Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Brand tier wise - the DoubleTree brand fits into a mid-tier cosy type as compared to what you would normally expect at the group’s luxury brands like Conrad. BUT, I say this in uppercase, this particular property’s service beats that of the group’s luxury brands in other countries. Particularly, the front desk team comprising of Angel, Joyce, Debbie, Winnie, James, Nunu have all made our stay feel so special and so at home.
Locally, I’ve stayed at three different properties throughout the past 10 nights and my biggest regret is that they weren’t all with DoubleTree.
The hotel’s location is fantastic. It’s a 5 min walk to Zhongshan Metro where you can access Taipei Main Station, Q square, etc.
Breakfast is refreshingly clean-food instead of the usual oil drenched processed meats.
Property is very new, modern chic design, decent room space.
Can’t wait to come home for my next stay.

James, the duty manager is really kind & warmness, he cares about all the needs I just request , thanks for further needs accomplish.
At Double Tree Taipei, every staff are so sincerity, front desk, room keeper and the staff in restaurant are all friendly , they are really warm with a smile all the time, although I request a further quilt at the midnight , all staff care about what I fell all the time.
The room are large in Double Tree Taipei, is really seldom in Taipei downtown , which only takes 15 minutes from the Railway station, and three department store arounded ,Some of room may have a view of Taipei 101 Sky line. The decorations in the guest room are fashion and texture, and all rooms are within bathtub, and TOTO washlet, all bathroom equipment are High-class.
Is a nice stay with Double Tree Taipei, recommend to everyone planning to get a journey in Taipei.

I have been waiting on Hilton to start their chain in Taiwan... and it’s finally here! Located within 5 mins walk to Zhongshan MRT, 15 mins walk to Taipei Main Station where you can take MRT, HSR, train and buses. We had to take a TWD100 cab ride to get there after checkout - lugging 2 huge luggage was just not practical. Nonetheless, hotel is well positioned and you can find all sorts of food nearby. We had 2 hotpot meals in consecutive nights in different hotpot shops close by (Wulao Guo and Qing Hua Jiao). There is also a Gaoji just right next door. Did I mention there is a department store right at Zhongshan MRT? We found authentic Taiwanese cuisine (Shin Yeh) at 8th floor of this department store. Ningxia Night Market is about 15 mins walk away too. We even discovered a great Omakase restaurant (山秋）nearby!Plenty to do just roaming in the neighbourhood. Enough of food, this is a hotel review after all. Room is tastefully decorated, and as always Hilton’s signature comfortable bed. Best of all, their unique bathroom design enable a panoramic view of Taipei’s skyline while you taking a bath in the bathtub! Love this view and the room. I will be back. :-)

I spent a lot of time researching the Hilton and Marriott hotels in the area to determine the best one to stay at. Settled on this one after reading numerous reviews about Diamond members being upgraded...unfortunately that wasn’t the case here. No executive lounge but breakfast is offered on the second floor which is pretty good, although not much change day to day. Was pretty disappointed when I saw our view (see picture). No room upgrades offered...we definitely weren’t even given a corner room, let alone a higher floor room with a view. No welcome email prior to arrival to help arrange transportation like I’ve seen with other hotels.
Hotel elevator is broken and down to one working one. And the room while aesthetically pleasing offers very little privacy when traveling as a couple. The toilet stall and shower are next to each other with fogged glass (pic attached) and the tub is next to giant clear glass to the bed area. Maybe the suites are set up with more privacy. 😔
The staff is friendly, the fitness center is closed for Coronavirus fears but they arranged for me to use it. The top advantage of this hotel is it’s location to the MRT. However if you’re looking to get treated like a Diamond member, this hotel isn’t it.

Stayed there from 1/5/2020 - 1/8/2020 Check in was smooth. Sharon offered the warm cookies right away. Although would have liked to decline them as I don't eat sweets. Room is modern, clean with sleek design. Good size and very comfortable mattresses. The glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom needs getting used to, but the blind works well. Love the free mini bar with Sapporo, Coke, Iced green teas and multiple bottles of water. Of course the nespresso machine was the best! Very convenient location to metro and good night market. Would definitely return.

This hotel is a great place to stay. We had a group of 20+ people and the staff was very accommodating for us. They spoke both English and mandarin which helped out a lot. The place is also centrally located which means you can walk to many places very easily. There is a self laundromat within 2 minutes but the staff can also dry clean which I found super helpful. The cleaning staff constantly refill bottled water in your room but the front desk will also hand it out if you need. They provide umbrellas for use if you’re going out and will even hold your luggage for you.
Overall this place is a rare find and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have an easy time in Taiwan. Only downside was the fitness gym was kind of small but there are other places to go if you really need a crazy workout.

This stay was family trip in Taiwan for 6 days. The hotel exceeded expectations and we have traveled a fair amount of places to judge . First the front desk attendants speak English and are very welcoming. We had a King suite which was perfect because it’s essentially a 2 bedroom for family. The walk in closet is the largest I’ve seen and was able to use it as a dressing room which made it easier than taking clothes into the bathroom to change. The room was very high tech with master light switches and air conditioning control for each room. The bathroom had a smart toilet for those who know how to use it but it was user friendly if u just wanted manual flush like home. The shower was always hot and also large with handrail for safety. The room did not have a microwave but it did have a refrigerator stocked with complimentary water, soda and tea. You also had the option to make hot coffee or tea in the room but the service for Breakfast is so good , I went right for the coffee at breakfast . Can’t say enough about the attention to details like providing water every day and replenishing towels and toiletries. There is a robot service also that brought ice for us. They make recommendations and reservations at restaurants. However the hotel also has a good selection of foods to choose from. Most of all the location of the hotel is within walking distance of the subway and bus stations and plenty of restaurants and shops to choose from. A bonus was that we kept our luggage after checkout for a late flight The staff is professional and friendly speaking to us every time we walked past . Highly recommended a stay here especially for Americans .

We recently stayed at the DoubleTree in Taipei for a portion of our Taiwan Honeymoon experience, right from the beginning, communication with the hotel was easy and pleasant. Upon arrival, the room that was arranged for us was absolutely stunning, large bathroom/tub with ample of counter space for makeup/toiletries. The breakfast was a semi buffet with Western or Chinese options brought to you and if desired, more could be requested. The location for this hotel was great, block away from Zhongshan Station, convenient access to all of Taipei's attractions.
The staff at this property was unparalleled, we dealt with many associates during our 3 night stay and all of them went above and beyond to assist us, whether with directions/cabs/metro/attractions. Teresa was especially highlight during our stay, she was such a huge help during our stay and we wanted to applaud her for her above and beyond service.

Good solid new-ish hotel with good price range. The hotel is a bit away from subway and major sightseeing attractions but offers great value for the price. Also if you are flying into Songshan one of the better places to stay. Room is clean and fairly well designed and spacious. Not as big for a family but good enough for 2 adults
