The 24-hectare coral island, located on the Southeastern tip of Cebu, is home to Bluewater Sumilon. Pristine white sand beaches abound. Its sandbar is known for its changing shapes and shifting locations around the island, depending on the season. There is a natural lagoon teeming with high mangroves. On the south side, a lighthouse rests on a protected tree park and a "Baluarte", a 19th century historical watchtower. It is also home to the Philippines' first marine sanctuary. At Bluewater Sumilon, let the islander's easy-going friendliness shine through and keep the pace low-key enough to let you feel pampered.

Amazing views everywhere on the island. Rooms were really clean , spacious and all ocean view. The bathroom was gigantic, modern with natural lighting from the huge sky lights. Wifi and A/C was flawless. The main restaurant serving breakfast and dinner had great ambiance.

Nice rooms, beautiful nature. But: Service here is not in line with what you pay. Unmotivated staff (except for William - salamat!), no flexibility, trip to the whalesharks is combined with 1.5 hours waiting time to get back to the island. Sand bar is not what you expect from the pictures - flooded most of the time and a lot of visitor boats - and some garbage, which is a shame. A San Mig light costs 219 Pesos - in a store you pay 40. Room Service did not even make the bed. Management should probably improve the working conditions here.

Great place for holiday. If you plan to transport from Cebu, must make sure you have 4 hrs up and ready for a bumpy road trip. We saw lots of day tour guests, but were separated from the guests who stay in the resort. The beach in front of the house was great to snorkeling, food was good but expected better, we paied extra for the lunch and the price was reasonable. The lagoon is smaller than expected. But the trails and the island itself were great to explore. And the pool was the best place to enjoy.

Went here for a day trip. Paid 2000php per person for a day pass, arranged directly with the resort. It included 800php food per person. Avoid booking through third party sites - you’ll pay fees on top. It was a perfect day. Drinks and food were good. Great service. We paid for someone to do a guided snorkel in the sand bar area (250php) which was worth it. We brought our own snorkel gear and snorkeled on the other side of the island ourselves (no sand, rocky in that area.) The sand bar is a Public area so gets a bit crowded and is dependent on the tide Overall you can’t go wrong with a relaxing day trip to this resort!

We took one of the clifftop villas, as that seemed better with kids. It comes with a very large bathroom (incl bath) which was great. There are some good options on the island - walk to the sandbar or the lighthouse, paddle kayaks in the lagoon, etc. The weather was lousy the days we stayed sadly, but they can't help that. I chose this resort to be close to the whale sharks in Oslob but note that you need to take their scheduled transfer from the island which can mean a bit of waiting around on either side. It still looked much nicer than any of the Oslob options, from what I could see.

Everything about the resort is amazing except for one thing which I'll get to later. Service -- Excellent. Staff was courteous and helpful. Everyone greets you with a smile and a "good morning / evening" while walking around the island. Rooms -- Great. Spacious, clean and A/C was excellent in our room. We did have an issue with the A/C in one room breaking down on our last night. Staff offered immediate solution and they did manage to fix it in a few hours. Amenities -- Fine. There's a nice infinity pool, a kiddie pool, a sandbar, lagoon for kayaking, and a hiking/biking trail. Pools are well-maintained and there are lifeguards at all times to ensure safety. The hiking trail is recommended for people with enough stamina to explore. Food -- Average. Quite pricey for a

We chose this resort because of its proximity to the Oslob whaleshark tours We took the 30-minute ferry from Dumaguete at 6:30 am, swam with the whale sharks and visited Tumalog fallls all morning, and were on the boat to Sumilon by 1pm. Made up of only 31 villas, all with water views, it is indeed a beautiful resort. We stayed 5 nights. The premiere villa I shared with my husband had a smart TV, but our children’s villa only had a regular TV with cable. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning very cold, and therefore sleep quality was good, but it would have been nice to have a duvet. Only 2 bottles of water were provided per day. The toiletries were of such poor quality that we had to take the boat back into town the next day to buy supplies of shampoo and

Counting hours to check out. Disapointing experience While the resort is located on beautiful island and quite pricy, it does not offer a service matching the expectations. - I booked scuba diving and received email with confirmation. Sadly, nobody seemed to be aware of our booking; diving center kept saying „no diving” or „dive guide not on the island”; it’s only after long discussion with the front tmdesk, when they suddenly found a dive guide and we could do a dive (ofshore only as „the boat was not ready”) - we needed to ask for housekeeping to clean our room (we did not have a toilet paper even) and the remaind few times about the request as the cleaner was not showing up for long time - there is not much to do on the island if there is raining. Worst part is, that

Decent rooms however overall experience was a big let down by the restaurant. Food quality in particular ala carte options) were subpar and overpriced. Buffet dinner was the other cheaper/value for money option; sadly dishes were all gone an hour into dining and refills were extremely slow to come. For 1,200pesos while cheap, be prepared to not eat your fill if you arrive late (i.e 7pm ha!). Service at restaurant was also sorely lacking with a request for hot drinking water missed twice. Bewarned and come prepared to 'diet' if staying for a week.

Check in experience is fine though you need to wait for the schedule of the boat from the mainland. We took the 2pm so we still had time of dropping by Tumalog Falls. When we reach the island , everything is ready and the staff just handed our room key. Room is nice with such beatiful lay out. Rest room is huge and hammock in our room is so relaxing. Staff are warm with positive service attitude. Would like to thank Mhar for some information about the things to do. Food is reasonable considering that its an island.Well i saw a review here comparing the resort to others in the mainland.I cant compare because Sumilon is an Island resort. Overall i would rate my experience 4 over 5.
