just as much.
The welcome is wonderful and you feel like you staying with friends.
Several types of accommodation (all very comfortable and very clean) are offered at very attractive prices.
The food offered at their own restaurant is excellent with good portions and a large choice of dishes.
About diving, I have never been disappointed.
Everything is well organize at Sogod Bay Scuba Resort.
Bay of Sogod offers beautiful dives that can satisfy all types of divers.
Several very good Muck dive sites and many incredible wall/drop-off rich in fauna and flora.
SBSR is one of my favorite place in the Philippines and that's the reason why I'm coming back every year.

The resort is not the easiest place to access - ferry from either Bohol or Cebu or flight from Manila with 4 hour road transfer - but the visit is well worth the effort, with excellent and varied diving and a comfortable resort, with friendly and efficient staff, awaiting you.

For diving, there is a purpose built diving banqa that accesses dive sites on both sides of Sogod Bay and Limisawa Island and reveals a varied array of wildlife from pygmy seahorses to whale sharks on muck and reef dive sites and, if it’s there to be seen, the excellent local dive guides will find it for you. I take my own gear with me but the resort hire equipment is first class and all levels of (PADI) instruction are available from the resident instructor, Pedro.

The accommodation is comfortable, with some being immediately shoreside and other rooms set back from the beach and the restaurant serves up a varied local and western menu, with daily specials available.

I am a BSAC Advanced Diver/Advanced Instructor, with ca 2,700 dives and have visited Sogod Bay Scuba Resort about 8 times and, like General MacArthur, I shall return - it’s just so good, with a high proportion of the clientele being “returns”.

I had an excellent experience at Sogod Bay Scuba resort when I visited in Jan 2020. Amazing staff, the diving is world class and overall the quality of the service is second to none. I would highly recommend a stay at SBSR for solo/couples as well as groups. Thanks Phil and the team for a great stay and I will definitely return!

I am an underwater photographer and visited Sogod Bay Scuba Resort again in January. I have dived at many places around the World and Sogod Bay Scuba Resort is my favorite place to come back to. The diving there is fantastic and varied: some of the best wall/reef diving anywhere plus lots of macro/muck subjects. Also lots of turtles, whalesharks and we often get to see dolphins while crossing the bay. As good as the diving is, the people are what really makes the place special for me. The staff at Sogod Bay Scuba resort are friendly, warm, hard-working and fun loving! The resort itself is just steps from the water with clean comfortable rooms and fantastic views. The restaurant is also fantastic with a large menu and reasonable prices. It takes some travel to get there, but it is well worth it as the diving is not crowded and the locale not over-tourist-ed. I look forward to visiting there again soon!

Everyone pulls together with great humour and efficiency. They have a stake in this small and well run outfit and it shows. Dive guides are knowledgeable and able and boat crew proactive and helpful. A stunning location with good variety of dive sites and critters to see and photo. Food is varied and good, a mix of Filipino and Western. It’s a quiet place and the main restaurant area shuts at 9 but that’s OK by me. Early to bed early to rise when diving, well done Phil, Pedro, Darleen, David, Gregorio, Raya, Luna, Annelin, Michelle, Nino,Punoy and Aman, I hope to be back

I have had two vacations at Sogod Bay Scuba Resort and am working on my third. It is becoming an annual pilgrimage.

Great location, awesome scuba diving and the service is fantastic both above and below the water and you are treated as family and friends.

Not the easiest place to get to but well worth the effort.

What can I say! This is one of the most welcoming DIVE resorts around. The owners are present every day, and often join dives. Food is great and the staff very nice. Diving is relaxed, safe and well organized, with a great variety of dive sites, all the way from stunning reefs with a LOT of fish to black sand diving. No crowds, you and your group will probably never meet another diver when diving. Furthermore, the resort is doing a lot of reef restoration work, and sometimes organizes broken coral transplantation with guests. So if you haven’t already been there, go!

Quite possibly one of the most beautiful places on earth, coupled with an excellent restaurant, a gorgeous hotel, clean room with all the amenities and friendly and attentive staff. The service is top tier, the view of the ocean, and the mountains on the other side is breathtaking. If you are thinking of coming to see for yourself, I highly recommend it.

Also, you don’t need to be able to dive to go out to see the whale sharks, everybody was snorkeling. And wetsuits are included. It is a once in a lifetime experience I highly recommend it.
