The 24-hectare coral island, located on the Southeastern tip of Cebu, is home to Bluewater Sumilon. Pristine white sand beaches abound. Its sandbar is known for its changing shapes and shifting locations around the island, depending on the season. There is a natural lagoon teeming with high mangroves. On the south side, a lighthouse rests on a protected tree park and a "Baluarte", a 19th century historical watchtower. It is also home to the Philippines' first marine sanctuary. At Bluewater Sumilon, let the islander's easy-going friendliness shine through and keep the pace low-key enough to let you feel pampered.
An exceptional resort in a fantastic marine sanctuary. I stayed 4 days in this Splendid property, and was absolutely delighted. Crystal clear water that lets you enjoy the outstanding sea life, fishes crabs and cute baby sharks. The sand bar is very enjoyable, (when the day tourers are gone^^) in stayed the one bedroom villa « lumod » that was very comfortable, great wifi connectivity all around the island ! Island is never crowded, not too many people, which is perfect to relax and enjoy the scenery :) The restaurant/ room service serves great food! Not a lot of choice, but very good quality. I had the opportunity to dive 15 meters in this Astonishing coral reef , and in the marine sanctuary, it was a fabulous experience ! Thank you Rowel :) Great and helpful staff.…

It was good experience, I suggest you go there in weekdays if you really want the exclusivity of the island and you can go overnight coz you can do all things in one day because its not to big of a place, View is nice and the hidden beach is pretty okay. Food is nice also.

This is a beautiful Island. Now we didn't stay at the resort but traveled to the beach on Sumilo Island. I can tell you it's incredible. The waters of the ocean are breathtaking. You catch a small vessel across to the island. Then you have plenty of time to swim and enjoy the beach. Now be careful about the weather and how hot it gets. There is shade close to the beach. But it's limited. Above the beach is places to relax and sit in the shade. Food is allowed but not on the beach. Worth the ride out to discover something new.

I booked this resort because of the location and expectation it would be quiet and blissful. I was aware that the sandbar gets day trippers but did not realise that the hotel also allows (for a fee) day visitors to use the pool and hotel facilities. Oh my what an awful, loud, overcrowded place this is. The weekends are worse. I cut my stay short and I left after 24 hours as I could not handle it. It was dreadful. The island is incredible and the water Cristal clear but you can not get a sun lounger by the pool neither can you relax. This for me is also a huge security risk because you can not leave anything lying around due to potential theft. I really despise hotels that allow day visitors. I have stayed at a few and promptly left. It takes away the point on staying…

Sumilon Island Blue water resort is overrated and the boat feels not safe for kids and old people. We paid P11,800 for 12 adults and 3 kids . We were told that 9k+ will be consumable for food and drinks. Upon arriving we were advised that it’s a buffet style instead of ala carte order. We were disappointed because the menu was not even Cebu’s famous dish. No seafood, no menu for kids and there was no variety options for drinks. Multiple saucy viands were on the table which were meagre and subclass for a resort that caters local and international visitors. Skipping this from your itinerary is highly recommended. This island will just waste your time and money.

My family spent our Christmas for 3 days including Christmas eve. I would like to thanks the management of bluewater resort for showing Hospitality at its best even if we were the only guests in the island. They never abandoned us, Superb services, Very hard working crew, even during difficult times and holidays. Went to Sumilon last March of 2019 for a day tour. The experience was great. They have an exclusive parking area for your car. Going to the island was about 15 minutes boat ride. Clean place, safe lockers, fresh towels, clean shower area. We also enjoyed pedal boating. I really wished we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be back soon with my family.

My visit to this island started with bad impressions, but as I arrived and as the days of my stay passed I realized I was so wrong. Everything was great! If you are a hardworking person with duties in the head 24/7, this is the right place for you. A moment to actually be with yourself in a place of wonder. The service here is exceptional as is the food. And the beach- a few paddles from the shore you can already witness a well-maintained reef environment with all sorts of marine animals. This was a time of great memoir for me!

100% sure that my money was intact inside my wallet before I went to sleep; I was counting and separating bills for payment the next day. I even went to the Front Desk to have my Php 1,000.00 bill in smaller bills. When we woke up the next day, since the restaurant does not serve breakfast until 7AM, we went for a swim and came back to the room to find that some cash was missing. The Front Desk and management were very dismissive of my concern, and I had to request to review the CCTV (active word "had", they did not bother to offer to do it) and even requested for them to do a room search to prove that I was not making this up. All they did were "interviews" with very deflective and victim blaming questions such as "Did you just leave your things in the room?", "Why did you not…
