Detailed Reviews
Stayed in Dec 2023 for 4 nights and we totally love our stay! The toiletries are available for us to take at lobby, and there is a coin operated laundry at the Lobby level as well. Free coffee and tea at lobby with nice sofas and nice views of Ximending. Housekeeping once every 2 days, but new towels/coffee/teabags/water will be provided daily.
Conveniently located in Ximending yet not too crowded. Short walk of 5min to Ximen MRT, and there are buses right in front of hotel!
Small gym at lobby level as well.

The location is very good, near to subway Station and right at Ximending area. Lots to eat and look at.
The rooms are a little small, maybe this is a Japanese chain so they have smaller rooms, in line with Japanese standards. It's fine for a single person, two may be a little tight.
The bathtub is also smaller than usual, even so for a petite Asian.
I like the fact they have an option to help you order the famous Taiwanese goodies and pick up to front desk. Not sure if it is same price or slightly more expensive than the official stores, I am just glad that there is this service which saves me time gift shopping.
The breakfast is alright with selection of Asian and western.
The front desk was efficient but not very smiley.
Overall it was a good stay.

Conveniently located in heart of Ximending area. Lots of activities and pop up shops over the weekends. A stone's throw to shops, eateries and massage shops in the area.
Possible to walk from the Taipei Main Station, about 10-15mins walk. Take Airport express into city which ends at Taipei Main Station and walk to the hotel. Faster to walk from Taipei Main Station, as compared to changing lines to the Ximen station on the blue line.
Brand new hotel, rooms are decently furnished and of acceptable size. Room size is reasonable for single traveller, a little on the small side for two pax. Only one proper chair and another stool with no back rest. Separate toilet and bathing area.
Electrical sockets come with multi type sockets, should accept most plugs. In-room Safe is quite small. Barely large enough to place a small laptop inside. They only clean the room on alternate days for environmental friendliness reasons.

I have stayed in the hotel for a week, generally I enjoyed my stay. This hotel has all the necessary amenities, I practically love the locker room and the laundromat. The room is large, very clean. The hotel is located in the heart of the busy ximending area, perfect for ppl who love the hustle and bustle. It’s a bit of a walk to the nearest MRT station which is my only complaint about the location. I found the front desk staff a bit cold and uncaring, I have a group of 7 ppl, when check in, I asked if I can have someone help us move our 11 pieces of luggage’s to the rooms, I was told they can lend me a cart but I need to move it myself … I have never experienced a hotel anywhere in the world ask guests to push the luggage cart themselves, definitely not a very welcoming gesture.

The hotel is nice and clean but service staff need more help as they can’t handle simple requests. The senior staff at front desk don’t do much this junior staff are left along handling hotel guests.
Requested for make up room at a specific time and leaving behind messages the night before, the morning itself due to important Concall in the room. The front desk did not communicate well with the housekeeping.
Overall, it’s a clean hotel expected from Solaria brand but service standard here in Taipei is behind other cities.

Hotel is clean and nice. Located within walking distance to the Metro and Bus Stop. There is pantry area filled with bottled drinks, water dispensers, coffee machine and tea bags provided at the hotel lobby where guests can enjoy and hotel does allow guests to bring in their night market’s food to consume in the lobby!

I just got to the hotel today and I politely asked for early check and all I got was a firm NO! It was pouring rain outside and I had arrived at the lobby soaking wet but no sympathy whatsoever. Every hotel I stayed at so far on my trip, including in Japan, was at least trying to accommodate, but not thisa Solaria in Taipei. I may cancel and look for something else nearby because there is no way I can sit in the lobby for 3 hours in my soaking wet clothes. Customer service seriously lacking at this hotel.

Thank you for choosing Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Taipei Ximen for your stay here in Taipei city, and further more appreciation on your comment sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to know that we seems to have a different understanding on the situation. Since there were not any clean room available at your arrival, we were ready to arrange a room for you once the cleaning were done, which would also require a payment as early check-in fee. Such fee has been what we charge to not only you, but every guests who requested an early check-in. Yet, despite you declined the offer, we still gave you the room 30 minutes earlier than normal check-in time. We greatly appreciate guests leaving comments providing us directions for future improvements, we will always examine the problems stated and search for methods to improve and provide better service to guests visiting in the future.

Very cozy, human oriented, comfy. Room is spacious, clean, nice pillows.
Great location; just next to Ximen walking street.
All excellent except the breakfast.
Too Japanese style….well, if have some more hot food like bacons, hush browns then could be perfect.

Good hotel. GREAT LOCATION. Right in the heart of shopping and food. The train station is one block away. The front desk staff were patient and very helpful. They also spoke perfect English. The room itself was clean and a decent size. I would stay here again.

Clean, elegant hotel in a convenient location at a very reasonable price! Highly recommended. We only stayed for two nights, which was too short, but will be back in future. Service at the hotel is also great.
