A truly wonderful resort hotel and perfect oasis of class amongst the humble surroundings outside the island. We had a fantastic time here. I’ve stayed at many 5 star resorts across the world and this experience was up there with the best although quite individual. Awesome customer service and the best staff possible who genuinely can’t be happier to serve you and provide the best. The grounds and rooms are superb if a little philippino in term of the finsih. E.g wonderful gardens, pool (we had a private pool in the room) views decor fantastic but then the tap is a little wobbly, the aircon remote was missing the hair drier socket sometimes worked, menu in the restaurant never changed. Charges were super low apart from the massages which were around 8 times the cost of the local town and in the week we were there I never saw it used. The bar and beach area were truly beautiful with views amongst the best in the world. Overall we had one of the best stays of our lives and I would t hesitate to recommend to anyone. I’ll mention again the staff who were wonderful . We tried the canyoneering which was incredible but didn’t book through the hotel. Remember to tip the guide he gets very little of the charge which is pretty low anyway. Beware the local tour operators, trikes and cabs. They offer you each others services and often charge a premium, now I expect a little bit of margin adding but it can be 4 or 5 times the real price which is ludicrous. But this is talking about outside the resort and not a reflection on them.

Everything was the best from rooms well maintain, the food being quite impressive and the staff was lovely always smiling. It is also very accessible for some tours like snorkeling, Kawasan canyoneering, waterfalls, and also Oslob, whale shark watching. The staff was very helpful when in terms of booking your car transfers, inquiring and giving all the information for the tours.

I didn’t even know where to start with this review because I wanted to give my heartfelt gratitude to this resort and most importantly its’ wonderful, incredibly magical staff. I stayed in this resort for almost two weeks and absolutely fell in love with the tranquility and peacefulness. I’ve been traveling now for leisure for about a year and always make a point to stay in five star resorts given I am a solo woman travelled and this resort didn’t disappoint. I will definitely be back! +staff was incredible and made you feel welcomed everyday, always with a smile and a happy attitude (restaurant staff were so knowledgeable and flexible with special dietary requests; Jiezel, Marielle, Gil, Onyx, Khezy, Gleiza, Sean, Clifford, Honey Mae, Rona, I am sure I’ve forgotten many names so sorry if you’re not on here… Front desk staff: Ariel and team were always super responsive to all inquiries and requests… Housekeeping: Alfred mosquito proofed my room with all his might :-)) +if you’re looking for peace and quiet, this resort is super tranquil… you’ll see many birds, indigenous beautiful lizards, exotic flowers and plants… go for a kayak or paddle board around the island and you will see thru the clear blue waters plenty of sea life (colorful starfish, seashells, fish, tons of sea urchin, etc.) +food is SPECTACULAR and like I said their restaurant will accommodate your special dietary needs +the outdoor spa is the most tranquil and comfy environment… you can hear the ocean, the birds, the sound of the trees responding to the kisses of the warmth of the wind… May Rae (?) was one of the best masseuse that has ever massaged me and I get weekly massages everywhere I’ve traveled the past year. +the room was very authentically Filipino which I appreciated. I like experiencing true cultures and feeling like I am really in the country that I am visiting. My villa room had its own salt water pool overlooking the ocean and it was spectacular! One suggestion is to fix the gym soon but I am not knocking it because it was destroyed during the typhoon and the staff said they’re rebuilding it… not even a big deal because it forced me to do more outdoor activities like swim, kayak and paddle board!

I went with family to Badian Island Wellness Resort with family. I didn't expect a modern room since I know this resort has been built since 1980s. However, I didn't expect to wake up with red rashes and allergies on my legs which were caused by bug bites. Even today, the bites haven't subsided yet even after taking allergy medicine daily. Secondly, the bathroom needs an actual door (not shell curtains) and covers on the windows - people can actually see you showering since the bathroom is all glass. We had to ask housekeeping to put up a temporary bedsheet cover over the shell curtain to have some privacy. Thirdly, cabinets need to be updated, you can see termite eaten cabinet moldings which should've been replaced. Ants are everywhere in the room and bathroom... Room was clean but old and creaky, I couldn't get a good night's sleep since every time someone goes to the bathroom you can feel the entire floor vibrating from the footsteps. If you are looking for a secluded resort where you go to other islands for snorkeling and diving activities, then maybe this could be a good base for you. Other than that, there is nothing to do at the resort, many areas are closed for renovation. Restaurant food is very expensive - although I understand there will be added costs since all ingredients are transported to and from the island. For the pros: The view is very beautiful. Calm waters amidst a backdrop of green mountains is a welcoming site during sunrise. Pool is big and clean, gardens are well maintained - although I actually saw a snake crossing the pathway while I was walking and it was scary for me since it is a very long green snake. Poisonous or not I don't know. There is Thalasso Waterfalls for you to dip in every day but subject to schedule and availability. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the people in the resort are very nice and accommodating. I'm looking forward to a major renovation of this resort.

Hi Daphen76, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. As the resort is situated on a tropical island, we remind our guests not to leave the doors & windows open for too long and use the abaca fiber screen to prevent bugs & insects from entering the room. Our Badian Suite & Pool Villa is preferably for honeymooners & couples who love the romantic vibe of the room. I trust our newly renovated Family Suite will be a perfect fit for you and there would be an actual door for the bathroom. Just to share here are the following activities that are available on the island • Beach volleyball • Frisbee • Table tennis • Darts • Table soccer • Chess • Bicycle • Snorkeling • Kayaking • Paddle boat • Stand-up paddle • Aqua cycle Our reception can also arrange various tours & excursion which is only available on the south coast of Cebu like Canyoneering, Whaleshark watching & Sardine run Staying on a tropical island has its perks & drawbacks. One thing you never find in an ordinary hotel is the ultimate privacy of what the Island has to offer. The beautiful scenery of both the sea and mountain range, birds chirping at the balcony, and a hermit crab crossing the pathway. I trust you have noticed the renovation being done at the property during your stay and hopefully we can finish this renovation in the 1st quarter of 2023 despite the intensive damage from typhoon Odette. We look forward to seeing you again soon and hearing all about your new experiences to further improve our services & facilities.

My boyfriend and I spent 6 glorious days on Badian Island. The Island boasts views of mountains, the sea and local fishing farms. The staff were warm and welcoming. They helped us with booking guides for local tours. It was a very convenient location for visiting moalboal, Kawasan falls and oslob. The spa was perfect after a long day of exploring Cebu! Highly recommend.

If you’re looking for a peaceful and happy place Badian Island Wellness Resort is the place to be. Upon arrival at the port, there will be a young lady holding a beautiful flower, that smells so good with smiling eyes. The reception area was cozy with different designs of woods and shell lights. The rooms were spacious, and the tobacco design on the ceiling was unique. The staff is friendly and easy to be with they are sweet people that give great services. The foods were amazing and it suits our tastes. Overall experience was fun and relaxing.

This is a top rated experience and more than a stay. The place is a true eco place. You feel.that nature is not touched. The owners are philanthropist and they do a lot of work to support the local.community. The team.is brilliant. Zain was one step ahead always..we also met David the commercial head who told us about the philosophy and tru drive of this place which is to give life to the region and preserve the culture. The room overlooking our private pool, the Sea and the mountains was breathtaking. The food was fantastic as well as the cultural eventing with the local.school kids

We are a family of 5 and stayed in pool villa room no. 50. Pool is salty. There was a time their water in the faucet is not clean. During our stay, there was also an incident that the cold faucet was not working, only the hot water was working and it took an hour for them to fix it.

Response from David Cinco, Other at Badian Island Wellness Resort

Dear darkpurple08, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Indeed, the Pool in your room is salty. That is the reason why the name of the room is called “Thalasso Pool Villa”. Just to share, the water in the pool comes from the ocean which enters a series of filter that provides a lot of health benefits. We sincerely apologize that you have experienced an isolated plumbing issue during your stay. While you and your family were taking dinner at the restaurant, our maintenance team resolved the issue immediately taking them forty minutes. We still hope you and your family had a great experience and enjoyed the tropical scenery of the island. Cheers David

Absolutely loved my stay here. It was amazing. We had the whole beach to ourselves. The food was spectacular; they have their own organic garden. We had our own private dinner by the beach. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to any needs you might have. The snorkeling was really beautiful, so many beautiful fish and corals. It truly was an amazing experience. I hope to come back again one day.
