Nice Hotel but not a real 5 stars in my opinion but a 4 stars. We were in a beach villa my husband baby and i. Nice one and spacious but old decoration. Very bad point, the bathroom is outside… Not convenient at all. You need to leave all your precious stuffs inside of the room. The cleaning is not the best that i had for a 5stars. All the staffs are nice. Iced coffee et burgers are very good at the bar. I just would like to highlight the hardworker and thank him « Mufeed » who took care of us at our arrival and departure. He is very professional, nice and VERY HELPFUL!

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed at furaveri Island resort and spa for 5nights from 14th feb'2021 - 19th feb'2021. I am not a person to write reviews after every vacation but this time its worth writing and appreciating about the excellent experience we had in maldives. This was our first trip with our 8 months old baby and that also during this Corona pandemic. I would specially like to mention about the extra efforts of the staff of the resort they made to make us comfortable with the baby. Excellent location of the resort and its really a beautiful paradise and perfect for the peaceful and relaxed holiday. The staff there starting from main desk to housekeeping to those in restaurant , each and every staff member was so friendly and helpful and they always have a big smile on there face to serve you all the time . We had stayed at beach pool villa and water villa for 5 nights. The rooms are done so beautifully and are super spacious and clean.. they do cleaning twice a day and they themselves ask if u need anything extra all the time . Excellent, super amazing top notch service and beautiful villas. The food was so good with wide spread options .They do extra for babies if u ask them. Special mention to Shamin (house keeping staff) who was on duty of cleaning water villa. He was so so good. He was very friendly and helpful. Always on his feet to serve . He also gave us small little nice surprises all the time which was so nice of him, really would like to thank to Shamin. Overall 10/10 to location, property cleanliness, hygiene , food and service & all the staff. THANKS TO FURAVERI FOR MAKING OUR TRIP MEMORABLE AND AMAZING 👏

My husband and I left Furaveri on June 9, 2021 and are sitting in the airport writing our review while the details are still fresh in our minds! We traveled from the States (a whopping 22+ hour flight total NOT including layovers) and just know, even with that flight time, I can confidently say I hope to be able to return one day! A little background on us, we live in rural U.S.A., we typically stay in at best 3* hotels. We have never stayed in a 5* hotel like Furaveri, and this was our first trip away from our kiddos in 5+ years. We love to be adventurous, talk with the locals, eat, drink and do not travel to sit in the room or poolside. If these factoids make you think our tips and opinions will be helpful, read on. Upon arrival to Male Airport, there was a friendly greeter from the resort that gathered all the incoming guests headed to Furaveri. There was no hassle here and nothing helpful I feel I could add other than there is no internet upon arrival at the airport unless you pay for it, but for us, we didn't want or need it....we just arrived to the Maldives, for Pete's Sake!!! We were then moved to a waiting area for the seaplane transfer. I can absolutely say, book the sea plan transfer. Yes it's expensive, but the views and ease of transfer makes your well earned holiday even more enjoyable! TMA seaplanes are kind of a weird set up (seats about 15-20 people, two seats one one side, then single seats on the other side. You must wear a mask on these flights also! But the crew is kind and professional. Did I mention the views? Keep your camera and/or phones out because these are views you will never see anywhere else on earth! Our weather was good but windy coming and going so there was no concerns or "what ifs" about transfers. It was about 40 minutes flight to arrival to Furaveri (no stops) and about 1 hour departing (two stops). Upon arrival to Furaveri, there were several staff members greeting the new guests with a cool lovely scented towel. A simple gesture but a nice touch to refresh and revive us! Then down the jetty to reception to get checked in. We were offered a refreshing beverage while the process was in motion. No hassle and quite simple. Just a heads up, the resort utilizes the WhatsApp for communication between reception staff and guests. We didn't have the ability to have that app work for us due to not being able to receive SMS text messages to verify our phone number for this app so maybe have it downloaded before you go so you can utilize it if needed for rides to and from your villa or other requests that may arise. We walked every opportunity given and to/from the villa to the main part of the island (bar/swimming pool) it was probably 5-10 minutes time. You can walk around the whole island in an hour or less easily and I suggest you do. The beach is different on different sides which I appreciate and think is pretty neat! The public beach is heaven in-between your toes; soft powder sand. Most of the island has that going for it but there is one section that is more rocky. If you have tender feet, know this before you try to walk barefoot around the whole thing! Our entire stay was booked in a water villa (no pool) and it was absolutely lovely. Stunning. Breathtaking. I can say with no hesitation we never once wished we were anywhere else. There are two sides of water villas (# 300s and 700s). According to our airport luggage tag, we were supposed to be in 309 but a major storm passed by a couple weeks earlier and sadly destroyed many of the roofs of the 300# villas so we were moved to #712 at check in. These villas are the newer ones and really are amazing but the #300's are closer to much better snorkeling! We had an over water hammock, outside shower and tub and two patio chairs and it is a "sunset villa". Beautiful!!! The villa was well maintained although there are a few things we think make it appear more of a 4* than 5*. For example, the toilet paper holder had rust spots, and the shower glass was not sparkling clean (some black spots (mildew maybe?)) and previous guests wrote initials on the shower glass wall and was easily still visible. Also, our safe needed new batteries--we asked three times for new ones before we decided it wasn't going to happen. To us, these were not deal breakers but I would assume to some, they would be very turned off by it in expecting a 5* resort. Also, the resort does supply body soap and shampoo in a dispenser in the shower but no conditioner! That was a surprise to me because I read they supplied toiletries so I left my shampoo and conditioner at home thinking a 5* should have decent shampoo/conditioner available...bad decision. Now, I know, I know...first world problems and you're not wrong on that! But my thin and fine hair was destroyed after 7 days of abuse so take your own stuff for sure if bad hair days could annoy you!! The villa had exceptional wifi connections and Duo calls to home to our littles was no problems! Via the villa deck we saw turtles, an abundance of fish, and a few rays!!! There is no better way to spend your morning having tea or coffee with that view! The one patio chair pad had a large bulge in it and we asked for a new one a couple times but it was never changed. Though it annoyed my husband, I just swapped him chairs and it by no means was a vacation ruiner for me! As far as bugs go there were very few, if any, that bothered us on the water villas but I would imagine the mosquitoes would be worse in garden villas as I got bit just a handful of times while walking to meals. The resort does smoke them daily (twice daily if I remember right) and that is very appreciated as it is very helpful to keep the mosquito numbers contained. There are cute lizards that scurry everywhere but they don't hurt or bite so no worries there. There are also flying foxes aka bats that are around but also do not bother or hurt you! We were on the premium all inclusive plan. Just saying, do it. Even if you don't drink alcoholic beverages it makes it so much easier to just enjoy your holiday without keeping track of "the extras". There is a variety of smoothies, mocktails, cocktails, wines etc to try and enjoy. My favorite, the #9, Furaveri Dream. It's like a creamcicle! Yummy! I also really liked the iced coffees. They were delicious! Our mini bar in room was fun to just have some extras and being able to enjoy a glass on wine on the deck was nice! The food was really quite good at the buffet restaurant, Jaafaiy. They had seafood most meals and a nice variety of dishes to choose from. The dessert station was my favorite and we indulged regularly! The food is visually impressive and what I would imagine food from a 5* to look like. The staff at this restaurant all deserve a shout out, also. Novika and Abaas are not only very impressive at their jobs, they are absolutely amazing and kind individuals and we always looked forward to seeing them! Udhares Bar is where so many laughs were at over our seven days. Milan is the man!!!! He is kind, professional, attentive, slings up a mean drink, and is just a cool guy! Ask him to do a flamming martini tower if you have 4 people that would drink one!!! It's pretty awesome! There are theme nights each night that we took advantage of. Admittedly, I love karaoke and we laughed and laughed all night!!! The karoke guys are top notch, too!! We ate at both restaurants, Amigos and Raiyvilla. Both places were a huge treat and we enjoyed both meals! Our server at Raiyvillla (his name started with a W...Wapiti maybe??) was also a cool cat and we liked visiting with him! We would recommend both places without hesitation! We utilized the Dive Club while on holiday, also. I need to note that we did email correspondence on several occasions prior to arrival trying to figure out what we wanted to do and even via email, the dive staff was very timely, patient, kind and professional! We ultimately did two dives -- one was an orientation dive which is required if you have not seen diving in over one year. I was very very nervous as it had been numerous years since my last dive so this dive with Ms. Josephine was needed and appreciated! She was so patient and knowledgeable and it felt so sooo good being back under the sea! Our second dive was with Chetty the following day and we went to a pinacle reef and ooooh my word were there so many fish!! Thousands of fish!! Chetty was absolutely fantastic! He was patient and eased my jitters! He has a passion for diving I've never encountered before and he has an eye for spying all the hiding creatures!!! He was truly the best, possibly one of my top and favorite dive masters ever, and we loved getting to know him! He is a fish classifying machine--you explain the fish, he knows it no doubt! We will miss our visits for sure!!! We also hit up the water sports shop every day. The guys that run the shop are so so cool! You can check out snorkeling gear here for free during your entire stay and take it to your room to use--if you don't use it daily, trust me, you are missing out, but more on that later! We used the kayak's, the paddle boards, and my husband took wind sailing lessons as well. There is a variety of other "add on" activities that they offer and I'd encourage you to check them out! Snorkeling on this island is top notch!! So many reviews say it's just dead coral but it's because they didn't actually swim out far enough. Right off the beach or below water villas, it's a dead coral wasteland (you still see fish just not many) but as the saying goes....just keep swimming! The house reef from land looks far away but it's really not bad. Snorkel between the dark blue line and light blue line. You will not be disappointed I promise! Be aware of the weather, tide and current and if you have questions, ask the water sports guys and they always have good pointers, anyway. But seriously, go snorkeling on the reef! Not every island is blessed with a natural house reef in the Maldives and this one, it is breathtaking! It rivals some of the best diving we have done around the world and there is more fish to see snorkeling than we saw diving on the Great Barrier Reef!!!! It's that awesome! Lastly, the staff does a shark feed by the jetty daily. Check this out! It's fun seeing the sharks and fish come so close to shore! Check out and covid tests was easy and streamlined. You get an invoice the night before you go for any extras you signed for over your stay, and pay for them that evening or in the morning. You also have a schedule of when luggage will be picked up and where you need to be and when you need to be there. I remember reading a review where someone said their luggage wasn't picked up on time. This is because every single person leaving is getting their luggage picked up and they have to make rounds to get it all. Be patient; they will get it! Make sure you check for covid-19 test requirements for wherever you are departing to, this is your responsibility to make sure your dates are correct. Test results come in by midnight the same day you take them and can be delivered via email or a hard copy at checkout. Side note, the gift/souvenir shop is priced very similar to the duty free shop in the airport in Male and they have some cute things. I bought stuff in both places. There were families, couples and even a few single folks enjoying holiday on this island. No matter your situation, I can promise you Furaveri will fill your soul with whatever it is lacking and bring you peace and so much happiness! I hope you go and enjoy it as much as we did! Thanks for the memories, Furaveri!

This was a long awaited trip, planned to visit earlier but had to delay because of the pandemic. For me and my husband this was our first time in the Maldives and the hotel was recommended by a mutual friend. Getting to the hotel was not much trouble, everything was well organized. We were met by one of the hotel staff at the airport who assisted us with the checkin for the water plan which took about an hour to get to the hotel. Once at the hotel we were met with and checkin process was smooth. However things weren't all that great since the checkin. We had trouble in the room from insects and bugs, we understand that it's a tropical island but excessive amount of anything at this price point is disappointing. We didn't make it a huge issue but then we had more trouble at the restaurant, the waiter was not very welcoming when we voiced our concerns, we decided to speak to a manager and we were met with one of the most welcoming and kind hearted person named Shahid (Not sure if this is how you spell it). He listened to our concerns and got everything sorted out immediately and during the rest of our stay he made sure he met us every now and then to check up on us and made sure we were happy with our stay. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Surely every hotel has its problems with the whole pandemic but if they have people like Shahid there is no problem to worry at all. We will surely come back if we ever get the chance!
