The 24-hectare coral island, located on the Southeastern tip of Cebu, is home to Bluewater Sumilon. Pristine white sand beaches abound. Its sandbar is known for its changing shapes and shifting locations around the island, depending on the season. There is a natural lagoon teeming with high mangroves. On the south side, a lighthouse rests on a protected tree park and a "Baluarte", a 19th century historical watchtower. It is also home to the Philippines' first marine sanctuary. At Bluewater Sumilon, let the islander's easy-going friendliness shine through and keep the pace low-key enough to let you feel pampered.

The resort is very nice, but the only issue is that their website or booking agent have no information that their check-in time may be 1500 hrs but the LAST boat to the island is 1600 hrs. So if you are not at the boat area by 4pm you will have to spend a night at a close by hotel and still pay for a night that you could not get to the island. Basically, they get a free night charge from the customer not making it to the island on time and the earliest you can check in for a room is 1400 hrs so really a lose lose for the customer should they have adventures planned past 4 pm.

Our stay in Bluewater Sumilon Island was beyond exceptional! From approachable and accommodating staff, to their scrumptious food and of course to its calm and breathtaking views and its pristine waters. The moment that we landed in the island I knew that this is going to be worthwhile and it didn't fail me. Now, if you're looking for a relaxing place away from the hustle and bustle in the city, I absolutely recommend this place. One thing I would say...we'll definitely be coming back to this treasure. P.S. My nephews enjoyed the kids playground and baby shark feeding which we almost forgot that it's time to checkout already! Kudos to Lendie Catubig for taking care of us ensuring that we experience the best stay. P.P.S See photos and videos for a virtual experience and soon of course, personally experience the vibe.

Bluewater Sumilon is the only luxury resort near Oslob, Cebu, and the only resort in Sumilon Island. Early booking is advised so that you can get a cheaper rate as their regular rates are quite expensive. The resort is clean, spacious, and very relaxing. Even if there are numerous guests booked at the resort, you wouldn’t get that cramped or crowded feeling at all. I appreciate the fact that they gave us the very first cottage with a beachfront view without us asking. It was due to the fact that I was with my 80-year old mother who understandably finds it difficult to walk long distances. Otherwise, the hotel offers free pick up and drop off at any area of the resort. Except for the multiple van and ferry transfers required to reach and get out of the resort from Dumaguete, I’d highly recommend Bluewater Sumilon for honeymooners, families, and groups of friends. The resort offers daytime tours for outsiders but for the best experience, checking in is a must!

We stayed in a beach bungalo for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. It is quiet and there is not a lot to really do other than relax. The reef had been ruined by typhoons so snorkelling was poor though diving ok. The island walk is ok but not special. Food was fine with breakfast very good. Drinks were very expensive. The hotel arranges Oslob whale shark sightseeing everyday from 9-12.

Bluewater Sumilon is the BEST private island resort for our family. Situated in Sumilon island, a 10-minute boat ride from the mainland of Cebu. Sumilon is a 28+ hectare private island with a 5-star resort that has superb rooms, sumptuous food, and most importantly warm and polite staff that are more than happy to cater to your needs. Bluewater Sumilon is a perfect getaway for honeymooners (like us), married couples, families, and friends. There are tons of activities that guests of all ages can do.. Beautiful, private, secure, affordable but very warm and homey. 5 stars for this beautiful exclusive resort!

We had a 5hrs travel from our hotel in cebu to oslob it was very tiring but excited for the island paradise that awaited us. We were few guest there I'm not sure 6 or more but the aura felt like lost in the paradise we don't feel energize. I hope you added the pancake to your breakfast menu already I felt pity that my partner was able to ate toast bread with butter and few fruits only. It was shocking the breakfast was not enjoyable at all and when we requested for pancake the chef was adamant to our request and only obliged when i complain about it to the other staff and yes he cook it but we waited for more than half hour. We requested our dinner around 7pm and the spaghetti we order was specifically no meat and yes they gave us sweet spaghetti with meat and cheese.. oh boy we gave it back and yes we still paid for that. I'm sorry but you need improvement. It wasn't a cheap stay in sumilon and our experience was a shock. After dinner it would be nice to sit on the bench by the beach shore but it was so dark no fire lit for a romantic place to hangout before going to bed but it didn't stop us because the sound of the wave was inviting. There was nothing to do no billiards, darts etc.. Please improve, sumilon island is a paradise. The halo halo was superb! Thank you

One word to describe Bluewater Sumilon Island would be PARADISE! We were greeted by a mild-mannered receptionist (if i remember it right, Kevin) before we hopped on the boat. Sit on the first row, if you wish to enjoy the water splashes. We didn't mind as we were still wearing our swimmers from our whaleshark experience. We got there about 1pm, the room was ready about 3pm, but no trouble, because we enjoyed alone time in the infinity pool, took a nap on the daybeds, enjoyed a "must order" halo halo on a buko, and fruit smoothies! What makes this place awesome is the staff, from the pool guy who picks up every leaf falling on the water, to the porters who helped our bags, to the friendly people at the reception and the dining area, even the nice ladies at the Amuma lounge. William's smile and attentive service is really heart warming. I'm not surprised why he's popular! Security is spot on! My husband flew a drone in front of our room and was told off 10 seconds later, which we are ok to abide. When snorkelling, I highly recommend getting a guide to the marine sanctuary. It's so worth it! It's good that the guides protect the sanctuary. There are only areas where you can snorkel, but plenty of fish, corals and clown fish. We stayed in premier deluxe room, which was very spacious, closest to the sandbar and best spot to watch the sunrise. Buffet dinner and breakfast are really good with plenty of options. Highly recommend, but would stay for more than 1 night next time.

Kudos to all staff! Service is above and beyond. We had a wonderful experience here at Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort. Villa rooms was perfect and private. The staff was amazing and went beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We definitely recommend this place. Activities include everything worth seeing around the area. No worries if you can’t snorkel. They will teach you and provide equipment. The staff pays paramount attention to your safety. The coral reef is beautiful. Swimming and kayaking are fabulous. Worth every penny. Special thank you to Chef Jeffrey for the amazing Philippine cuisine. Also special thanks to Yuri (FO), Louie (HK), Roxxane (Dining), and to everyone who made it feel like paradise.
