So this was my first ever solo travel to a beach and so I wanted to stay in a place where I could just chill and basically do nothing. I did some online searches for my accommodation and there was a lot of choices out there. But when I saw some photos of Besaga, it was just love at first sight! I knew right then that that's the place I wanted to stay. The only hesitation I had at first was the price because it's a little bit more on the expensive side compared to my other options. But I told myself I'd splurge a bit on my accommodation because I wanted to make my first solo beach travel extra special. And boy, did I make the right decision! It was, in fact, the best decision I've made during my stay! I got everything that I paid for, and more! Let me tell you why. 1. The Location. The property is located in the northern end of the beach which makes it the perfect place if you wanted a more peaceful stay (well Port Barton is quiet in general but it's even more peaceful here). Their restaurant and some of their cottages are also right in front of the beach. What's not to love in waking up and eating in front of a wonderful view? 2. The Food. The food in general is great. They offer free breakfast, which is awesome! And their meals come in huge servings too. They have a wide range of meals and beverages. My favorites were Honey Garlic Chicken and Pork BBQ! I didn't get to try any of their seafoods because I don't eat seafoods but I heard those were some of their best sellers. The only thing I wish they have is a Filipino-version of spaghetti. I'm a Filipino, I love spaghetti, and I like it sweet. LOL. But other than that, all the food that I've tried are delicious. 3. The Staff. Every single one of their staff are nice, especially Julie. Julie is the easiest to approach because she's always smiling and very accommodating. All of them are always ready to attend to your needs. Sometimes it may take a while to call their attention when they're at the front desk, but don't take it against them as sometimes it becomes too hot to stand outside. But they're all nice and approachable. 4. Tours. They have island/reef hopping tours which you could arrange at the front desk. I had so much fun when I went on an island hopping tour with other guests primarily because of the guides, Dondon and Arthur, are the funniest and coolest people you'll ever meet. The tour usually has 4-5 stops. But because we left on time and none of us have a flight to catch, the guides added 3 stops to our tour without an additional price. Also, the tour comes with free lunch and you'll be back to Port Barton at around 5PM which is in time to change clothes and wait for the sunset. 5. The Sunset. Speaking of the sunset, it's the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. Not gonna say more. You just have to see that on your own. 6. Last but not the least, The Owners. Ma'am Emily, the owner, and her daughter, Ma'am Cyndy, who is also the General Manager, are the nicest people I've met in Port Barton. The way they accommodate the guests is hospitality at its finest. Every single day since my first day, both of them would make sure to greet me and see if I was having a great time. They would also go out of their way to meet your needs as much as they could. And they do it happily! They genuinely wanted to make sure that you're having the best experience. It was definitely a pleasure meeting them! Thank you po!!! I've already said a lot but I feel like I still haven't said enough. LOL. There's just so many good things to say. Overall, Port Barton turned out to be everything I have ever dreamed of. And I was so glad and thankful to have witnessed the beauty of Port Barton through my place at Besaga. Peace and love :) <3 …
