Santa Teresa as a town isn’t that charming, but the beaches are nice. The hostel gave a a very nice stay with relaxed vibes. The staff, especially the cleaning ladies, are very nice and competent - the owner asked us how we were doing. it takes about 1 minut to go from the hostel to the beach. If you are to stay in Santa Teresa, Costa del Sol is a very nice place.
They provide some small soaps for the bathroom - I suggest bringing your own soap. They only provide 4 rolls of toilet paper, may need to buy some. No shampoo or condition and no hair dryer. Kitchen is nice but pots, pans and silverware are low quality. Need to bring everything for the kitchen including salt, pepper, sugar/sweetener, ground coffee for coffee maker. The refrigerator does make plenty of ice so that's a plus. There is a stacked washer/dryer but bring detergent or buy it there. There are bath towels but if you want beach towels, bring your own.
this was our first trip to Costa Rica and I was concerned about he resort and location. My concerns were dispelled as soon as we arrived. the complex has a 24 hour gated security with Mr. Ronnie in charge. We stayed in unit 14 which was modern, up to date and had every thing we needed. it was clear that the owners have taken great care in the furnishings and the décor. There is a king bed in the master and two twins in the other bedroom. The complex has a great pool with a mandatory 4 pm cocktail party. The resort is between two beaches and I urge you to travel north and south to explore the different towns and beaches. English is spoken, but most people speak Spanish. Fantastic unit, fantastic location.
Need I say more? We were unable to go because no rooms were available in a reasonable location at a reasonable price. Avoid this business like the plague if you actually want to go on your vacation. We booked months in advance.
We were spending New Year’s Eve abroad and our trip got cancelled. We decided to splurge on a nice local beach condo. We chose CASA DEL SOL because we had visited before on a day trip and it seemed to have everything we needed. However, it was a terrible experience. We stayed in unit 2. Unit was not clean: pots and pans were dirty, bathrooms were extremely dusty and the couches in the living room smelled. We booked 7 nights and literally only got 2 toilet paper rolls and 2 miniature soaps for 4 people. Not even coffee or a small shampoo bottle. We had constant issues with cable TV and internet, connection was not stable. Dylana, the admin, was kind, but had no solution for us. Worst part was the smell. The whole placed reeked. It was impossible to use the pool, balcony (or terrace) and outside common areas due to foul holding tank or black water odors. We reported it every single day and it was never fixed. This really ruined our vacation for us as the pool and a nice bbq outside was definitely out of the question. Loved the beach and the surrounding area, just chose a different accommodation.…
The view, the sunsets , breathtaking !! The property comes complete with cat and monkeys and the cutest little foxes, beautiful blue magpies. It was serene ( other then the howler monkeys once in a while) and the caretakers very friendly and helpful. Very close to an amazing beach called Sugar beach. The house is small and has a ladder leading up to the bathroom which got us into shape quickly after few nightly bathroom visits downstairs. We loved it!
My family and I (4 adults) spent a week in Costa Rica, two nights of which were at Casa del Sol. We are flexible travelers, and are typically the type to favor "budget" lodging over resort-style stays. For our beach lodging, however, we decided to splurge, and ended up booking a villa at Casa del Sol. We had first booked a villa through AirBnB, and were informed by the host the week prior to our trip that were would be no Air Conditioning in our reserved space. We cancelled the booking, and switched to another similar villa through Booking.com. As I mentioned before, we are a flexible bunch--but arriving at the villa, I felt as though the quality of the suite had been dramatically misrepresented. Though "nice" at first appearance, the villa showed significant signs of wear. The furniture was cheap and uncomfortable, so much so that you could not sit on the pull-out couch because of how much you would sink! We also discovered that all the windows in the villa did not lock, and could be easily opened from the outside. Management was notified and came to resolve the issue, but upon returning we found that the windows could still be opened from outside. Especially since there are not many surrounding amenities (food, stores, etc.), it did not provide the haven we had hoped for. I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere where you can get more bang for your buck.…
I would not recommend anyone to stay at this property. We arrived to an unlocked unit after being given the run around for 45 minutes over where the keys were at checkin. We found, wet towels, dirty beds, drug residue and more. We had to find other accomodations at the last minute because we were concerned if the security of the unit and staff was adequate. Please save yourself this frustration and book elsewhere.
We were in unit 8. It did not have the best location. It's comfortable not luxurious. Dish washer had roaches that really put me off. The jacuzzi was not working. We did not really like the playo portereo beach which is 5 minutes distance from this condo. The other beaches like playo conchal were much better.Kitchen was well equipped but toaster was bad quality. Long story I would not stay here if I visited the next time. I would book myself in a resort.
We spend four nights at this lovely rental. It was about 700 steps from the beach. I used my Fitbit to calculate this. The beach was beautiful. It was not very crowded and very few Americans were on the beach. We enjoyed watching the sunset every night on the beach and swimming every day in the water. The condominium complex also had a lovely pool. Our unit had everything that we needed for a fabulous beach vacation. It even had beach chairs and an umbrella in the storage room. The kitchen was large and well stocked. The condominium unit was well decorated and the beds were very comfortable. We also enjoyed having a washing machine and dryer in the unit. I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone. The highlight was that there was a family of monkeys living in a tree on the way to the beach. …
