Comfortable hotel located right on the beach of beautiful port barton. Rooms were basic and clean however they were a little rundown and could definitely do with being refurbished and repainted. Free breakfast included was great and the hotel are able to organise transportation, island tours and also hiring of scooters.

What brought this down to a 4 star for us was the attitude of two specific members of staff. I would like to mention that not all of the staff were rude. The lady who checked us in was extremely slow in her conversation and often looked at us as though we’d asked for the world if we asked for our breakfast token. The worst for us was when we asked for our room to be cleaned (a simple and normal task to request in a hotel) and the cleaner physically growled at us!

However, on our final night we had an extremely disruptive neighbour who at the sold age of 16 thought it was okay to play knock a door run on his own (very bizzare) and the other lady who was on reception was extremely helpful in making sure we moved rooms immediately.

If we had to be in port barton again then we could consider coming back however would jump at the chance.

My wife and I visit Palawan annually - this was our fourth time staying here. The entire staff is world class and extremely friendly. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!!! It's like home away from home!! :)

Our cottage was incredibly clean. The service was amazing - we took a boating trip and forgot to lock our door, leaving money and our passports inside. When we returned later in the evening, the room service had made up our room and locked our door for us.

As for the price, it cannot be beaten. There is incredible value to be found here. There is a beautiful view of the beach right outside the building. The property is very quiet.

The only downside to this place is the fact that Port Barton doesn't have 24-hour electricity.

We highly recommend this place to all travelers to Port Barton.

Seafront location (choose one of the four cottages in the garden) only meters from the beach, Large clean rooms, good bathroom and nice terrace overviewing the sea. Professional and friendly staff, good food and reasonably priced. Arrange boat-trips, transportation and fix practical details. Probably no. 1 place to stay at Port Barton.

First off I paid 2,000 pesos for a beachfront bumgalow. It was not a beachfront....it was a garden view or even call it a sea view (just). The beach is about 15-20 metres away so to call it beach front is not correct.

There are 900 peso rooms and 2,000 peso bungalows. This later price is on the high side for Port Barton. I am going to compare any room for 2,000 pesos with the excellent and so, so comfortable La Luna in Vigan.....with a full on buffet breakfast. No counting of bread slices.

The bungalow is fine and a decent size. But big issue for me was there was no hot water. I just do not like a cold shower after I get out of a warm bed or before I go out in the evening. The water system seemingly was being replaced.....so was there a reduction in the rate? Heck no.
To the manager....you do not charge full rate when you do not offer a full promised service(s).

Breakfast is a mean affair with a very set and calculated offering. One of this half of that anything else is an extra.

I was actually charged for my bread to be toasted...or was this for the single extra slice of that awful thin sliced packaged stuff they call bread Why do they not get a delivery from the local bakery just around the corner?

The bar ran out of limes and so the cocktail I wanted for a sun downer was off. The shop in the next street had bowls of limes.....so why did someone not run around? As somone who ran/runs his own business(s) I cannot understand this lack of foresight.

WiFi is weak and really only by the bar.

I intended to stay 2 nights but moved after one to Ausan.....far better .....and cheaper! I really did expect more.

The rooms and grounds are very nice looking. The staff has some bad apples in customer service and general social interactions. They do not tell you ahead of time there is no air conditioning in the rooms. The one fan barely does anything and if you ask for an extra fan they will tell you "no" immediately. They will confidently tell you they have electricity but will avoid telling you its only for 6 hours a day. They will confidently tell you they have wifi although it barely works and they do not understand the concept of reseting the box. I am allergic to spicy food and they told me it was no problem to make my meal with no spice, I got the meal and there was a native pepper in it which I accidentally bit into. Felt like razor blades inside my mouth. I asked to check out for a full refund and was still charged half of a night stay even though i was only there long enough to eat. Oh yeah they also smile and quickly tell you they have hot water.... there is no hot water.... very cold water. I ate the bill and glady left to stay at the Ausan. The Ausan was much better. No complaints at the Ausan

we stayed with the whole family for a week at the summer homes beach resort and it was simply amazing.
they have a wonderful garden directly connected to the white beach (with a great beach volleyball field) and turquoise sea.
the food is very nice - especially the burger sandwich with homemade bread is highly recommended :)
the staff is very helpful and assists you with every request you might have.
the balance between relaxing and activities is perfect and i definately would stay there again.

Summer homes was one of the best places we stayed in in the Philippines. Yes, the rooms are very basic, but when you have such an amazing garden and view, what are you doing inside the room?
The rooms are located on a large grass area, which has nice chairs and lay on in front of the amazing beach view. You go down exactly 4 steps and you are on the white sanded beach. There is a bar conveniently located on the patio, and the food is really good. The rooms are clean and cosy, and the place has electricity most of the day (much more than the rest of the village has it.) the wifi is good and the location is great.
The place has an amazing ambiance, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who arrives at Port Barton- from backpackers to families.

We stayed at Summer Homes as a stop off for one night only, but we would definitely return & stay for longer. We found the staff very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were spacious, very clean & comfortable. It's in a great location on the beach - the beach isn't a swimming beach, but it's lined with boats that will take you out on amazing day trips. The food & service was excellent, & there's a nice grassy alfresco area overlooking the beach, which is was a great spot to chill out.. definitely recommended as a top spot to stay in Port Barton.

All around great stay. It is an excellent location right on the beach. The sunsets each night were magic.
The included breakfast is awesome (mango pancakes were the best I’ve had in my 6 weeks in the Philippines)

Really enjoyed my stay. It was a homey and happy stay. Thank you to all the fantastic staff. Keep up the great work!
