The 24-hectare coral island, located on the Southeastern tip of Cebu, is home to Bluewater Sumilon. Pristine white sand beaches abound. Its sandbar is known for its changing shapes and shifting locations around the island, depending on the season. There is a natural lagoon teeming with high mangroves. On the south side, a lighthouse rests on a protected tree park and a "Baluarte", a 19th century historical watchtower. It is also home to the Philippines' first marine sanctuary. At Bluewater Sumilon, let the islander's easy-going friendliness shine through and keep the pace low-key enough to let you feel pampered.

Detailed Reviews
The resort is very nice, but the only issue is that their website or booking agent have no information that their check-in time may be 1500 hrs but the LAST boat to the island is 1600 hrs. So if you are not at the boat area by 4pm you will have to spend a night at a close by hotel and still pay for a night that you could not get to the island.
Basically, they get a free night charge from the customer not making it to the island on time and the earliest you can check in for a room is 1400 hrs so really a lose lose for the customer should they have adventures planned past 4 pm.

Sumilon Island Blue water resort is overrated and the boat feels not safe for kids and old people.
We paid P11,800 for 12 adults and 3 kids . We were told that 9k+ will be consumable for food and drinks.
Upon arriving we were advised that it’s a buffet style instead of ala carte order. We were disappointed because the menu was not even Cebu’s famous dish. No seafood, no menu for kids and there was no variety options for drinks. Multiple saucy viands were on the table which were meagre and subclass for a resort that caters local and international visitors.
Skipping this from your itinerary is highly recommended. This island will just waste your time and money.

We had a 5hrs travel from our hotel in cebu to oslob it was very tiring but excited for the island paradise that awaited us. We were few guest there I'm not sure 6 or more but the aura felt like lost in the paradise we don't feel energize. I hope you added the pancake to your breakfast menu already I felt pity that my partner was able to ate toast bread with butter and few fruits only. It was shocking the breakfast was not enjoyable at all and when we requested for pancake the chef was adamant to our request and only obliged when i complain about it to the other staff and yes he cook it but we waited for more than half hour. We requested our dinner around 7pm and the spaghetti we order was specifically no meat and yes they gave us sweet spaghetti with meat and cheese.. oh boy we gave it back and yes we still paid for that. I'm sorry but you need improvement. It wasn't a cheap stay in sumilon and our experience was a shock. After dinner it would be nice to sit on the bench by the beach shore but it was so dark no fire lit for a romantic place to hangout before going to bed but it didn't stop us because the sound of the wave was inviting. There was nothing to do no billiards, darts etc.. Please improve, sumilon island is a paradise. The halo halo was superb! Thank you

Everyone was truly amazing and hospitable, from the pool attendant/lifeguards, security, the front desk, and most especially to the bartenders and waiters! The female receptionist/cashier at the restaurant was all smiles and answered all our clarifications about the membership benefits and the servers and bartender all assisted us when it was reported from the mainland that our car’s lights were kept running.
What stood out the most were the people who helped us when we got back to the mainland and found out that the car’s battery eventually got depleted. They took all the efforts to charge/fix our vehicle with smiles on their faces, unfortunately we weren’t able to get their names but I think those were their security and the resort’s driver. Thank you all so much for the extra mile exerted. We will surely be back!

Bluewater Sumilon is the BEST private island resort for our family. Situated in Sumilon island, a 10-minute boat ride from the mainland of Cebu. Sumilon is a 28+ hectare private island with a 5-star resort that has superb rooms, sumptuous food, and most importantly warm and polite staff that are more than happy to cater to your needs. Bluewater Sumilon is a perfect getaway for honeymooners (like us), married couples, families, and friends. There are tons of activities that guests of all ages can do..
Beautiful, private, secure, affordable but very warm and homey. 5 stars for this beautiful exclusive resort!

Great place for holiday. If you plan to transport from Cebu, must make sure you have 4 hrs up and ready for a bumpy road trip. We saw lots of day tour guests, but were separated from the guests who stay in the resort. The beach in front of the house was great to snorkeling, food was good but expected better, we paied extra for the lunch and the price was reasonable. The lagoon is smaller than expected. But the trails and the island itself were great to explore. And the pool was the best place to enjoy.

Beach is nice. The sea is so clear. When you go to the sandbar during weekends, a lot of people (outsiders, not in-house guests) will be there. Restaurant is so far from the premiere rooms. Very convenient, good thing there's room service. Very few food selection, yet very pricey. Bilao (they call it boodle fight) costs 3k. Ala carte breakfast costs 510. Soda in can costs 215. Food menu starts at 400php until yeah 3k. It's fine if the price is that high but geez the serving is so small lol. 600+ for a 4pc of meat for their humba. I mean? Really??? Front desk is so far from the rooms too. The only good thing about the resort are the staff. Very hospitable and friendly. I am just shocked as the food prices because this resort is only tagged as 3 stars. Other 5 stars resorts eg. Dusit, Jpark, Shangrila etc. does not have this high price of a food menu. Theirs are reasonable enough. Will recommend this resort but will give a heads up about the food price. Imagine? 15k for just 3D and 2N stay with 2 adults and 2 kids.
*shake costs 350
*fries costs 310 lol

We took one of the clifftop villas, as that seemed better with kids. It comes with a very large bathroom (incl bath) which was great. There are some good options on the island - walk to the sandbar or the lighthouse, paddle kayaks in the lagoon, etc. The weather was lousy the days we stayed sadly, but they can't help that. I chose this resort to be close to the whale sharks in Oslob but note that you need to take their scheduled transfer from the island which can mean a bit of waiting around on either side. It still looked much nicer than any of the Oslob options, from what I could see.

From March 15 to 17, I enjoyed staying at the Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort Cebu, a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and serene luxury. Nestled on a pristine island, the resort is a sanctuary for those seeking a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The resort’s white sand beaches are immaculate, providing a private paradise for swimming and sunbathing. The crystal-clear waters invite you to dive into an underwater world at the marine sanctuary, where snorkeling becomes not just an activity, but an exploration of marine biodiversity.
The tranquility of the resort is unmatched, with scenic views that paint a picture of pure relaxation. Whether it’s the gentle lapping of waves against the shore or the lush greenery that envelops the island, every aspect of the environment contributes to a sense of calm and contentment.
Conveniently located just 15 minutes away from Oslob, the resort offers easy access to local attractions while still maintaining a sense of seclusion. This proximity allows for quick trips to explore the surrounding areas without compromising the tranquility of your stay.
Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort is an idyllic destination that promises a memorable experience. It’s a place where time slows down, and life’s simple pleasures are magnified against the backdrop of nature’s grandeur. A stay here is a rejuvenation of the soul.
Rating: 5/5 – Highly recommended for a tranquil getaway.

We arrived at the place a little earlier than check-in possible.
But quite quickly our pool villa was ready.
We experienced high service and solution-oriented staff, all the way around. We had a delicious breakfast buffet, the option of a lunch buffet or a la carte and an evening buffet or a la carte dinner.
The place appeared clean and neat on the whole island. We enjoy coming to the island and have now been there 3 times in 6 years. This time our stay was 5 days.
