Milaidhoo Maldives is a boutique luxury resort in the Baa Atoll UNESCO biosphere reserve, close to Hanifaru Bay, 126km north west of Male. It's perfect for nature lovers as its own coral reef, which completely circles the island, is a protected area and noted as an outstanding snorkelling and diving site in its own right. The tiny beautiful island, abundant with tropical greenery, measures just 300 mby 180m and is fringed by white soft deep sand beaches. Designed for couples and honeymooners, Milaidhoo welcomes guests aged nine and above. Offering barefoot informality, each of the 50 spacious air-conditioned villas has its own private freshwater pool on the sundeck and opens up 180 degrees to allow the natural beauty of the island into the villa. Clever design ensures all villas have ocean views. The custom-made furnishings and thoughtful designs are Maldivian inspired, from natural wooden floor to the thatched roof all made by master craftsmen specifically for Milaidhoo. An island host is on hand to ensure every detail of the stay is perfect, from arranging spa appointments and excursions to ensuring the private wine fridge in the villa is stocked with the guest's personal favorites. The room rate includes breakfast as well as wi-fi, laundry, kayaking, use of snorkelling equipment and in-villa treats such as a bottle of champagne and tropical fruit basket on arrival as well as a daily evening turn-down with a gourmet gift from chef. The three restaurants and two bars are designed to appeal to the senses, offering outstanding dining in wonderfully informal settings. No shoes are required. Food lovers will enjoy the Milaidhoo Gourmet Plan, which is a dine-around meal plan offering daily breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as international and premium brands of spirits, beers and cocktails from a selection as well as fresh juices, soft drinks, mineral water, teas, coffees, milkshakes and smoothies and a premium selection of wines, hand-picked by the sommelier all day long. The over-water spa has four treatment suites and complimentary yoga and meditation classes take place in the open air over-water pavilion. For romantics, Milaidhoo is the perfect choice: from candlelit dinners to scented baths, from flower petal bedecked beds to the perfect place to say "I do'. Sports activities include sailing, catamarans, kayaks, a 24-hour gym, yacht trips, dolphin cruises, whale shark spotting, manta ray watching, conservation activities with the resident marine biologist, fishing, diving, snorkelling, and an open-air infinity pool. Milaidhoo is reached by a scenic 35-minute seaplane ride from Male International Airport. Airport transfers are provided by the hotel at an extra charge. The transfer process is smooth and easy with the resort's representative meeting each guest at the airport and guiding them to the private lounge where they can rest and recharge to await their transfer.

Detailed Reviews
We’ve been at Mialidhoo for 11 days, and, if we could, we would stay at least a week more. The hotel is amazing: an incredible place, with all the view, sea life, sea colors and climate that you would expect from Maldives.
But this could be found in many other hotels from the region. The special in Milaidhoo is the attention to the details: the hotel is small, with maximum capacity of only 90 people, do it is never crowded. The architecture is beautiful and respects the organic of the nature; food is impressively good, with fresh fruits, fresh salad, excellent meat, and a special breakfast with multiple and divine options.
The staff is a highlight, with a good mix between being nice, friendly, helpful, and, at the same time, the let you have your privacy and space if you wish. We were hosted by Ahmed, who helped us to have a even better moment there. Also we would like to highlight the attention we’ve got from Bella, Looth, Tari, Dodi and Schub.
If you decide to visit this hotel, there are two things that for us were differentiated: (1) you don’t have to worry about your clothes. Different from other luxury hotel, you can wear causal clothes even if you go to the fancy restaurants (including flip flops!); (2) they offer for free the possibility to wash 2 clothes per person everyday, so you don’t have to take so many stuff with you.
The food prices are quite high. The quality is really outstanding, and we understand it may be very hard to have fresh and international food in that small island everyday, so it has a cost. But some simple dishes like soups, omelets could cost less. A tip: buy in advance a pack which includes dinner, so you don’t have to worry everyday about the prices and can have a good meal.
We will come back as soon as we can.

We had the most amazing babymoon. They have a very generous babymoon package (see their website) which totally blew us away. Gender reveal cake, cinema under the stars (we watched Grease!), coral reef nursery planting. We had some awesome excursions with Guilia the marine biologist who was very kind and friendly. Saw turtles, sting rays and sharks on the house reef (which is amazing and full of life); we also did a dolphin trip and saw a huge group of spinner dolphins; and managed to see the first Manta Rays of the season, swimming amongst them with snorkels, which was mind blowing and beautiful.
Our butler Abdullah was a legend, we really got on well and he was always offering an extra service, he was always appearing throughout the day and night, constantly giving us lifts on the golf buggy and providing service that felt very laid back but highly efficient. He arranged a photoshoot and private dinner for us, and made sure to keep close communications with the other staff about our needs etc.
If you are a vegan, this place will not only cater for you, they will make bespoke off-menu 3 course meals every evening (included in our full board) that are very high standard, an amazing gastronomic experience. They did this with little fuss, and always offered alternatives like vegan pancakes for breakfast, and had on vegan cheese... anyway 10/10 to all the chefs; and the kind and friendly serving staff (Bella, Shawwaff, many others sorry can't recall names).
The live music was amazing, they had 2 very good singers in the bar every evening, who we're very kind to take our numerous song requests. They also played a great eclectic selection and made the few drinks at the bar special.
The over water room itself was perfect for us. The bed is huge, as is the room and pool and balcony, you cannot improve this design in my opinion. The luggae area is hidden so you feel you can dump all your stuff and its out of sight, which allows you to enjoy the beautiful room without unsightly luggae strew everywhere. We had room 109 whiuch faces the sunset. The water was shallow on that side and the water is much calmer and better for swimming on the beach side, but the beach rooms are not as nice IMO, but I think you can try both.
Much love to all, who made this the best hotel experience of our lives so far, could not recommend more highly.

we choosed milaidhoo to celebrate our anniversary and now we recognized that it was 100% true decision. The island is just woooow. Every single thing was organized starting from welcoming you at the airport until check in our luggage for the return trip to our country. We booked two types of villas ( over the water villa & beach front villa) both of which were great with wide space when compared to the other resort.we booked with half board meal plan. The food of the ocean restaurant is five stars we were satisfied all the days, the chef is really expert in international food . We tried the batheli restaurant which serve Maldivian style food and it was really delicious . We went to three trips which are fishing at sunset and the restaurant cook for us the fishes that we catch. Also we went to dolphin watching trip but we were not lucky to watch them jumping , the were on the surface of the water only . We tried scuba diving for the first time with the diver expert and it was unforgettable experience.
We tried spa services as well, spa villas are over the water with great view the costs are high but I believe that this is the price range in the maldives .
And Last but not least this experience was nice due the great continuing help of the personal butler Abdulla. He help us in all of the booking for the trips and the spa and arrange for us special schedule according to the number of nights that we booked . Contact method was through WhatsApp. He keep reminding us for the timing of the schedule which was mind-relaxing for me to know that there is someone handling everything and that i have to relax only . And he gave us aspecial wonderful, hand-made, art, gift that was made by him.
Unforgettable memories were created in Milaidhoo island resort.

Truly paradise on earth! If you are considering the Maldives, look no further than Miladhoo. All of my highest expectations were exceeded at Milaidhoo from the moment we landed in Male and back. The seaplane views were stunning!
My partner and I were treated like royal family, Shuhan and Sharufeez went above and beyond to ensure our stay was fabulous. Thank you for making our story truly unforgettable.
Highly recommend Seabass's menu at Ba’Theli - Michelin star experience imo and he even catered to our culinary preferences. Special thanks to Dimu as well for his gorgeous hospitality and stories. The breakfast buffet is truly divine. Justus and his staff at the Ocean restaurant are absolutely lovely.
The over-water bungalows are absolutely stunning down to the smallest detail, literally the most comfortable sheets ever! Apparently the amenities are hand-selected by the owner. We were lucky to stay in the Ocean Residence, which was divine and had beautiful views. Spectacularly clean and super lush.
The spa on the island is also incredible, we did a couples spa package, with fruits and champagne; the massages are perfect and worth every penny. Overall the island is peaceful, no cars or young children, designed perfectly for couples on their dream holiday.
Look very forward to coming back again and would never consider anywhere else in the Maldives, first choice always!

We stayed for a couple of weeks beginning of March and were amongst the last to enjoy a stress-free holiday before the coronavirus restrictions kicked in.
We stayed in a beach villa that faced east and gave us both stunning sun and moon rises. The wind was more prevalent on our side but was no more than a gentle breeze which made the heat more comfortable.
The villa was incredibly spacious and we spent the whole time lounging around without once feeling restricted. It felt like our own resort within a resort. The deck was enormous with a variety of seats and loungers and the private pool was large enough for several strokes in any direction.
There was plenty of shade and apart from the very occasional, distant guest wondering past along the beach (and it's the kind of place where most wave apologetically for the intrusion) we had total and utter privacy and peace.
The food was exceptional. For variation we did try the Shoreline and Ba’theli restaurants but never tired of the Ocean, it took on a different identity every time we sat down to eat. Those who looked after us there were brilliant and gave us suggestions for unlisted dishes and variations on a menu which in the end we barely looked at.
Like many hotels the Milaidhoo operates a “butler” service. Request go through your personal butler. They are available any time, day or night. There is constant communication between them and all departments. It seems even the smallest of requests and comments of any significance are passed on.
It was a genuine pleasure to have met everyone at Milaidhoo, I’d mention names but wouldn’t want to leave anyone out. That said I have to say thank you to the wonderful Akoo. His kindness, patience and incredible efficiency made our stay beyond exceptional.
In short, Milaidhoo is a small and very quiet resort which protects your peace and privacy. It gave us a level of contentment we have not felt anywhere else. From the General Manager down, there was a genuine kindness, concern and a total commitment to make our stay the very best it could be. It was.
Next year we will once again be spending a couple of weeks at the Milaidhoo and hopefully in the care of Akoo. Prior to booking our holiday, I read in Trip Advisor a review which said "if you want anything then ask for it", trust me that is true.

Even though this is our fourth visit we still write honest reviews.
Before visiting check what the wind direction is and the lie of the land for the beach and lagoon condition. The weather determines the best position for selecting a beach villa and also the best side for water villas. At the moment the best side for beach villas is the Ba'Thelli side of the island.
it was my wife 50th birthday and also I saved my 100th dive for this trip. The celebrations for both were outstanding.
Eulogising is very easy. You could be reading a long time and I would be writing for even longer. That said you will not be disappointed by any aspect of a visit from the rooms to the butler to the food service and the bar everything is spot on. I take my shoes off and Male airport and do not put them back on until I am back at Male airport on my way home, That's 20 days with no shoes at all at any time.
Our island host was Hussy who was as usual quite outstanding anticipating our needs and making sure every day went as smoothly as possible. On the catering front be warned about the measures at the bar. Sarj is quite heavy handed and a "Sarj Single" is a UK treble, Ask for a chocolate martini they are superb. Special gins made to SARJ's recipe are also very good.
Dimu will take care of your every food need. We prefer eating family style everywhere and it works for us. Not on the menu but worth asking for are the ribs with fries - marvellous!!!
Diving at Ocean Stories is exceptional. Marc, Nazym and Michi are superb guides and CR on the boat is a great aide when you are getting in and out of the water. We saw some amazing sea life especially the red frog fish, turtles, shark, rays and the huge ornate eagle ray. Marc is exceptional at spotting the small stuff.
What else can we say, 4th visit and not the last.
Shuhan the GM runs a great team. He quite rightly has massive respect from all the island colleagues and makes himself available to guests on-demand.
The formula works beyond expectations, the quality of the experience is personal, the whole holiday, all 20 days of it, were just magic.

This place is a short distance away from the airport. Roughly 30-45 minutes north of Male by sea plane. You would likely need to take the seaplane North to venture here. The island is beautiful and owned by a private family. As many experiences are, you can customize your stay to your preference. A boat restaurant called Ba’theli Bar and Lounge lay some meters east of the island. The food at Ba’theli was the best food we had in the Maldives; authentic and varied curries, range of seafood selections, an international menu with delights from Morocco and the like. We ate here at least 3 times, each time without fail. To the north of Milhaidoo you can see the four seasons. Yet another experience here was the spa. It was exotic to be honest. The staff at the spa paid attention to about every detail I could fathom, caressing and massaging my body until I was sound asleep. The exquisite teas after the session were full bodied and reminded me of the East. Our manager, Hussy, was exceptional with his coordination of activities, dining and basically anything we so desired. Without a doubt, he was highly experienced and professional, worth top dollar. As you would expect, the staff at the resort are very personable and nice. The staff all wore masks religiously as they kept the rooms consistently sanitized and comfortable. The property had an amazing reef. However, from the north side overwater bungalows it was not easy to traverse to the reef during the low tide as there were large rocks and trigger fish present. Still, once the few meters were overcome, the reef was bountiful with myriad aquatic life and beautiful water. It seemed cooler in Milhaidoo compared to Anantara, which was geographically positioned more south. Highly recommend a stay here as it is worth every penny!

We've just returned from our amazing honeymoon adventure where we finished off our trip on this most stunning of islands. From the minute you arrive on Milaidhoo you are truly blown away by its beauty. When Ahmed our personal Island Host greeted us with cold towels and ice cold champagne we knew we were somewhere special. Milaidhoo Island is quintessential understated luxury. The rooms are absolutely huge and our water bungalow had the most spectaular sunset view. The snorkling is outstanding and the hotel provide you with all the equipement you need. We were staying on half board and can't speak highly enough of the food. The choice is almost limitless and the sevice exceptional. For our last night Ahmed recommended dining in the award winning fine dining restaurant Ba'theli Restaurant. It was the perfect end to our honeymoon watching the sunset in the most beautiful of steeings. We opted for the tasting menu and thought it was superb! Would definitely recommend it for a special treat. We were entertained by the huge stingrays and reef sharks too during the evening. Watching the most amazing fish swim next to us was magical.
The attention to detail really made our honeymoon a trip of a lifetime and we can't thank Ahmed enough for his special touches to our room. The decorations, Champagne and honeymoon cake were very much appricated and made us feel incredibly special. Thank You so much Milaidhoo! Will will definiatly return x

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Milaidhoo and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. The hotel had just reopened following the COVID-19 closure, so occupancy was still very low. That meant a private dinner almost every day.
We had a water villa facing the reef, which was an amazing view to start the day. The room is very spacious and so is the outside area. The reef is great and easily accessible, and we could see a wide variety of fish and even small reef sharks. We would also recommend the manta ray excursion- we were very lucky to see dozens of manta rays.
The personnel is kind and very helpful. Our butler, Sultan, helped us with all our requests and organized a beautiful honeymoon celebration for us which exceeded all of our expectations.
The food was really excellent and we appreciated the hotel made an effort to keep all restaurants open in spite of the low occupancy. We highly recommend Batheli, specialized in Maldivian food. There were some small misses with some dishes at the Shoreline grill restaurant, but nothing that ofuscated the great quality of the food overall. We had the Gourmet Plan (all inclusive) during our stay, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you drink and eat a lot; we felt like it was just not completely worth for what we consumed.
In a nutshell, a true paradise on Earth, amazing and kind personnel and delicious food... what more can you wish? We can’t wait to be back!

This is a lovely island with just 50 rooms so ideal for a quiet getaway. We stayed in a water villa which was very nicely appointed. The quality of service throughout was excellent. Our personal butler Anth could not have been more helpful and the same applies to Bella and Saiz in the main restaurant. The pasty chef even made some palmier pastries for my wife. We went half board but as with other Maldivian resorts the $65 allowance in the specialist restaurants does not go very far, a starter for instance. There is a gourmet option but it is expensive and you need to want to eat three full meals a day to justify the cost. We drank new world wines at around $100 a bottle which was the bottom of the price range. The house reef is good but no better than other islands we have visited. A really nice touch was a gratis dry cleaning service for up to 4 items per day. All in all this was a 9/10 stay, thank you to the service team which made our stay both relaxing and memorable.
