Detailed Reviews
We did a pit stop for a coffee and ended up having the best and authentic Moroccan lunch. The host and his family are warm and welcoming, and provided us with a super vegetarian cous cous, local nuts and fruits, served on the beautiful terrace eith a view on the oasis and the Ziz river. The location is stunning, a must-have pit stop in the Ziz valley. Thank you for this unexpected experience!

It's a quiet place. We were well received. If you like authenticity and simplicity this place is for you. Special mention for breakfast, it's the only place where we had fresh orange juice and nutella. The children were delighted. Thank you for your welcome.

Great location on the way to the desert with amazing surroundings (Ziz Canyon). The Riad is very nice; the room cozy and comfortable and the food amazing!
The hosts are super nice and welcoming. It was an absolute pleasure to spend our overnight stay at this beautiful family's place. Highly recommended!

Pros:
The location was great because it meant we could make a strategic stop on our road to the desert. It is also located in a canyon on the atlas mountains, with incredible views, great surroundings and very very peaceful. There is not plenty to do there but I guess that is the objective. The house is local-made, very picturesque, with long carpets and an immediate cosy feeling upon entrance. The room and bathroom was clean and very acceptable, with nets for the bugs during the night. It has air-con that really saved us.
Cons:
This is an acceptable accommodation but has a long way to go. I'm not talking about the hotel itself or the rooms or doors, walls or mattresses. I'm referring to the hospitality and attentiveness towards the guest. No one spoke english or french for that mater, it was very difficult to get the message through. Even with google translator it was difficult. We had a scorpion on the premisses, very close by our dinner table, and even the alert was difficult pass through. We felt we were kind of a burden. At dinner, the food was average and the bread was very old, more so at breakfast since it was the same bread. And I'm just alerting to these details because all of this was paid as a considerable supplement.

Nice, cozy local place, amazing food. At first the price of 5-6 euro per dish seemed too much for us, but we got a salad with our food, plus a big bottle of water, plus a plate of fruit! And real local bread, best we've tried in Marocco! And we got a welcome tea when we arrived)

We stayed at Ismail's gite for one night on our way to the Sahara desert. Location is breathtaking. Ismail and his family are the nicest hosts! we enjoyed every second there. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious.

Everyone stops by here is either on his way to desert or coming back from it. They made a smart (and very lucky) decision to stay here instead at Midelet where everyone else stops over. You are lucky because unexpectedly this place will be the highlight of your trip- not the desert Fez or the famous Squares of Marrekesh. It’s because of the beautiful spirt of the owner and his family and this little village which is not touristic. This is the real morocco you came to see. On top of it the food is the best I had in this trip !! The owners sister who is also very kind and beautiful made the most amazing fresh home cooked meals. I had wonderful time walking around meeting village people and playing with children. My only regret is not spending more time. I will definitely be back. Also you can travel here via public transportation (bus or shared taxi) - very easy and cheap. You can contact them via WhatsApp.

Great stay at Luna Del Fuego. It is on the way to/from Erg Chebbi so very convenient. It is also in a nice quiet and beautiful location. Nestled among the palm trees and right in the valley. Great views. Air conditioning is another 5 Euro which you would need during the summer. Hosts were kind and accommodating. Great walk through the ruins, oasis, and Berber village.

Very nice hotel in the center of the gorges, with a very nice view. Ismael was very welcoming, we had an awesome night with all of the boys from the village at the fire playing card tricks. The day after Ismael brought us to the hot springs/hammam traditionals. Nice room, good food. They were very nice people !!! We recommand!

The guest house is located in Ifri about 300M in from the main highway in a tranquil setting. It overlooks the surrounding palmateria, river and mountains. The guest house is Berber style simple with a main sitting area for relaxation with a wood stove. Meals are served in the large dining area. Breakfast is most often served outside in the early morning sunshine. The bedrooms do not have air conditioning or heat. The shower had hot water. Ibrahim is a good host concerned that everything is working and the guests are enjoying themselves. Ibrahim led the tour of a small olive processing place just 100M away. A mule is used to grind the olives into paste before pressing the olive oil out. Interesting to see. Ibrahim also told us about a good hike in the canyon the house stands beside. You have the option of climbing the mountain or threading your way through the canyon for 3-4 hours. Stayed two nights....thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Thanks Ibrahim.
