The 24-hectare coral island, located on the Southeastern tip of Cebu, is home to Bluewater Sumilon. Pristine white sand beaches abound. Its sandbar is known for its changing shapes and shifting locations around the island, depending on the season. There is a natural lagoon teeming with high mangroves. On the south side, a lighthouse rests on a protected tree park and a "Baluarte", a 19th century historical watchtower. It is also home to the Philippines' first marine sanctuary. At Bluewater Sumilon, let the islander's easy-going friendliness shine through and keep the pace low-key enough to let you feel pampered.

Detailed Reviews

I had a fantastic experience at this resort! The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional, making the stay truly memorable. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, with a peaceful and serene atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxation. Every detail, from the cleanliness to the service, was top-notch. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway.
High five to Roland, Roxie, Jogin & Jonna!

Beach is nice. The sea is so clear. When you go to the sandbar during weekends, a lot of people (outsiders, not in-house guests) will be there. Restaurant is so far from the premiere rooms. Very convenient, good thing there's room service. Very few food selection, yet very pricey. Bilao (they call it boodle fight) costs 3k. Ala carte breakfast costs 510. Soda in can costs 215. Food menu starts at 400php until yeah 3k. It's fine if the price is that high but geez the serving is so small lol. 600+ for a 4pc of meat for their humba. I mean? Really??? Front desk is so far from the rooms too. The only good thing about the resort are the staff. Very hospitable and friendly. I am just shocked as the food prices because this resort is only tagged as 3 stars. Other 5 stars resorts eg. Dusit, Jpark, Shangrila etc. does not have this high price of a food menu. Theirs are reasonable enough. Will recommend this resort but will give a heads up about the food price. Imagine? 15k for just 3D and 2N stay with 2 adults and 2 kids.
*shake costs 350
*fries costs 310 lol

We took one of the clifftop villas, as that seemed better with kids. It comes with a very large bathroom (incl bath) which was great. There are some good options on the island - walk to the sandbar or the lighthouse, paddle kayaks in the lagoon, etc. The weather was lousy the days we stayed sadly, but they can't help that. I chose this resort to be close to the whale sharks in Oslob but note that you need to take their scheduled transfer from the island which can mean a bit of waiting around on either side. It still looked much nicer than any of the Oslob options, from what I could see.

Sumilon Island Blue water resort is overrated and the boat feels not safe for kids and old people.
We paid P11,800 for 12 adults and 3 kids . We were told that 9k+ will be consumable for food and drinks.
Upon arriving we were advised that it’s a buffet style instead of ala carte order. We were disappointed because the menu was not even Cebu’s famous dish. No seafood, no menu for kids and there was no variety options for drinks. Multiple saucy viands were on the table which were meagre and subclass for a resort that caters local and international visitors.
Skipping this from your itinerary is highly recommended. This island will just waste your time and money.

Our stay in Bluewater Sumilon Island was beyond exceptional! From approachable and accommodating staff, to their scrumptious food and of course to its calm and breathtaking views and its pristine waters.
The moment that we landed in the island I knew that this is going to be worthwhile and it didn't fail me.
Now, if you're looking for a relaxing place away from the hustle and bustle in the city, I absolutely recommend this place.
One thing I would say...we'll definitely be coming back to this treasure.
P.S.
My nephews enjoyed the kids playground and baby shark feeding which we almost forgot that it's time to checkout already!
Kudos to Lendie Catubig for taking care of us ensuring that we experience the best stay.
P.P.S
See photos and videos for a virtual experience and soon of course, personally experience the vibe.

We stayed in a beach bungalo for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. It is quiet and there is not a lot to really do other than relax. The reef had been ruined by typhoons so snorkelling was poor though diving ok. The island walk is ok but not special. Food was fine with breakfast very good. Drinks were very expensive. The hotel arranges Oslob whale shark sightseeing everyday from 9-12.

My wife and I visited recently with a couple friend of ours and all of us truly enjoyed our stay in every sense.
We had booked the two bedroom villa with the pool and it met and exceeded our expectations - from the picturesque setting and privacy to quaint rooms topped off with an excellent wifi signal(since we had some work to get in as well)! The staff epitomized customer centricity and service and complimented this beautiful location. Krisha(front desk), Chin, Jojo(restaurant) and Ricky(security) were exceptional and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and convenient as they could. Much appreciated and look forward to returning soon!

We went during late November and were met with a memorable and a pleasant experience. From the resort, to the staff, the food, the activities, the transportation, everything was carefully and properly organized and managed. My family especially loved the water activities such as snorkeling and fishing. The safety was highly prioritized by the resort like the transportation to the island. Overall, the experience is truly memorable for me and my family. I highly recommend staying!
